a night that time forgot -- open, joining - Warringkingdoms - 05-11-2018 She woke up covered in pollen. Her initial reaction was one of confusion, glancing about wildly to try and search for a familiar landmark, a sign, or anything that could tell her where she was- but all she could see for miles was plains, spattered with wheat fields and the occasional flower patch. Did she remember any plains being near... near what, actually? Even after pondering for several moments, her search for a point of reference came up blank. She didn't recall having a home, a family, or anything besides the foreign plain she was stuck in now. ...Come to think of it, she wasn't even sure she knew who she was, let alone where. "Deep breaths," she muttered, twisting around to get a glance at herself. She was covered in black and white fur, had four legs, and had a tail- so she was some sort of mammal. Lifting a paw cautiously and pressing it against her face, she confirmed that her muzzle was relatively flat. She was probably a cat of some sort, then. That didn't tell her very much, but it was better than nothing. Almost subconsciously, she tugged lightly at some sort of fabric around her neck. Narrowing her eyes, she pulled the fabric off and set it on the ground. It was green, albeit a darker shade than that of the grass surrounding her, and had a tag on it. Warringkingdoms K. L. was scrawled messily in black ink on the tag. Never mind what the last two initials stood for; hopefully the name "Warringkingdoms" would sound familiar to someone nearby- and judging by the strong scent of various creatures that swarmed her senses, there were indeed people nearby. With a sigh, she carefully wrapped the scarf around her neck again, then called, "Hey, anyone around? I need some help." And possibly a place to stay, she thought about adding, but decided against it. Every little thing irked her, daring her to fly into a full rage, but she managed to hold back. She had to. She couldn't lose touch with reality again. Not again. Never again. She let these grounding thoughts attack any others that manifested within her mind as she headed for Warringkingdoms. The polar bear was cool and calm, and she was definitely glad this feline and not crossed the borders in search for the help she desired. Trespassing was not something she was particularly fond of unless something serious were happening. Albeit, she supposed she could make an exception since this newcomer was in need of help. She hadn't crossed the border though, so there was no need for exceptions to be made. "Suiteheart Folie," the Starstruck Guardian rumbled as she lumbered closer. She sized the feline up, checking for wounds or anything of the sort, but there was nothing. [color=#73B1B7][b]"Who are you, and what's the problem?" [color=#73B1B7][b] Re: a night that time forgot -- open, joining - Warringkingdoms - 05-12-2018 [font=trebuchet ms]The first to approach was a polar bear- an animal that she wouldn't have expected to see in the plains, but hardly the strangest occurrence she'd seen over the past few minutes. The bear dwarfed her, as was to be expected, but didn't appear- or sound- aggressive. "Suiteheart," Warringkingdoms repeated lowly, with a nod of acknowledgement. That would be easy to remember, she thought. At Suiteheart's query, she shook her head. "That's the problem," she answered, adjusting her scarf again. "I don't remember. My name is Warringkingdoms, if that sounds familiar at all, but I can't recall anything else." Now probably wasn't the best time to speculate on why she couldn't remember- she could save that for later. With a sigh, she continued, "I was hoping someone around here might recognize me, and I could go from there." What a wonder the sudden lack of headaches, insomnia, and freak accidents could have on his personality; without something to be bitter or irritated by, Bast was back to being his usual relaxed, apathetic self. He was actually smirking in amusement once more at things, or giving a genuine smile -- that in and of itself said that he was feeling better, though he had yet to give an explanation of why. (Not that there would be one, frankly. Bastille felt no remorse, and until he did, that shit was staying quiet.) As he came to a stop beside Suite, he sent her a quick sideways glance before studying their newcomer. Missing memories, eh? Interesting. Not one of his clients, so the name truly wasn't familiar to him. "Well, we haven't met you before, but maybe the memories will start to come back on their own," he supplied in an idle drawl, "You can stay with us while you sort shit out, I guess. This is Ascendants territory." Re: a night that time forgot -- open, joining - Margaery - 05-12-2018 [color=#b14767] ❁ ❁ ❁
Margaery was no stranger to missing memories. She too, at one point, had been afflicted with amnesia and recalled how absolutely dreadful it had been. Knowing nothing. Knowing no one. Everyone, including yourself, a stranger. She shuddered at the thought, grateful that her memory was wholly and completely intact now. It appeared that this newcomer was not so lucky. Coming to a halt besides Bastillepaw, she stole a weary glance at Suiteheart before fixating her attention on Warringkingdoms. [color=#b14767]"Margaery Mikaelson," She greeted pleasantly, [color=#b14767]"And yes... time has the tendency to heal all things. Do you need any assistance in getting settled in?" Re: a night that time forgot -- open, joining - Warringkingdoms - 05-12-2018 At the moment, with the residents of this territory having arrived relatively quickly and showed no sign of hostility, Warringkingdoms was feeling slightly more at ease. Slightly. Then again, with no frame of reference to compare this experience to, anything was an improvement over waking up completely confused. The next individual to arrive didn't seem to recognize her either, but at least the two of them were providing as much assistance as they could. They were offering her a place to stay, too; she couldn't say that was the most secure method of running whatever sort of living situation this was, but she was hardly in a position to turn them down, and having a stable home of sorts (even if temporarily) would probably help her regain her bearings. "Ascendants," Warringkingdoms repeated again, reaffirming the name in her head. An odd name to be sure, but one that would also be easy to remember. More loudly, she answered, "Thank you for the offer. I guess you can call me 'Rin' if it's easier, as long as I'm here." "Warringkingdoms" was something of a mouthful, now that she thought about it. To the next person to appear (Margaery, she committed to memory), she added, "Maybe just point me in the general direction of the living area. I think I'll be okay from there." It appeared she had been a tad bit late to the border to welcome this newcomer as Bastille, Margaery and Suiteheart were already on the scene, but still- the female had approached. Offering a smile to Warringkingdoms- Luna would speak. "Welcome to The Ascendants. I'm Lunafreya but Luna is okay."
Pausing for a brief moment- the female would listen to Rin's question before answering. "The Complex is east of here, if you'd like- I can help you get settled into a room." space

It had seemed that the throng of newcomers had shrunk considerably in the past few days. Hazel didn’t mind, particularly; there was a fair number of members now, some of which she was still learning names for. It would be exceedingly embarrassing if she forgot someone’s name. The cocoa feline approached without Arion by her side for once, as the colt had finally exhausted himself and lay sprawled in the grass by the observatory, fast asleep. Hazel wound her way through Suiteheart’s massive paws to take a seat near the front, no longer afraid of the bear after helping fix her locket. “Hi, welcome to The Ascendants. I’m Hazel,” She said, voice a little quiet with the concept of talking to a stranger. She wanted to ask what the green marks on her face and forelegs were for, but she decided against it. It was short, simple -- the type of nickname Bastille liked to stamp on people (ironically, he seemed to have a nickname for everyone, despite not being the most social of butterflies; he really didn't seem like the type to go doling out individual names, but in reality he was too lazy to keep saying full names and found nicknames to be a must -- hell, he didn't even saw his own full name ever). Sometimes he used his own nickname for someone (HD was Imm or Immy in his mind), but Rin would do. Which reminded him that he should probably introduce himself. "I'm Bast," he supplied after a nod, glancing first towards Luna and then Hazel as they arrived. He lingered briefly on the cocoa femme; she had slipped back into the quieter tone, the more shy and fragile Hazel that had first arrived on their border. Maybe it was the strangers aspect of things, though she seemed like the type to greet others with boundless joy. Interesting, that. He glanced away, however, and added, "Yeah, Luna's on it. We're all probably headed back to the Observatory anyway, so we can just show you to camp." He was already turning in that direction, evidently ready to do away with the idle niceties. It was very small given the length of her full name. And Suite quite liked the latter. It was a good kind of different. It also reminded her of Eternalwar, and that was a good thing as she liked the tigress a great deal. "Well, Rin, it's good to have you here." She would nod in greeting to Margaery, Lunafreya, and Hazel in turn. A light laugh sounded from the polar bear as she realized Hazel had ran through her legs to take a seat in the front. It was equal parts amusing and sweet, in her eyes. Lord, she loved this kiddo. "If you have any questions, Rin, don't be afraid to ask them. I hope you get to find out what your memories are. Those are tricky things." Memories and the absence of memories was not something she was unfamiliar with; she had lost all of her memories when she died and her soul moved into the bob-tailed cat's body. That had been... an interesting experience to say the least. [color=#73B1B7][b] |
