They'd been amazed at the sight, feeling the familiarity of an underground space. Closed, cramped, exactly how they liked. They were used to small hallways, small buildings, small everything. They liked tunnels for they were familiar with their mind. Tasked to map the tunnels, which would be quite difficult if they took a large party and couldn't speak. Then Ghost would have to devote valuable mental capacity to keeping the group together. Alas, it had been specified to take a group, and so a group they would take.

'I (Ghostwhisper) am hosting an escapade into these tunnels. Lanterns have been gathered at the entrance. Once we have reached a party of three, we will be heading inwards. Any to arrive late will be expected to catch up.' The not had been carefully attached to a nearby tree. Ghost patiently sat at the tunnel's entrance, waiting for an expected party to eventually wind up toddling over. Getting around to this task had taken a while - Ghost's mapping tended to take quite a while. The devil was in the details, and tunnels were Ghost's expertise.

the Ardent himself had expressed interest in this trip.

Silent despised not knowing what was in his court after all - and the caverns were currently an unknown, something that itched at him.

Really the map maker would be a boon in that regard - a map of the caverns would be valuable, especially for any resources.

So here he stood, idling with the much smaller Ghost and waiting on the others to arrive to take off - the tips of his tendrils that danced along his shoulders. Reaching out to brush along the cavernous walls at the entrance.

GAEL Ó BROIN
The caves remained a topic of interest to the vulpine.  Exploring it once with Kydobi, Gael knew the underground passageways were essential to tactical movement through the Pitt.

Naturally, he preferred traveling over land -- where the flow of air remained fresh and steady.  For the sake of essential knowledge, the Imperator hardly minded stepping out of his comfort zone.  The refresh would be essential, especially if they sought to utilize the tunnels more often.

Perfect for diversion tactics.  It was a shame then, he noted with thoughtful frown, they were not more of a secret.  Previous invasions had taught him so and the faerie briefly considered setting his daughter up to altering the paths through her ability to move the earth.

Gael twitched his ear, falling in line with Silent and Ghostwhisper -- he doubted the Ardent would feel entirely comfortable in more cramped spaces but he, of them all, should know the paths well.  The willingness to learn spoke highly of him.

Seeing they made a party of three, the faerie dipped his head to their resident mapmaker, prepared to follow.

[div style="width: 100%; height: auto; text-align: justify; padding: 20px; font-size: 15px; color: #f2ffff;"]It felt odd, to be around two other members of the group so high in the hierarchy. The leader, for one, an absolute massive beast. It did not unsettle Ghost to be around the ardent, simply because they did not feel. Or, well, their ability to feel was fluid in nature, moving from one to the other in a slow, sappy and sticky pace. Silent was far taller than them. Most creatures were, especially those of a mythical breed. Their gaze had stared into the caverns, wondering if they would be familiar to Ghost, or odd and not as easily formed in their mind as those of the past. Not that they were worried. A challenge could easily and be readily bested. A small worry blossomed, worry of how the largest one present would fare in the caverns. It was not their place to worry. They were leading the exploration, not holding anyone's hands while the deep caves sprawled on and remained uncharted. Concern did not fare well in a harsh territory.

Noticing the other's dipped head, Ghost was snapped from their musings. Right, they technically did make a party of 3. Counting hadn't ever been their strong suit. Their body shook, ruffling out their cloak. Wordlessly - of course it was without words, without speech, for voice evaded them - they turned and began to worm their way into the caverns. A lantern was grabbed with one of their long and sturdy claws. Brief was the struggle before Ghost settled the lantern into a comfortable hold. Then, they continued downward, many legs brushing over the ground and disturbing whatever dust laid on the floor. Some persons, supposedly, lived down here. Mapping out their living quarters wouldn't be needed, but a brief notion of where living areas were would likely do them well. They moved slowly, with purpose, taking their time to note how wide the tunnels were, and where the path would branch or continue forth. Excited internally, stiff and purposeful on the outside.
