LIKE I SHOULD ; snowball fight - j a c k . - 07-26-2020 it was a beautiful moment; when jack's composure fell to the heat, and his aura of false confidence gave way to the snarky, sly kodkod he knew himself to be. the heat of the dawning day brought with it a new struggle to tamper against the heat. even within the smoldering remnants of the jungle, the humidity was atrocious, and left his fur feeling matted and filthy. Even after running a tongue bath over himself; the feeling wouldn't fade, and jack felt his priorities for the day shift from social grace, to simply cooling off, damn his sister, and her summer, damn himself, and his inability to join a desert in the middle of winter instead. damn it all. in the red temple, there was plenty of shade, and little heat; with the help of a few npc's, jack managed to gather enough water for this purpose, a small ponds worth; and he set to his task, grinning slyly as mounds of round snow balls were formed beside him. a low chuckle tapering off as he set to his task. the help he had gathered stuck around, but not for long, as soon as jack made enough he made quick work of them; punting snowballs towards their directions until they fled the temple in the sheer inability to fight back. with water elemental and wind, jack could simply levitate the snowball and fling it. the heat create a strong ice core; made the snowballs give some for of oomph. and there, in the wake of the red temple, the dapper king sat atop a makeshift throne, snowballs littered the entire inside of the red temple and he waiting for his next victim to walk in. he would start to count from one to ten; and at the last number; snowballs would fly. all that was waiting, was for his trap to be sprung. Re: LIKE I SHOULD ; snowball fight - fulzanin - 07-27-2020 HIGHER BEINGS, THESE WORDS ARE FOR YOU ALONE ghostwhisper - group - mantis-awahondo hybrid - they/them [div style="width: 100%; height: auto; text-align: justify; padding: 20px; font-size: 15px; color: #f2ffff;"]Throughout their journeys, Ghost had never actually climbed into a snowy mountaintop. The glitter of white powder had always been seen from afar, with them never getting close enough to know the chill or feeling of snow against their form. They'd been curious, sure, of what the odd coloration of the mountaintops meant. They'd kept away, mostly because there was so much to explore on ground level. Mapping out areas normally resulted in quite a bit of snooping around. Something as inconspicuous as a well could lead to an entire kingdom underfoot. It was utterly astonishing to Ghost, of how long and winding a kingdom could be under something so utterly odd. A kingdom beneath a well, what a complete and odd concept. Nonetheless, that land had been mapped out by their own claws, and now there were new kingdoms to map up. Temples were a somewhat new concept to Ghost. They hadn't seen many during their travels, and most of the time getting into them was a bit of a struggle. Sure, their claws could make quick work of any feeble attempts of deterring outsides, but beyond that? Normally the temples were dead ends, nothing worth mapping other than dotting its location on their map. Whatever jewels or treasures within them were not the insect's concern. The Pitt's territory was odd. It was burned, and so Ghost had little idea of what it had once been, and what it would be in the future. There was the possibility that their maps would swiftly grow outdated, and that simply would not do. They would have to remain vigilant indeed. There were a couple temples in the Pitt's territory that they had yet to map. Hence why they were entering one now, one of their long and sharp and sturdy claws resting against the door as they wandered inside. The first thing to come to Ghost's mind was that there was a lot of white powder, and it was not on a mountaintop. The second was that they were all rounded, much like they remembered a companion of the past doing with their own dung and that of others. When the snowballs were thrown, they could block one or two with one of their long claws, but soon after Ghost fell prey to the sheer surge of snowball pelting at hand. They felt snow enter their shell, heartily shaking their head. Ghost was prepared for many things, but snowballs in the midst of summer in a temple surrounded by sand? It was far from anything they could have anticipated. But even he found it somewhat odd when spying Ghost entering the red temple and choosing to see what their resident map maker had chosen to do now - that he did feel rather momentarily surprised when a snowball spattered across the ribbed and warped skin of his neck. Of course only one person he knew could be behind this currently - unless anyone else had neglected to tell Silent they and water manipulation abilities (which he’d like to know as they were inherently useful in a desert environment, for his armies to stay hydrated anyway) That great eyeless head swing around to find Jack on his makeshift throne - something like indulgent amusement in the abomination’s stance, Well, everyone got bored - and a snowball fight - if whimsical - at least was one way of training. That and the others would probably be thankful for the reprieve from the summer heats - a content people was better for the coming trials in the late summers, for while this first term had mostly been training outside of idleness, a storm was on the horizon And he would be leading it, But for now, the creature leaned back on the tendrils writhing across his haunches, skeletal tail scraping the floor ”I see you’ve found your newest amusement” the silent one rumbled, somehow that eyeless gaze landing on Ghost covered in snow themself. |
