THE SONG OF TIME ☆ open, bonfire - RHINESTONE. - 07-23-2020

Rhinestone knew well that not all was fine within Palmclan, at least not yet. That wasn't to say they were falling apart – no, they'd actually been doing a pretty amazing job at rebuilding given the circumstances – but spirits were still low. He could still see the longing looks on his clanmates faces when they looked at their dens, desperate to see the sleeping forms of those who had been lost. It was hard not to think about recent events, and that was definitely understandable. However, that didn't mean he wanted everyone to be wallowing in defeat, either. Palmclan had always been stronger than anything that came at them, and he needed to make sure that everyone remembered that. The old leader used to leap atop the rock in the middle of camp and give long, inspirational speeches that were meant to pump everyone up, but that wasn't really Rhine's style. It seemed a bit too... corny, for his tastes. Not to mention the fact that he was a lot of things while speaking, but motivational wasn't exactly something that sprung to mind often. So, he knew that he needed to go another route.

Thankfully, now, nearly a week and half – give or take, he wasn't sure – after the hurricane, things had finally become dry again. Or at least, most things had. With newly dried trees and beaches, it hadn't been too hard for Rhinestonestar to think of something that would, hopefully, lift everyone's spirits. After leaving their sandy bowl of a camp, the leader had spent most of the day out, collecting not only many pieces of firewood, but also plenty of other kindling as well. Smaller leaves from the oak trees of the forest, bark from one of the splintered palm trees, pretty much anything that could burn safely. After that, he'd set up a broad ring of rocks on the eastern side of the beach, tossing all of the fiery fuel within the circle. It took several awkward attempts of slamming together rocks for him to eventually start the fire ablaze, but when he did, his eyes practically lit up like the flames. Grinning widely, the leader glanced at the pieces of prey he had gathered, sitting on top of a large palm leaf nearby, before he shouted towards camp, "Anybody who'd like to come and relax at a bonfire can come and do so! Kits can even attend, as long as you have an adult to escort you." He didn't want to exclude anyone from the event, especially considering the purpose of it.

He only hoped the boardwalk was far enough way, so that no pesky twolegs would come and try to stick their big noses in clan business. Although, the boardwalk had seemed awfully... deserted, lately.

fires made him very wary - but that didn’t stop the blue scaled beast from marvelling at the ability his small ones possessed in somehow being able to create this deadly element.

So he somewhat cautiously approached the raging bonfire, his large frame a dark silhouette against it - he came close enough to feel the heat and after a few minutes being sure it wouldn’t do more than simply warm him in the same way the distant bright circle above did, he slowly settled his mass onto the sand, curling his claws under him before his attention angled back to Rhinestone with a small chirrup of greeting.
