[ GONNA START A GARDEN ¦ spar ] - Grimm - 07-21-2020 [align=center][div style="font-family: arial; font-size: 11px; width: 60%; text-align: justify; line-height:120%"]A creature of base desire, selfish beneath the fine veil of falsified comradery. Had been he within a better place, mind open and willing, malleable compared to the gathered layer of continuing built upon scar tissue over dwindling soul, a mere facet may such have been. Yet he was not, held against his aching chest the tattered memories, allowed the rot to fester until he seemed crafted from decay. Or it may simply of been his draw within life, between shaking fingers clutched the short stick even as he reached for another. Pitiable fool. To such did he spit in the face, however, unwelcome the concern and quiet condolences, those his brother shouldered with the simple flourish of gratitude. Two sides of the same coin, at odds and opposed for their ideals, the manner within which their lives were conducted, yet together brought for no other carried their blood. Against the sand did the opaque crescents of exposed claws drag, the once mess of poorly structured swirls parting beneath. Solitude had Coconutpaw sought along the empty shoreline, the quiet hush of ocean intermingling with the hollow keen of gentle breeze. Peace seemed a far off notion, a dream he sought yet slip between his fingers as though it were just more grains of sand. Wiped clean his previous marks carved into the sand, abandoned the futile attempts to quell his rising rage. "Someone… fight me or something, just hit me, I don't care." The words fell from the slow withdraw of dark lips, his rise marked by slow, sloppy circles he paced, uncaring of the one who may answer simply wanting the mindless joy of battle. Rhinestonestar... had never really been a fighter. Yes, he knew how fighting worked, and how to pull off some pretty great strategies, but that was all really just training, when it came down to it. He would defend Palmclan until he took his last breath, but did that mean he often partook in spars, or bragged about how he was the greatest fighter around? No, far from it, in fact. He had never really been promoted to senior warrior solely because of his fighting skills, or anything like that. He had been promoted because of his activity, and his brains. If he could win a spar? That was really just the cherry on top, as far as the former leader was concerned. That had been fine for Rhine, who had been surrounded by senior warriors that were far better at fighting than he, some of whom had even offered to teach him a few things. He had accepted the offer from one of the others – Dappletail, his name was – but Rhine hadn't really been in that for the training. He had more been in it because he had thought Dapple was handsome. Thinking of it now... it made his heart hurt.Regardless, even if he had been the best fighter in the world, Rhine still wouldn't have sparred Coconutpaw. Why? Well... simply because the other was an apprentice, and Rhinestone wasn't his trainer. He didn't think that it was very fair, pitting the boy against a fully grown warrior and leader of the clan, regardless of what Coco was pitching for. The other's tone of voice also made him frown, wary of what exactly Coconutpaw wanted to happen during the spar. Making his way over, Rhine hesitated for a moment before he spoke, shaking his head a bit, "I won't hit you, but... I will supervise any potential spar, if one of the other apprentices is interested." That'd be good, right? It'd make sure Coco got what he wanted, while also making sure nobody got seriously hurt. Re: [ GONNA START A GARDEN ¦ spar ] - Luciferr - 07-26-2020 well storm didn’t spar so much with the cats - he was far, far too worried he’d hurt them! His size was an advantage but in this case a rather large disadvantage with his clan mates. Of course one advantage of his size and the general way most claw strikes from small mammals felt more like very tiny papercuts meant he was a pretty good practice dummy he guessed so well, maybe the hatchling would at least like that. Coming up on the two, stormspine would settle his great bulk down and essentially adopt that same loafing position he’d seen the cats do, only with far more scales than fur and his monstrous claws curled up close to his chest. Finally settled, the spino chirruped to the hatchling ”I’m a little out of your weightclass Coconutpaw but if you’d like a wall to punch, I guess I’m the best one here?” he chuckled a little, smiling in that toothy way. |
