crumbling like pastries -- p, jacob - london r. - 05-09-2018

She had been asked to come to the leader's den before she left for the Typhoon, so that was where London could be found heading. She would hum a soft tune, a melody from one of the songs she had once loved to sing back before everything had briefly been filled with so much darkness. Back before she had been all alone. Now she couldn't imagine any day ever being like that again, unless of course a strange unknown sickness came to the tundra, just like the one that had come to her old home. But that wouldn't happen, that would be ridiculous, and so the albino tossed those thoughts aside. There was no need to fill her own head with nightmares.

But back to business, the Chief had said that he needed to give her something for her trip, and so the girl had first prepared a basket of gifts to give to the Typhoon for once Melantha and her got there. Just things that one might expect from the tundra tribe, hot chocolate packets, kettles for the hot chocolate, then some toys she had kept from the gas station and some books she had grown tired of reading. Now all that was left was whatever Jacob wished to add in there. She wondered what kind of present he had for the pirates, surely it would be something grand. Like a totem or something tribal like that. Oh, how wrong she was.

WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — Jacob wasn't too sure about this anymore. Maybe he shouldn't have asked London to do this. He could just go with them and that would solve all his problems. He'd just go and give the rubber duck to either Pinch or Lil. Before he could think through it again, he heard London entering the little cavern he'd taken residence in. He moved towards the girl with a smile. "Hi London, thanks for stoppin' by. Uh, I jus' wanted ta' tell ya' ta' give this to either Pincher or Lilyspoise. They'll know what ta' do with it," he explained as he presented the rubber duck. He wasn't sure if he should say something else. Should he try to explain it? Would Lilyspoise explain it? Well, no, he supposed she wouldn't. He hadn't even explained it to her. The only people that really knew why Pincher and Jacob were exchanging ducks were Pincher and Jacob and Jacob was pretty sure Pincher wasn't going to tell anyone about it. He wasn't even sure if other people knew about the little rubber duck that he kept on his desk. Jacob had just thought it'd been nice so he thought it'd be good to get him more. Then he'd proceeded to bring them on every visit and every time he saw Pincher. It was a little ridiculous but he enjoyed doing it and hoped London wouldn't mind the odd request. —A GREAT HONOR TO HOLD YOU UP

Immediately as she stepped into the cavern, the girl was greeted by a smile, and it seemed to wash any misgivings she might have had away. Though London had been more curious than anything to see what Jacob had brought, there was always this small part of her that believed she would get called out for some unforeseen wrongdoing. Perhaps somehow the Chief had found out that she was to blame for the deaths of her brothers and mother or something ridiculous like that, something that would likely never happen. After all, there was no way anyone could have uncovered that, and then managed to follow her all the way here to the Snowbound, a place that was at least a month's travel away from her previous home.

But those thoughts vanished as she was presented with a rather odd gift. Something she hadn't really expected, a toy of sorts. "Uh, sure. No problem, I'll make sure to get it to either of them." the albino clouded leopard affirmed, still visibly confused. She would ask, but she supposed that there really was no reason for her knowing besides to satisfy her own curiosity. "Is there anything else you might need me for?" the would then offer. It seemed a bit silly to just come here for the rubber ducky, though she supposed it might be possible that it was the only reason he had called her here. It would be a strange thing to have mentioned at the meeting after all.
