JUST TO HIDE YOUR FACE ☆ koc visitor - wormwood. - 05-28-2020

When the prospect of visiting the other groups had first been brought up, Aurum's initial thought had been Tanglewood. However, he had been quick to squash that initial instinct. Even if he was already feeling a sort of homesickness for the swamp, he knew returning there so soon would only cause him more pain. It would only reopen old scars he was none too enthusiastic about facing for the moment, so even though the expectation had been for him to return to his former home, he had instead picked the Typhoon. Next to Tanglewood – and now the Knights, on some level – the Typhoon was basically his home away from home, with a great deal of his friends and even family being within the pirate group. His last visit hadn't been all that long ago, when he had arrived with supplies from Tanglewood, but this trip was a bit more personal. This was more of a "get to know each other" visit for both the Knights of Concird and the Typhoon, and he could only hope he could make Goldie and the other Typhooners see how great his new home was. He knew that this visit wasn't yet for trying to make allies – just to introduce themselves and deliver some gifts – but that didn't mean he wasn't already considering it. The Typhoon would make a reliable, powerful ally, even in their still reeling state from the meteor strike.

The trip to the Typhoon had been mostly painless, with Aurum having to fly just a little bit low so that he wouldn't jostle and drop any of the items within the basket held in his jaws. Novels, native herbs, daggers, snacks... Icarus really had gone all out when he constructed these baskets for the other groups, not that the lion was complaining. He liked bringing gifts to his friends, and while it perhaps wouldn't make as much of an impact as when he had brought supplies, it would hopefully still bring smiles to their faces. Before long, the angel allowed himself a slow descent, coming to a landing near the massive bell that he had grown quite acquainted with over the years. Carefully putting his basket of goodies down, the lion lifted himself up on his hind legs to hit the bell, listening to the ringing sing outwards across the territory. Afterwards, he sat back on his haunches, smiling as he called out, "Where are all of my favorite pirates? I've come bearing gifts!" Even though he knew he would have to explain the purpose of this trip, he hoped that the others wouldn't be too terribly nosy. Both about the new Knights of Concord scent clinging to his fur, and the fact that the scent of Tanglewood was rapidly growing stale.

[align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]★ — Maragaret wasn't at all familiar with the lands outside of the Typhoon. She knew of them, of course, but aside from the fact that Tanglewood and the Typhoon were allies, she was unaware of any of the specific details about any of the groups. She wasn't sure that she had met any foreigners yet, either, and if she had then she certainly had no idea of their allegiances. As such, the Knights of Concord were but an afterthought, something that the five-month-old had yet to even hear about.

A new scent wafted its way into the young cub's nose. This was a smell that Maggie knew for a fact that she had never once smelled before, and as such it piqued her curiosity. She rose to her small paws and made her way over to the scent originated from. She found herself faced with a lion several times her size, someone whom she had never laid eyes upon before and was, admittedly, somewhat intimidating. She was almost afraid to approach him, but the male didn't appear to be a mean person, and he did say that he had gifts... Putting on a brave face, the girl emerged from her hiding spot.

"Who are you? I've never seen you around here before," the jaguar cub asked innocently, head cocking slightly to one side, as she approached Aurum.

[glow=white,1,400]I LOVE YOU, CANNIBAL QUEEN !。+゚.[/glow]
The sound of the bell ringing was enough to bring the older femme over with both of her ears perked, she would take a few steps forward with her ears twitching. It was Aurum! Her gaze brightened and she drew closer until she stood beside Margaret with a smile tugging onto her maw, her tail lifting into the air in a rather happy way. The Reaver would open her maw to speak "Hey there. Look what the cat dragged in," There was a brief pause only to add with a soft giggle leaving her maw "Yet again." She was happy to see Aurum once more but the scent that clung to him was no longer Tanglewood's scent but someplace else, it made her quite curious especially since the basket carried an unfamiliar aroma with it. The Reaver nodded slowly "This is Aurum, sweetheart. He's a good friend to me and your cousin, Goldie." Her head tilted to the side for a moment only to speak to Aurum, her gaze softened "This is my lovely daughter. I don't believe you've met her before," She would nudge her daughter gently with her muzzle and nodded in the direction of the lion "Why don't you introduce yourself, sweetheart?"

She would shift her stance a bit only to take a few steps forward and would inquire with a slow nod of her cranium "How's life treating ya, Aurum?" Roxanne was looking much better than the last time the two of them had seen each other and well, she couldn't help but pick up a slight tired energy from the larger male though she refused to say anything not wanting to prod into business that was not hers. JAIME ROUX
"vengeance is just hope with a history"
Jaime was trailing behind his mother and if hadn’t have been he’d have been trailing behind one of his siblings - the recently returned Roux still felt rather too anxious to let one of his family out of sight so he’d taken to following after them here and there.

charcoal wings were mantled  over him like an extravagant cape but they rose and tensed slightly at the unfamiliar stranger - but mother said they were a friend so the child let himself relax somewhat and padded closer to sit beside his mother and stare at the stranger - Aurum - and his gifts in curiosity.

He glanced to his mother and decided to take her queue ”m’ Jaime” and went back to eying the daggers and the novels with some interest, wondering about what kinds of novels some of them might be.

Aurum was rather surprised to be greeted by a new face in The Typhoon, especially one so young. He found himself faintly wondering if she was a joiner, or rather a child of one of those already present within the group. Considering the resemblance to Roxie... he was fairly sure he knew what his instincts were telling him. Offering her a soft smile to hopefully soothe whatever nervousness she might be feeling, the lion rumbled softly, "Well hello there, little one. My name is—" He was cut off by the arrival by none other than one of his favorite women within the Typhoon, Roxie. He immediately grinned upon her arrival, his one blue eye lighting up at the presence of his friend. Chuckling at her little comment, he allowed her to introduce him, dipping his head to Maggie and flicking his ears forward to listen to her introduction. At Roxie's comment, he shrugged his shoulders a bit, his expression growing a bit tired, "It's good to see you too, Rox. I'm doing... alright. Tired, lately. Made some kinda big changes in my life recently. That's actually why I'm here, with these." He gestured towards the various gifts he had brought with him, before he was distracted by the arrival of yet another face.

Glancing over, the angel was startled to see yet another child. Not only that, but yet another child with a resemblance to Roxie, save for his lack of horns. Noticing how he was eyeing the gifts with interest, he pushed the basket forward, chuffing at the boy in greeting, "Nice to meet you, Jaime. Like your mom said, I'm Aurum... feel free to look in the basket." Looking back towards Roxie, he teased the feline gently, "How many of these little critters have you got crawling around now? I swear, there's more every time I come to visit." After that, the male turned his attention away from Roxie, and towards his other favorite woman within the Typhoon, Goldie. He snickered a bit at her little comment, laughing, "Depends, am I doing a good job?" He then followed it up, tail flicking calmly, "I'm actually here on the behalf of the Knights of Concord this time. We're a new group, and we're just sorta... introducing ourselves to our neighbors, if you will." He still made no mention of his leaving Tanglewood, not feeling like opening up fresh wounds just yet. He instead focused on Goldie's news, his one eye lighting up when he heard her announcement, "You're getting married, Goldie? That's great! Is it to who I think it is?" One could practically feel the satisfaction dripping from his words before he finished, "And I better be invited."

JAIME ROUX
"vengeance is just hope with a history"
Watching his family interact with Aurum it was rather obvious the history they shared and Jaime’s early tense reservations if he had any left simply ebbed away, curious about this friend of theirs but well, they were talking and Jaime was too polite to interrupt - maybe he’d ask mom later - though at least Maggie appeared to be as in the dark as he.

Then he was addressed and given permission to look into the gifts he’d been eyeing so the cub nodded ”thank you” because unlike some siblings currently not here that he could name, he had manners.

He half listened to Aurum talking about the new group - Knights of Concord, curious name, were they styled after what their name suggested? Like the typhoon were - while he looked through the gifts, a book featuring a dragon on the cover caught his eye (a subject he’d been curious about since grandfather had found him after all) and a small intricate dagger.

He pulled both out but seemed to be scrutinising them each for which he would take - assuming he wasn’t allowed more than one, he didn’t want to seem greedy after all.

Books were useful for knowledge or good for an escape from everyday in the stories they would tell - but a dagger was a practical tool, one he might need lacking the full grown claws yet (and well it was good for more than just fighting) - so the cub spent the time the adults were talking deliberating over his choice.
