The burns up and down her side were killing her. But more then that, she couldn't breathe. Moving was terrible. Her sides ached from the burns, her wing and leg were broken, her paw was *gone*. God, fuck, who did this to her? Was it those stupid assholes from the Grey side? She grimaced as the thoughts ran over her, but she shook her head, slowly. Awkwardly, Sam stood, dragging her wrapped and bandaged body out towards the porch. She wheezed along the way. When she made it to the porch bed, settling into the sunlight, her ears flattened a bit as she groaned. "Damn. Maybe this fresh air.." She then paused, before starting to hack and cough, her head tilting down a little bit. Her eyes squeezed shut as it came from her muzzle, over, and over again. But slowly, she picked her head up, looking down at the porch where her nose had just brushed it. Red. Red drops. She flinched, looking away a bit. "It's just from the smoke." She said aloud, trying to convince herself. The word alone was enough to draw Roan over, although not that he hadn't been nearby already. He had just been returning from a trip to search for herbs when he heard coughing, an ugly sound that made him wince and his ears flatten. He couldn't even say with certainty who it was coming from, considering the vast amount of those he had treated recently who had injured lungs or battered bodies. He wished things could be different, but for now it was best to just be ahead of the curve, and make sure that nobody was suffering needlessly. As a result of this, the boy deviated from his course along the beach, figuring it wouldn't be too bad if he returned home a bit later. Had it been other any time, he probably would've been worried about how his mama would react, but at this point she had to be used to him being gone. His duties dragged him away from their home more often than not, hence why he had made it a goal of his to be around his mother and siblings as much as possible when he was around.
It wasn't long before Roan found himself in front of Goldie and Sam's porch, his eyes flicking between both his cousin and her girlfriend ‐ or fiancée, now. Considering Goldie seemed to be the one doing the questioning about medicine, Sam needed to be the one that was coughing. Shifting his bag a little bit around his waist, the boy hesitated before speaking up, "Uh... hey cousin Goldie. Hey, Sam." He didn't wish to interrupt any kind of intimate moment, but it seemed as though his services would be useful. His eyes were drawn for a moment to the red smears on the deck, which he was pretty sure weren't paint. Wincing a little, he continued, "If... If either of you need me to check you over or anything, feel free to ask. I've got my herbs on me, and I heard... coughing, from over here." He didn't want to directly point out the blood, not wanting to stress Sam out anymore than she might already be, but it was a sign that worried him. // late ass reply woops The first on scene. The one she saw first in the morning, her eyes drifting towards the princess as she approached. She grunted softly in greeting, screwing up her face as she tried to her best to keep the coughing doing. She felt like someone was stepping on her lungs. It was just the smoke, she told herself. But to tell someone that she hadn't noticed Goldie's recent rushed pace again was a lie. She was spending as much time as she could out and about- and Sam knew it, but at the least the ache in her side wasn't actively from this. No, it was something different, she supposed. She tried to push herself up to greet the tiger, but gave another cough, racking her body. Back of her paw to her mouth, settling it beneath the other like the red droplets weren't there. "Medicine.. dunno if you can medicate my.." Roan speaking up caused her eyes to shift. She searched him for a long moment, before she stiffened her shoulders. The weakness faded from her eyes- as if Sam was afraid to present this side of herself, so intactly vulnerable, to anyone but her lover. ".. A.." She hesitated a moment, swallowing, before speaking. She looked to the left a bit. "A check up. I need one." She admitted, quietly. "SPEECH" |
