SHOW YOURSELF [INTRO] - sykes - 05-12-2020 TELL HIM THE NIGHTMARES HAVEN'T STOPPED
tell him i'm not sure what is real and what is not
Everything about the situation seemed to contradict itself. He knew he'd been walking, but it felt like he'd been running. It felt like both a minute and a month had passed within what also seemed to be the blink of an eye. His muscles ached, but they didn't. His mouth was dry, but he could almost feel his saliva rolling down his chin, albeit he knew it wasn't. He could remember, somewhat. He'd been back in Zephyr, worrying as he usually was as he headed in the vague direction of the Old Barn when he'd noticed a swirling, black mist in the midst. For a while he'd argued with himself, but had eventually decided to check it out, if not for the safety of himself then for his daughter and his clan. It was his duty as a leader. He'd come to terms with his position by this point, no longer feeling as if Delphinus should be standing where he now stood when he called meetings. No longer mourning his sudden twist of fate, no longer mourning the loss of his former life now conjoined with the responsibilities and duties of a leader that he had never been ready for, not really. It was a wonder that Martin and Lime had ever thought of him as a leader, as someone who had ever been able to handle the heavy burden the aforementioned had faced before him. But not to dwell on the past. Nothing he could do about it now. Still, something was wrong. Very, very wrong. As the mist faded from view, the air seemed to change. In the mist it had been thick and heavy, almost choking like it had been back at Zephyr. Now, it was light, fresh and almost freeing. But it didn't make him feel any better than he would've thought it was. It was clear, as he stepped from within the mist's tendrils, that he was not where he should be. He was somewhere he had never been before, and frankly, it was nerve-wracking. Loey had known his way around all of the continents of Solani. He had never once been here, though. Spinning on his paws, his breaths quickened into a heavy pant as the unfamiliar surroundings registered in his head. He couldn't see Mt. Whitaker anywhere, and that had been the largest mountain in Solani. It was with one more turn that he noticed with a panicked cry, that even the black mist had receded, and was no longer visible to the naked eye. Like Solani and Zephyr, it was gone without a whisper, and that... that was worrying. template by orion
Re: SHOW YOURSELF [INTRO] - Warringkingdoms - 05-12-2020 /retro to Caesar's betrayal Yells of panic, coming from the border, could mean anything from "someone got horribly lost" to "somebody was about to get murdered". After a moment of processing the cry from afar, Rin immediately set down the notes she had been writing and ran towards the sound, her ears flattening back. They hadn't seen the beast that murdered those two deer recently, but it could always come back out of the woodwork when they least expected it. As she arrived at the scene to see an as-yet-unhurt tabby cat, Rin let her eyes wander over to the trees. The shadows did not move. With a nod, she turned back to the stranger. "Are you alright?" she asked, twitching her ears. Maybe he was just confused, or maybe something, tangible or otherwise, had startled him. Once she figured out which one it was, she could continue from there. Re: SHOW YOURSELF [INTRO] - – 2D - 05-13-2020

2D had quite a bit of experience with suddenly having your entire world change before your very eyes. The first time his world had changed, it had been because of his own choices. He had finally felt old and strong enough to leave the comfort of his family home and strike out as a loner. It had been a lonely existence that he had chosen – hence the name "loner", he supposed – but he had enjoyed it, and it had certainly been a big change from his former life spent in safety and warmth. Then, the next major change in his life had come with the arrival of Murdoc. That had been totally unplanned, which should've been obvious considering the fact it opened with the canine colliding into him and sending his head slamming into a rock. That incident had quite literally changed the serval's entire world, making it constantly lurch and spin while being drowned in a sea of reds and pinks, with the occasional rusty brown thrown in for good measure. Anyone else wouldve been pissed to have their eyes irreparably damaged by some random asshole, but 2D wasn't anyone else, and Murdoc had become his traveling partner for the foreseeable future, helping him with adjusting to his new, tilted way of life.
The singer supposed that the most recent major change in his life had been his arrival to Elysium, although that was yet another event that had been mostly out of his control. Murdoc hadn't forced 2D to join the group with him, but what was the lanky male to do? Just lose the only friend he had known in so long? The thought of such a thing made 2D shiver even worse than when he was first adjusting to the cold of the mountain, so he had taken that big life changing event in stride as well. However, it seemed as though some weren't as easily adaptable as 2D was – not that anyone could blame them. The male was, naturally, attracted to the scene for the same reason that Rin was, the odd panicked cry that the other had let out. Concern was already gleaming in the singer's deep black eyes as he came trotting over after Rin, coming to a stop beside her. With his long tail flicking back and forth, the blue-furred feline mumbled, "Yeah, 're y'alright? Cause y'look like y'just saw a ghost, or somefink." If the other male had seen a ghost, perhaps 2D could help him with that. The serval had claimed several times in the past to have seen strange apparitions that weren't natural, but Murdoc had always just told him to sod off, claiming he was just seeing odd things thanks to his poor eyesight. 2d
