THE SAME DEEP WATER AS YOU — private au - THEM - 04-29-2020

[align=center][div style="text-align:justify;width:55%;font-family:verdana;"]He'd done this before, hadn't he? Different circumstances - different people. Things weren't the same. It didn't feel right at the time, it was an uncomfortable diversion in a world held up on stilts with someone who practiced loving like he practiced firing a gun.

But it feels right, now.

It feels right enough to make him nervous, the same way he felt when he asked in the past - but the past didn't matter much these days. She asked him if he had a free evening, which was a bold move when he considered they had very little to do with each other before their chance meeting. There's an uneasy tightness just under his sternum that presses deep and asks him if diverting back to old habits was the right thing to do; he answers that it doesn't have to be casual if he doesn't want it to be. (Which is an impulsive thing to think about, and makes the rock sink deeper. He's smarter than this. He should've been smarter then, too, but nobody accused him of having sense on top of all that.)

Though little seems to matter when he puts himself in the driver's seat and lets his mind turn elsewhere, to the road, the radio. Confidence, he's found, is the key to all of this. Being just the slightest bit aloof came second - just enough to make them want to figure him out, to want passage under the surface. Roxanne Roux had already pulled pieces from the wall and found herself steadily chipping away at his old reserve. He wasn't sure if he had a leg to stand on when she had already gone so far as to approach from nowhere and ask him on a date. Or, well, a meeting. An evening. It could've been strictly business. (...He was distracting himself.)

The pulloff to the beach is a rocky one, and Kazuhira is inwardly glad he could justify purchasing a jeep when he moved to the island - something about off-roading and tactical advantages chimed in the back of his head as he went over the specifics a few months before. There are a few other beachgoers packing up for the night, and all at once he feels overly conscious for having dressed so stiffly. Did she want to swim? No, that couldn't possibly be. Mulling over the possibilities leaves him whiteknuckling the wheel where he's parked, forcing the occasional glance at his rearview in hopes of spotting her approach before she could find him. Or maybe he was checking his hair. He'd let himself be a little vain, if it meant looking sufficiently impressive.

(Or maybe it was about personality to her. Shit.)

[glow=white,1,400]I LOVE YOU, CANNIBAL QUEEN !。+゚.[/glow]
Roxanne Roux hardly ever asked anyone out and frankly, the last time someone had asked her to go on a date with them had been several years ago, that had been the first date she had ever had. Now dating seemed a little difficult to go by again after what had happened that and given the fact it wasn't easy finding a babysitter to watch over several kids. But she had found someone willing enough, normally she would stay with her kids and refused to go out without them but this time was very different. She had ended up asking someone out on a date. Admittedly, she had only had intentions of asking and thought she was going to be rejected though to her surprise... He had said he had been free that evening, that flutter in her chest growing worse. Kazuhira Miller. They had a bumpy start but over the past few months, the time the two of them spent together calling each other terms of endearment or just throwing subtle flirty remarks, all of which had been platonic from both sides until recently where Roxie began to feel the heat rising to her face whenever he called her hon or love. They hadn't bothered her a while ago but now, whenever they were near each other that thumping in her chest grew louder and faster. She wasn't certain on how to react at first or let alone what to say, Roxie decided to keep quiet about it even if she did find herself twirling a piece of her curly hair around her finger. Always lost in thought, he often had to call her name to make her snap out of it.

A smile always present on her face. Now, she was nervous. She placed around her living room for the first hour in front of her brother, Michael, only to say with a frown on her face "I didn't think he'd say he was free! I don't even know what to do next," Michael eventually said she was overreacting which she couldn't help but agree on, he would start telling her that she should get fixed up for the date and that's what she ended up doing. Roxanne deciding to go with a simple sundress with a bit of a floral pattern, it was a first date, after all, she didn't want to overdo it and end up coming off as bold. Would they go swimming? God, she was uncertain. It was getting pretty late so she doubted that swimming would be something he wanted to do and frankly, she didn't think she wanted to strip down from her sundress to a bikini. She finished her look with rose gold stud earrings and a bit of makeup, she slipped her shades over her eyes only to present herself to her brother. "This is casual enough right?" He seemed amused before saying that she looked great. Which made her very happy. Roxanne hoped that Kaz would think the same, she bit her bottom lip knowing that she would have to go to their meeting place soon.

God, she was a nervous wreck yet she would hold herself quite confidently. The last thing she wanted to do was turn chickenshit and end up canceling the date because of her small bout of date jitters. Roxanne was certain that they would go away in time the moment that she saw him. It wasn't long before she spotted him sitting in a jeep, nibbling on her bottom lip pausing only to bite the inside of her right cheek. Roxie just needed to relax, taking a long breath would her slow steps pick up the pace moving into a more confident stride, this was Kaz. Surely, a date shouldn't put her off and she had been the one to ask! She should be able to handle this just fine without any trouble. Once she was close enough, she could see that he was looking at the rearview mirror and an amuse laugh would escape her only to find herself leaning gently against the jeep saying with one of her eyebrows raised "Hey there," There was a brief pause, "You come here often?" Roxanne often put appearances aside, her attention usually fixated on people's personalities. Most of the time anyways. [glow=COLOR,1,400]✧*:・゚[/glow]
