Funnily enough, this time Aphra was actually invited to the tavern, rather than her inviting the other person. Or just straight up coming here by herself. The fact that Roxanne was the one who offered made the feline's heart swell, hardly believing that she wanted to return the favor despite everything that had went on between them recently. Honestly, Aphra still felt hurt by the fact that Roxie had broken her necklace, especially given how that had only been a few days after Aphra had spilled why that piece of jewelry was so important to her. It was almost as if Roxanne had purposely destroyed her necklace, knowing how much it would hurt Aphra. But despite that, Aphra forgave her even without her asking for forgiveness. Maybe it was about time that she came to terms with her mother's death, even if she wasn't exactly ready to. But now, with the whole thing that happened with Caesar, Aphra wasn't sure if she could come to terms with her mother's death. At least, not in the way she wanted to. She definitely wasn't ready to now, not when her own father seemed to disown her. Sure, her sister was still alive - as far as she knew - but she definitely did not have a good relationship with Fakhira. Nor did she want to, quite frankly. Despite being disowned, Aphra still believed she was better than Fakhira and deserved to have her name. After all, Fakhira meant 'pretty', while Aphra meant 'dirt'. Absolutely fucking disgusting, what was Caesar thinking? He obviously did that on purpose. She mentally huffed to herself. Caesar was a strange fellow, but it wouldn't surprise her if it was his idea to name her and her sister the way he did. Or the way he made their mother, she wasn't quite sure who named them. The reason Aphra had originally went to visit Caesar was to confront him about what he had done to Trygve. She wanted to prove that what he had done was in self-defense or something that didn't make him be the bad guy like everyone believed he was. What she didn't plan on was, of course, Caesar outright disowning her and claiming that he had no children. Which meant that he was disowning all of his kids, but it was in Aphra's nature to just focus on herself. Aphra was trying to stop him from attacking her but obviously that hadn't done much. Practically slamming her empty cup down, Aphra laid her head between her forearms. "I'm so sorry..." She mumbled out loud, pinning her ears back. "Roxie, I'm so sorry," There were so, so many things she was apologizing for here. Mainly for what had happened with Goldenluxury, but she couldn't find the right words to say about that right now. Not when the whole ordeal with her father was still in her mind. "I-I just wanted to prove Caesar wasn't a bad guy," Her words were interrupted by her sobs (and slight hiccups) but she couldn't really care right now. She just wanted to get rid of all her sorrows right now. Roxanne felt guilty about breaking the other's necklace which had been the only remnants of their mother, the guilt having eaten at her for the most part. She had been blinded by rage and the heat of the moment, once blood had spilled Roxie had lost control of what she had been doing. Almost like she had blacked out in that fiasco even so, it wasn't excuse for the horrible thing she had done. Roxanne had hurt Aphra even after the taller femme had reached out to her during her depressive state, she held in a breath just remembering it all. The time they had spent together had been dear to her even if she wouldn't outwardly admit it to her former rival now turned friendly acquaintance. Maybe it was time to get over the thoughts of Aphra ever stealing someone from her, Aphra had been for her. There was nothing to get angry about anymore. Maybe... They could even become good friends. The thought causing a flutter to rise through her stomach, her eyes half closed as she held onto the glass of piña colada, uncertainty lingering within her. Roxanne knew how it felt like to be disowned but she never felt all that bad about it especially since, well, she had been very young and the moment she had been weaned was when her father had taken her underneath his care. Her name was definitely a lot different than Aphra's name, her name meant dawn or bright, radiant one and it had been her father to give her the name. She didn't know what her sisters names meant but she was glad that her own wasn't as harsh as Aphra's though to be fair. The name was fairly unique aside from what it meant, Aphra would never be dirt to Roxanne. Not anymore anyways back then it might be something she would've used against the other femme but now, she just wanted to get away from their sorrows and spend time with one another. That's what friends did, right? Her gaze shifted over to turn in the direction of Aphra when the cup hit the counter practically demanding her attention at this point, her pupils widened in that moment only to dilate into a smaller size. A frown on her maw listening to the other begin to apologize, she wasn't sure of what exactly but she was certain that it was more than one thing and Roxie appreciated it even if her own guilt began to eat at her once more. She took a deep breath nudging the femme eith her elbow gently with a shy smile "It's alright, Aphra." She began a little hesitantly only to continue with her eyes lowered to her drink, a soft sigh escaping her "You're not the only one needing to apologize... I should've never broke your necklace knowing how much it mean t'ya. I'm sorry, I was a real asshole and there wasn't any excuse to my actions." She shifted a bit in her seat only to frown slightly hearing what she said next. So, that's what it had been about. That's who had scratched her up, an anger bubbled within her though her ears pressed against her head only to say with a light shrug. "I'm sorry, you had to find out what he's really like but... The guy's an asshole and a real grade A bag of dicks. You're his kid and he hurt you, hope he chokes." She huffed angrily. At this point, the whole 'breaking her necklace' thing was water under the bridge. Aphra felt no ill will towards Roxanne for what happened, as strange as that was. What's wrong with me? It was almost horrifying how much Aphra had changed her feelings towards the Privateer, and yet here they were against with another girl's night. If you had asked Aphra to do this before, she probably would've scoffed and laughed, but now in the moment, she felt like she couldn't give up the opportunity to hang out with Roxie. The chick was hilarious and not at all the snobby little bitch Aphra thought she was. But maybe that was because Caesar was no longer around, influencing everyone's thoughts on his daughter. Then again, he still was somewhat around, as evident by the fact that he attacked Trygve and Aphra. "It's okay," Aphra looked at Roxanne and tried to give her a smile through her tears. "I think it's about time I let my Momma go." She barely even remembered the other she-cat, so why had she kept the necklace for so long, anyway? She had no answer for that. At Roxie's little outburst about Caesar, Aphra couldn't help but let out a snort. "I've... always known he was a dick, to be honest." She said with a sigh. "But there's some part of me that thinks he just puts it on for show. I mean... he never was like that before." Not to her knowledge, anyway. But what if the persona Caesar put on in front of Aphra and her family was a show, and this was his true self? Aphra wasn't sure which was true at this point.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] |
