Brain Dead No Think || Rin - kinglykingstone - 04-20-2020 DALE COOPER ★ ★ ★ ★ ★ At this point, Cooper was old, real old. Nine years, which was quite a lot for a dog who had gone through as much hell as he had. While this body seemed to be nine years, it felt much more like his body was closer to twelve years old. He didn't move as much, wasn't nearly as spry as that five year old canine that had joined the Ascendants all those years ago. He couldn't run with the children and baby sit like he used to, he couldn't go chasing play all over like before. Once again, he was forced to his room but, maybe for good this time. His bones ached and he grew tired easily. He could feel his husbands prescense stronger than before. Cooper laid quietly in his bed, tail tucked over his paws at the old man dozed. His necklace splayed out his throat, a paw ovet the worn down wedding rings that sat srung on the sting. A thin blanket was draped over his thin frame, uch more boney than would would have seen in previous years. Age and stress had taken its toll on the poor man, along with being the eldest member of both the Elysium and renaming members of the Ascendants. Unaware he would soon gain an audiance, the canine lulled his head to the side and yawned. "Diane, Harry, I sure hope you've left room for me. It may be some time still but, I'm certainly no longer within my prime. Miss you..." Another yawn from the canine. © MADI
Re: Brain Dead No Think || Rin - Warringkingdoms - 04-25-2020 [font=trebuchet ms]Cooper seemed... unwell, as of late. Rin hadn't seen him since the day before, but she couldn't miss how he was thinning, showing his age in his eyes and in his posture. He had always been the type to work himself to sickness- she distinctly remembered the time he had become delirious enough to mistake Play for Suite, when aside from their white fur they looked little alike- but he had been younger then, more resilient. A fever was one thing for a creature in their prime, but Coop was long past his prime. Truthfully, Rin was a ways past her prime too, but she still had to be at least four years younger than Coop- possibly more. Approaching Coop's room, she found herself standing beside the entrance, silently listening to the strains of his voice. The names, she could pick out- Diane, Harry. Creatures she did not know, but important to Coop all the same. Probably dead or otherwise gone, if Rin had to guess. The exhaustion in Coop's voice was more important to her than the identities or fates of the ones he spoke about, but then... it wasn't about her. Her ears swiveling back, she stared down at the ground. "...Coop? May I come in?" she asked lowly, tugging at her scarf. She was just there to check on him, she told herself. If she kept an eye on him, he'd live a while yet. /late Re: Brain Dead No Think || Rin - kinglykingstone - 05-03-2020 DALE COOPER ★ ★ ★ ★ ★
Cooper's hearing may not be what it used to be but, he could still hear the sound of approaching paws as they stilled outside his door. His head lifted as his friend entered, tail thumping against the bed beneath him. "Hello, Rin," he would say with a smile. "You're always welcome in here." He would shuffle over slightly, making room for the feline if she chose to take it. A yawn would leave the canine as he rested his head back on his paws, eyes partially closing. With half-lidded eyes he would watch her, the cloud of age undeniable in his hazel eyes. © MADI
