honestly fake - painting - charactercemetary. - 04-07-2020

Painting was a fine art, something that provided culture and reflected culture. Why not share some of her own? Perhaps the kind that she was born with, or perhaps the kind she would make for herself. Either way, the serval had been enjoying herself. a canvas on a hill. She'd been staring out at the beachtown as the sun was coming up, light blue mingling with oranges and red. She dips her paw in some paint, starting the outline of the houses.
"but honestly, no one is calling your name" —-- writtenwish / elysium / serval / 6 months

[font=cambria]Adeline watched, white tail-tip flicking behind her. She had never seen anyone doing ... whatever this was. A strange, brightly-colored substance clung to the serval's paw, and she was batting at a blank square. Curiosity showed in her bright eyes and tipped head as she observed Writtenwish, until finally the slender kitten got to her feet and padded over. She wanted to investigate, not being the type to let an opportunity to learn pass by - and beside, all she had been doing on this hilltop was enjoying the spring sunshine as it soaked into her pelt. "What are you doing?" Adeline's meow was soft as she tipped her head back to peer at the larger feline, pausing a few paces away from the painter and her canvas. "And who're you? I'm Adeline."

Oh, it's that serval again. The one who'd joined a bit ago -- Writtenwish was her name, he's fairly certain. It's sheer coincidence that Videogames stumbles upon her -- and he probably would have moved on if it weren't for the curious voice of the unfamiliar kitten, quite frankly.
Well. There wasn't any harm in a bit of interruption, right?
"She's painting!" Videogames chimes as he trots over, quickly gauging that the kitten's question probably wasn't rhetorical. Videogames couldn't exactly blame her -- he probably wouldn't be that aware of painting if it weren't for Sheska, or all of Arrowhead's ravings about art being unproductive. Videogames was generally obligated to agree with his now-gone mentor, but ... well, it didn't really matter. "That's the seatown you're drawing, right?" Asked and worded mostly to help give a clue as to what painting even was -- it wasn't that hard to guess what Writtenwish would be painting even without looking at the canvas. "It's really good, so far!" Art was .. a hobby people were sometimes embarrassed of, right? Better to establish approval early on, in that case.

Felicity hadn't ever really dipped a paw into the arts before. Had never really seen a reason -- too many supplies to carry around with ease. It wasn't something that interested her, either. In theory, maybe. But it was far too much work for somebody like Felicity, with such a short attention span. Far too jittery, unable to even hold a painbrush.
No, seriously, how did anyone do it?
Not that that's really relevant here, considering this one is using her paws. Her name .. started with a w, right? Writ ... Written? Written something? Honestly, Felicity didn't particularly care.
"Is that how you do it? Using your paws?" Following promptly in her brother's footsteps, Felicity regards the children with half-lidded eyes. Ah, so naive and innocent. And her brother, trying as hard as he can to get along with them -- just about the only thing that's stayed consistent about him, as far as she can tell. Her paw taps against the ground, and she grins. "You do have water, right? To wash it off later?" God forbid she not bother, and just go around walking with paint all over her paw.

[font=trebuchet ms]Evidently, Rin wasn't the only sunrise-watcher on this particular day, though she was more surprised that she herself was awake this early. Slowly but surely, she was regaining her grip on life.

Approaching Writtenwish, Rin let her gaze flicker over to the other three- Videogames, Felicity, and Adeline- then looked over at the canvas. The streaks of color already bore a clear resemblance to the sea town in the early morning light. Rin felt the corner of her mouth twitch at Felicity's offhand comment, about needing water to wash off, but she offered no reply. If Writtenwish wanted to walk around with wet paint on her paws, that was her prerogative.

Glancing down at Adeline, she twitched the tip of her tail. "You said your name was Adeline? I'm Rin," she said, tugging at her scarf with one paw. It seemed odd to barge into their conversation like this, but it wouldn't do for her not to have introduced herself to all the members.
