it had been a duration of time since the beast had returned to the Pitt's land, a place that they had not called home for a time longer than that. the blind dragon wasn't here for a return or anything as casual as that, no, they were here on business. a business that they sorely wished someone else could have filled for them, while they had rested at home. but they were kingpin, and the kingpin had duties beyond themself and their immediate concerns and family. there was a group relying on them for protection and so much more. for that reason, maybe not that reason alone, the dragon lay in wait at the border, golden scales reflecting sunlight in dazzling rays, their head up and drawing in the scents upon the air, content to wait until someone showed up at the border. spreading their jaws, they let go of a massive roar, one that they knew the pitt's ardent would know and hopefully, come answer. they had news and more to share.

A roar splitting the air was enough to make Silvertides jump, the fox having been situated comfortably within his hollow up to this point. He wasn't sure he had ever heard such a fearsome noise before, and he wasn't sure he ever wanted to again. Despite this, the green and white vulpine found himself standing up and leaving his little makeshift home, paws sinking in hot sand. Evidently whoever was roaring wanted their attention, and he didn't want to think of what chaos could ensue if they didn't give it to them. Before long, Silvertides had found his way to the border, staring up at Bai Shi with wide, frightened grey eyes. A dragon? He had never even seen one of those before, and now here they were, towering over him even when in a comfortable and relaxed position. He resisted the urge to pin his ears back, not wanting to seem frightened when he was supposed to be a Pittian. He was supposed to look strong when he responded to those at the border... right? Either way, it took a minute or so before he was finally able to bark out, "I... I, uh, hi. My name is Silvertides. I'm a member here... can I help you with something, maybe?" Given how Silver had only joined quite recently, he had no prior knowledge of who Bai Shi was, and what they meant to their current ardent.
