[OOC: [member=4836]gael[/member] ]

This was something he had been putting off for sometime and perhaps it wasn’t wise of him to do that. After long hours of deep thought and the exploration of various scenarios and their outcome, Kydobi had come to the conclusions that it was imperative for him to build the Pitt’s infrastructure.

Him being the only head of power was insufficient and only made the target on his back huge. Let alone people running rampant.

Everyone had their right hand and that made them stronger. Kydobi’s weakness was not only his hubris but his stubborn inability to relinquish some responsibility. Years of isolation and independence made it hard for him to trust others in certain ways if not most.

Today, he would swallow his pride. If Jervis taught him one thing, it was to be open to change or your stagnant ways will get you killed. Kydobi had already experienced it once and did not want to again. So he was on the search for Gael. Asking various NPCs if they had seen him or not.

Finally he would see him, “Oh Gael! I need to speak to you in private.”

GAEL Ó BROIN
A creature of habit, the vulpine nearly felt surprised with a sudden intrusion.  An uncommon occurrence -- one, he saw coming, in hindsight.  For as long as the faerie had resided in the Pitt, he was the most sensible option to seek when needing help or advice.  If he was correctly interrupting the jaguar; private matters were often serious in some aspect after all.

Gael's ear twitched, golden eyes flashing back towards his original path -- it was his day to tend the garden while Aine inspected the Event Temple's herb stores.  The thought of deviating from his task made his brows furrow.

Fortunately, with Aine in the temple, the garden should be a private place, given its distance from the camp.  "If you don't mind talking while I work," he began, inclining his head thoughtfully,  "I was headed to Aine's garden -- it should be quiet for the time being."

[OOC: sorry if this seems off, I can’t seem to write Kydobi correctly rn]

Aine’s garden was a place Kydobi tried to avoid. He only did so because it was a place very special to the young druid and he did not want tarnish it.

So he would be hesitant to continue forward before realizing the chances of him destroying anything were slim to none.

“I don’t mind Gael. Lead the way.”

If the fox wanted, Kydobi would help him with any tasks needed.

Truth be told Kydobi wasn’t sure how to go about offering or even getting onto the topic of roles. He wasn’t even sure if the fox wanted to adopt more responsibility for the group. Although the lack of adults left him with no other choices. Besides, Gael had been within the Pitt for nearly as long as Kydobi had. Throughout the months Kydobi had bonded closely to Aine and in that he had gotten to witness the character of the O’broins.

They were good people.

“Well Gael,” he would start as he gently walked, “I’ve been meaning to discuss with you your rank within the Pitt. I was curious if you were interested in being my Vicar.”

GAEL Ó BROIN
The vulpine kept his ears perked as he walked, pleased to be permitted to continue with his routine.  Expecting the jaguar to present the matter with little coaxing, Gael simply allowed Kydobi to speak, paying close attention.

Vicar?  Truthfully, the faerie had expected this to be brought up eventually -- he had simply lacked the ambition to vocalize it first.  In the end, he simply preferred to think a decision such as this through until another initiated it.  At least Kydobi possessed the consideration to broach the subject privately first, rather than in a public meeting.

Kydobi required assistance.  The Pitt lacked leadership organization beyond Ardent; a fact that made Gael wary of potential anarchy.  Waiting for someone else to prove themselves worthy remained an option but not one he particularly enjoyed -- every day that passed without more authority brought more danger.  Especially if an emergency occurred before the rank was filled.

At the heart of it all was Aine -- she deserved to grow up in a safe environment.

He headed for the garden's patch of chamomile, studying the growing herbs as he considered the matter at hand.  It had been over a century since he commanded an authoritative position -- during a war no less.  And my family suffered for it in the end.

"I only want to protect Aine," he intoned, frown in place.  The past made him wary, but if he truly sought to better the future, he could not allow it to push him back -- inaction was an action in itself.

"If I am the one you trust to it, Kydobi," the one the jaguar wanted there, regardless of his few options, "then I am willing to stand by your side as Vicar."

[OOC: ]

So many things in his life were difficult that nowadays he actually found it harder to believe when they went so smoothly. Naturally when things actually did go his way he found himself not trusting it. That it wouldn’t last this long, that when something went right for him ten more things would go wrong.

Was Kydobi surprised when Gael mentioned Aine? No. In fact the brute had expected nothing less. Kydobi has quickly realized that Gael was mostly motivated if not totally motivated by his daughter. Which was something Kydobi could understand. Although the more he paid attention the more it became alarmingly clear that Aine was who Gael truly held loyalty to. That was why Kydobi was ever thankful the girl was so attached to him as well as the group. If he had Aine he had Gael. He feared what the man could become if there was no longer any Aine.

Regardless the girl was here, and he did love the little druid like his own. He was sure Gael knew this, Kydobi had demonstrated his love for the girl many times.

Silently he would watch the various plants gently move. If only Aine could nurture the whole land like this.

“Well, Im happy to have you. You’re the only one I really know... or at least better than anyone else here. I’ll announce it during the next meeting.”
