Why are we here? Just to suffer?

Within the underground dome, Marina found herself staring off into the ocean's wildlife once again. As she had previously done, she was intrigued in their free flowing attitude. How the ocean goers seemed to have no worries in the world was a mystery to her. As they swam along or flowed past the thin glass, multi-colored eyes watched in awe. The area was deeply serene to her (or at least until recently).

The place held memories to it though. Good memories. Regrettable memories. This is where they met. Not for the first time, but for the first time as more than acquaintances. Perhaps lovers... At least Marina thought so. That was a two way street though. Misunderstanding the situation, the jaguar found herself going down a hole. From discovering that the captain was pregnant to finding out Goldenluxury loved another, she descended. If only they hadn't met here... If only they didn't do it... If only she hadn't gotten pregnant... If only Marina wasn't so dumb.

As her thoughts flowed in, her eyes unfocused away from the ocean and towards the glass in front of her. Marina stared at her reflection. Tear had been unknowingly streaming down her face. With a colorful paw, she wiped away at her moist fur and then looked down at the floor, avoiding eye contact with herself. "Fuck," she choked up. Then she fell into silence, allowing her to contemplate once again.
