THE FIRES OF GREED WILL BURN THE WEAK // private - Hope Arcanium - 03-02-2020 She didn’t have the... privilege? Was that the correct term here? Honor? Ah, whatever. She didn’t have the honor of being involved with the god fights as much as she would have liked, seeing as how it didn’t just involve Rin anymore, but the entirety of Elysium. Elysium was also part of her extended family, and it now made this war much more personal. The longer she stayed around Rin to see the effects these events had on her, the more it made the rage within the hybrid boil, a desire to shred into the gods’ flesh herself was now a common feeling for her. A common goal and desire. Fuck these so-called gods that tried to kill their former followers just because they chose of their own free will that it was a horrible idea to keep doing so. Why grant that kind of power to people if you were to kill them for control? Player did have the occasional thought of ‘if I were a god...’ scenarios, and what she would correct and do right by those that chose to fly beneath her wings. But she never once thought of herself that highly, it was more of a... righteous thought process than actually desiring that power to begin with. She didn’t like the idea of having that kind of ability over people, and would likely instead, if it happened to be given to her, give the people freedom to do what they choose, so long as it was for the benefit of those around them and harmed none. Balance, is what she desired, freedom and justice against the wrong. Quietly in the silence of the night the feline-fox hybrid would walk into the deeper parts of Elysium territory, eyes ever watchful. Her main focus was on eliminating every target that deemed itself a threat to the group, especially if she felt, or knew, that it was tied to the gods that they were currently fighting. She was a predator hunting supernatural prey, her posture low to the ground, never staggering, gaze carefully trained on her surroundings. It was her time to punch a fucking god in the face. She would not be denied the pleasure of doing such a thing this time around. As soon as they came, she would strike. She would wound, and hopefully kill. Let them know that she had no time to fuck around, and refused to let them touch Elysium, let alone Rin or her girlfriend Kade. They were the last remaining original Ascendants, which gave her some sense of pride to fuel this endeavor, too. These feelings were what drove her to go to this extreme this night. She would not allow them into the territory without a fight, or death. When you threaten friends and family, someone was going to fucking get slapped at the very least. You didn’t touch them and get away with it. Her patrol hadn’t been going for long- and she soon felt as if she were being tailed. By what or whom, she had a hunch. But she couldn’t be sure until they showed themselves. She was lowkey glad it was her they were after and not the others, at least not yet. She stopped suddenly, giving a harsh barking command, “Show yourself!” Re: THE FIRES OF GREED WILL BURN THE WEAK // private - Verdigris - 03-03-2020 [font=trebuchet ms]Erinya was not a patient creature, and yet here beyond the border she waited. Nemhain will find her way out here, they said. She'll be alone, you can vent your pent-up rage against her, they said. Well, several hours after taking her position, neither the target nor her owner were anywhere to be seen. In fact, no one was out here. Maybe, if someone eventually showed their face, her master would relent and allow her to attack them instead. The goal had been to leave Warringkingdoms without her little bodyguard, but giving Elysium a reason to hate her... surely that was just as worthwhile in the long run. Catching a scent, Erinya snapped to attention, her eyes sweeping over the trees. There- a glimpse of white. It was that feline-fox, one of the closest Elysites to Warringkingdoms. Master, she messaged over their bond, it's that- Yes, it's Playerone, her master interrupted, their smirk almost audible over the communication. Of course- they could see everything she saw. Go ahead. But make sure no one else overhears. Not a problem. She'd make this quick. Ascending to the skies with a quick beat of her wings, she flew after Playerone, being sure to keep her distance. Once Playerone emerged from the trees out into the open, the wyvern could end it with a single blow. Her eyes scanned the territory around them, making sure no one else was nearby. The last thing she needed was for Warringkingdoms, Nemhain, or Skyborne-knew-who-else to storm in and ruin everything. The sudden demand of "show yourself" caught her attention, and she glanced back towards Playerone. She had to be bluffing- if she actually knew where Erinya was, she'd have made an attack. Still, it was time to change tactics. Checking briefly to ensure that the two of them were alone, then turning back towards her new target, Erinya sent a harsh gust of wind through the forest in the direction of Playerone, then descended to the ground with a loud thud. Electricity crackled across her wings and legs, and she slammed one foot into the dirt, sending a shockwave towards Playerone. The wind was knocked out of her as she struggled to get back on her feet, hearing the loud thud as the wyvern landed. Just as I thought, she shook her head, looking up to the beast before her, watching as electricity began to crackle across their wings and legs and by then Playerone was standing with much better balance. Just in time to, as she watched the creature slam one of their feet into the ground, sending a shockwave in her direction. Her legs then surged with energy as she ran in the opposite direction of the blast, before taking a wild curve and running towards the wyvern, hoping to catch her off guard. “Let’s get this over with.” She muttered, summoning as much strength as she could to jump up and attempt to give the wyvern’s face a nasty scratch with her claws, before attempting to jump back up and kick with a back leg, hoping to land a blow to the wyvern’s jaw. These fights weren’t fair, and she was a bit rusty, but she wouldn’t give up, even with as much of a size and power difference between them. But strength and size alone can be evened out with skill and cunning. “I hope you didn’t arrive just to disappoint me.” The Elysite taunted, a faint smirk on her face. To attack her, alone, in the dead of night? This creature had only one purpose then- to kill her or Rin. Perhaps both, considering her friendship with Rin and Nemhain by extension. A kill to damage psychologically would make sense in this scenario. She remained at the ready to attack as well as defend, should her blows land in some shape or form. She was a pretty quick creature, if she could say so herself. That was what many had told her in fights in the past. It was one of her many strengths, as well as her intellect. But her temper could use some toning down, as it didn’t help her much as she saw from experience. Like the wind gust earlier. That was from her not paying attention and being too caught up in her own rage. But this would be a whole different game. She could sense that already. Re: THE FIRES OF GREED WILL BURN THE WEAK // private - Verdigris - 03-06-2020 [font=trebuchet ms]Erinya smirked as the wind caught Playerone off guard, her eyes watching the hybrid closely as she banked and ran back towards her- forming a defensive stance. Evasive maneuvers would be ineffective here, considering she was several times the hybrid's size, and was in a rather tight space besides. Still, she could tank whatever her opponent threw at her. As Playerone lunged, Erinya tilted her face so that the hybrid's claws hit only her cheek instead of any vitals- the kick hit her jaw surprisingly hard, but rather than granting her opponent the satisfaction of a wince, she grinned through gritted teeth. Play had some guts, but all the guts in the world couldn't change the fact that she was outmatched. Her taunting, however, made Erinya raise a brow. "You've got some nerve," she growled, her grin widening. "We're just getting started." With a flick of her wing, bolts of electricity extended in a circle around Play, in hopes of hemming her in. Then, with another stomp, Erinya commanded the winds to rise around Play, spiraling in a small tornado. No need to go overboard yet, she figured. If they made too much noise, someone would come by to interrupt their little duel... insomuch as you could call this a duel. Erinya would call it an execution, personally. Erinya health: 95% current form: wyvern with dark blue scales and electric blue eyes powers: air elementals, electric elementals, mental bond to the Skyborne Re: THE FIRES OF GREED WILL BURN THE WEAK // private - Hope Arcanium - 03-20-2020 Playerone was never too great when it came to dodging electricity attacks by elemental users, but this was life or death. She was doing her best to move out of the way, narrowly weaving in and out of the strikes, but on the last second the last few that Erinya had summoned struck true. The hybrid felt it through her entire body as she cried out in agony, stunned by the sudden shocks upon her form. Her posture swayed as she tried to become steady again, feeling the winds pick up around her. Fuck. This was going to be bad if she didn’t make this next move count. Just as the tornado began to form around her, she was able to find the speed and escape, narrowly dodging the attack. With Erinya hopefully distracted by trying to maintain the tornado she had been building, the Fox-feline hybrid would take the opportunity to make a good attack. With a great leap and teeth bared, Player would attempt to sink her claws into the wyvern’s flesh and hold on tight, aiming to rake down the creature’s skin with her back legs and even trying a few bites if she could. She was not used to this and hadn’t had to really go this hard punching someone, but damn did that lightning shit hurt! She refused to go down- she had a clan, friends and a girlfriend to go back home to. She would not die today, or let Erinya get away with this alive. That was certain. One way or another, she would help Rin take out the gods, protect Elysium, and by extension everyone she cared for. This is a battle for survival, and the rules of nature applied. “Come at me for real!” She boldly taunted the minion, continuing to try piercing flesh as much as possible if she had successfully landed on the wyvern and executed the previous attacks. //Playerone Kennedy- Elysium Health: 75% Dice roll on attack: Nat 20 (for personal record) Re: THE FIRES OF GREED WILL BURN THE WEAK // private - Hope Arcanium - 03-30-2020 //gentle boop |
