the simulation - re-intro - arcy - 02-26-2020 Videogames
[div style="opacity: 70%;"]897 subscribers Continue. Videogames wakes up. It feels like deja vu. He opens his eyes, thick black dripping from his mouth and his nose and his right eye, and he can't -- remember. He can't remember anything. He'd been having a normal day last he remembers, he thinks, but it feels so distant. He'd had a normal day, and then it's blank. Snatches of something, impressions of feelings. Videogames can't remember the last few months. And months had to have passed, because the weather'd changed. It's .... nearing the end of winter, he thinks? It's still cold. Very, very cold. Videogames uncurls, blinking blearily against the light. A brief snatch of pain, for only the briefest second, and then -- it's gone in another blink, as if it never was at all. He thinks he should be more alarmed by all of this, but all Videgames can feel is a blankness, an empty sense of contented tiredness. The serval pushes himself to his paws. The black ooze is dripping onto the ground. Was it blood, or something else? Videogames thinks he'd remember if his blood was black. He lifts a paw to his face, only really succeeding in smearing it over his fur. That's .. fine. Videogames yawns and stretches. He's been away for a while. He doubts anyone remembers him, except maybe Lemy if he's still here, and who doesn't even like him. It would be so easy to leave. So aimless. It's not like he ever did anything. But it'd be lonely, he thinks. Lonely enough to be worth the effort of getting re-initiated, of being unable to explain why, exactly, he'd vanished. ... .. That settles it, then. Videogames shakes out his fur, feeling like something other. As though he were only confined to his body in an abstract sense, running through the motions. It doesn't improve through the whole walk back to town, long though it is. ... Now then. If only Videogames could remember where his stuff is. Because he really, really isn't sure. The serval glances around with poorly concealed panic. He hopes nobody touched it -- he wouldn't blame them if they did, but right now he's having enough trouble as is. Category:

Re: the simulation - re-intro - fulzanin - 02-26-2020 New people were fun. People that Sanzu had yet to interact with fell into that category. The young dragon was a hyperactive thing, bouncing around and exploring as much as she could as fast as she could. Small claws scrabbled and pulled her along as she rushed about in random ways, seeking for something to do. A new face certainly fell into that category. Large ears perked and soon her scrambles were taking her forward again. There is some odd, black liquid on the other's face. Sanzu assumes it's paint, for her childish mind cannot associate it with anything else. The cold is terrible. She has asked others for advice to stay warm in the past. Move around a lot had been her answer. For a reptile that did not generate her own body heat, it did little to aid her. The cold was a little numbing, but Sanzu would not let it deter her as she charged over. They looked...concerned? "Hi!" She chatters, her wings flapping to slow her sporadic scrabble forward, "I'mmsa Sanzu!" She introduces, bright red eyes looking at the other with excitement and thrill. "Why d'you have paint everywhere?" The dragon then inquires, her childishness exposing itself verbally while her large ears flop around to aid the befuddled expression present on her face.
today the sun is shining my way TAGS 9/19/19: Re: the simulation - re-intro - nemhain. - 02-26-2020 To Nemhain, Videogames could not truly be considered new. She would certainly be new to the other, since the massive fenghuang had never encountered him personally before, but he was not new in nature to her. This was due to the fact that, by just sifting a little bit through Rin's memories, Nemhain could come up with many encounters with Videogames, and knew who he was. Or, well, knew him as far as who Rin knew him to be, anyways. She'd made it a habit to go through Rin's memories fairly often these days. Not out of some desire to be nosey – there was really no need, considering that any significant event in Rin's life would surely produce such emotions that Nem would come running – but rather because she was curious. She liked to stay up to date on all things going on around her, and she also liked knowing about the people surrounding her, even if she had never met them herself. This sometimes led to a few awkward scenarios, where people found themselves disturbed by this strange, seemingly immortal spiritual creature already knew about them, but Nem didn't really see the fear or worry in it. After all, she had pledged herself as a protector of Elysium, and most everyone she already knew from Rin's head was an Elysite, so they had nothing to worry about from her. Nemhain had been flying casually overhead when the sound of Sanzu's voice had alerted her to the presence of another, and she had immediately felt curious, as well as a little defensive. The Captain was defeated, yes, but there would no doubt be more threats in the future. Anyone who didn't have an alibi or trust could be considered a potential new threat, and Nem kept that fact constantly at the forefront of her mind, particularly when it came to Sanzu. The young dragon was only a child, and often held the extreme naivete that children naturally did, so it was necessary for Nemhain, as well as others, to make sure that Sanzu was protected, just as Nem had begun to do with Spanishkit as well. Landing nearby to where Sanzu was happily bouncing around with enthusiasm, Nemhain had to crane her neck slightly to look down at Videogames, inspecting him slowly. She recognized the male himself, but as far as she could see from Rin's old recollection od him, she didn't remembed Videogames leaking. Nem chirped deeply after a moment of inspection, wondering if perhaps she should go and get some bandages, or perhaps some herbs for any possible injuries, "Hello there, Sir Videogames. I am Nemhain... are you injured in some way? Is that why you have this... liquid, all over you?" Re: the simulation - re-intro - candorosa - 02-26-2020 [align=center][div style="width:70%; text-align: justify; padding: 1px; font-family: helvetica;"]Truth be told, Lemy had almost forgotten about Videogames. With the whole mess with the gods and that thing at the border, he'd spent his time worrying about the other things that could kill him. A man from his past seemed like a lesser threat than gods and a flesh-eating beast. As winter turned to spring, and the snow melted away, as did his worry that Videogames would knife him in his sleep. On certain days though, he'd keep an eye out for the splash of gold and green that heralded Videogames' arrival. He would be content with forgetting about the serval if he knew where the hell he disappeared off to. Once again, it felt as if Videogames had disappeared in a cloud of smoke, and if Lemy trusted his memories any less, he would have doubted the serval even existed in the first place. So when he spots the man near Sanzu, coated in an unknown liquid? All Lemy felt was an odd sense of surprise, followed by suspicion and an ever-familiar paranoia. He narrowed his blue eyes, observing for a few moments. Then, his expression cleared and he skipped over just as Nemhain landed near Videogames. He took a cursory sniff to see if he could piece together what the liquid was; no dice. Frankly, Lemy was having a hard time placing a description onto the black liquid. "Heya heya, Viddy! Did'ya decide to take a swim out inna oil spill?" Lemy asked, head tilting in mock curiosity. He would have swung his arm around Videogames again, but he didn't want to be covered in Mystery Water. "I missed ya y'know, we had a picnic together but then ya went 'poof!'" He sighed with disappointment, casting his blue gaze to the ground with an exaggerated frown. Re: the simulation - re-intro - arcy - 02-26-2020 Videogames
[div style="opacity: 70%;"]897 subscribers A voice. Videogames jolts. He's not -- he doesn't feel ready to deal with people. What happened to him? What's this liquid on him? Where did he leave his stuff, where does he even live? Videogames doesn't have answers. He needs answers. But he doesn't want to shove people away, either ... With no further pause, Videogames' maw lights up with a grin. "It's nice to meet you!" He tells the young dragon, tail swishing. His ears twitch -- someone else is approaching, dropping from the sky. He chances a glance up. He doesn't recognize her, but she seems to recognize him. This doesn't actually bother him much -- a brief flash of curiosity, then nothing. He tips his head in greeting. Then .. Lemy. "I dunno what it is," Videogames says, cheerful as ever. This is the truth, but Videogames suspects that it is, in fact, blood. ... He has more investigation to do, once he gets home. There doesn't seem to be a wound, after all. "I woke up with it on," And his chest, and the ground. Videogames is still grinning. Nemhain, Sanzu, and Lemy. Videogames, though he may try, can't help the flash of trepidation. "This seems to happen a lot, huh," He chirps, sheepish. To be fair, the last time, he'd .. well. At least he'd known what'd happened last time. Category:

Re: the simulation - re-intro - nemhain. - 02-28-2020 Shifting a little bit upon her talons, Nemhain allowed her eyes to wander over Videogames, taking in the small feline's form curiously. He seemed a bit antsy, being surrounded by various people, only one of which he actually knew. Still, she could definitely tell how hard the male was trying at his attempts to be friendly amidst his confusion and slightly worry over what had happened to him. In return, Nem offered him a cool little smile that curled her beak upwards, just enough to break the usual stoic and neutral expression that ruled her face. She then spoke, reached a hesitant talon out to poke at Videogames's chest, as if testing whether or not his ribs would just collapse inwards at the slightest touch, "Well... are you having any difficulties breathing? Any pain? If not, then the strange liquid is not a cause for concern, at least for now." It was obviously still very much a curiosity, even if it wasn't hurting the feline, but Nemhain was more worried about something that would immediately need medical attention. Given how casual Videogames was acting, the fenghuang was fairly sure he wasn't feeling some type of pain, but he could've just been hiding it away. It would be far from the first time Nemhain had witnessed someone shoving down their internal pain for the satisfaction of others. After all, she was the persona of Rin, which meant she had seen more than a few times how the magna hid away her feelings of pain, both physical and not, in order to appease those around her. It was an annoying habit that only ever brought more pain in the long run, so Nem was not eager to see someone else doing the same. Re: the simulation - re-intro - candorosa - 02-28-2020 [align=center][div style="width:70%; text-align: justify; padding: 1px; font-family: helvetica;"]Lemy listens to Videogames' explanation in silence, eyes briefly coming to rest on a small puddle of the black liquid. He narrows his eyes in contemplation then smooths his expression back to a inoffensive smile. As Nemhain goes to poke at Videogames, he inches closer to the serval. He nods along with Nemhain's words, aiming to pat Videogames' head while avoiding the liquid in what would be a reassuring manner, if it weren't for the amount force behind it. "Yeah, what Nemmy says! It's probably just tar or ink, though, y'know?" Except neither tar nor ink smelt like this, but Lemy couldn't pinpoint the actual smell. "Sure does!" He agrees with Videogames' sheepish remark without missing a beat. "But anywaysies, I forgive ya, Viddy! Just don't go around disappearin' on me again, okay?" He punctuates his familiar words with an attempt to pat his cheek, then hops away from the serval and over to Sanzu's side. Re: the simulation - re-intro - Warringkingdoms - 02-29-2020 [font=trebuchet ms]The voice of Sanzu calling out to a new individual drew Rin's attention away from the notes she'd been scrawling away at, her brows furrowing. Logically, the odds of another... incident occurring were minimal, but Rin dropped her notes and hurried over to the scene anyway. Couldn't be too careful. Arriving next to Nemhain, Rin blinked upon recognizing the golden feline as Videogames. ...Certainly, the black liquid was new, and the fact that he either didn't know what it was or wasn't willing to divulge the information was concerning. He appeared to be breathing fine, and didn't immediately appear to be in pain, but Rin nonetheless shared Nemhain's concern. Still, everyone was calm. She should be too. ...Actually, she was feeling okay. More okay than she would have expected. Was that worrying in its own right? Shaking her head, Rin approached Videogames. "I'd like to check your pulse," she said, extending a paw forward. She'd probably look him over for anything else that was just the slightest bit off, that might give her a clue as to what the black liquid was. Re: the simulation - re-intro - arcy - 03-03-2020 Videogames
[div style="opacity: 70%;"]897 subscribers Oh, jeez. He didn't really expect people to persist -- was it just that people had blindly trusted his judgement, then? Are the people here just sorta ... like that? It's not like the black looks much like blood, after all. .. Granted, if Videogames came to the theory on his own even with the awareness it had been red, it's not that far-fetched to assume other people without context would assume so. He probably should have cleaned it off better. He really needed to investigate this better. "Guys, I'm pretty sure I'd know if my blood was black," Videogames laughs off without missing a beat. Which is true. There's no logical reason for Videogames' blood to go from red to black during his absence, anyways. Lemy had already given some suggestions as to what it could be, in any case -- better to just hope people take his lead. "No pain or discomfort, nope!" It's better to go along with it. Pushing people away would just make them suspicious, after all. And he's not lying, in any case. Videogames knows better than that. What's the point of medics if you're just gonna lie whenever you're hurt? As long as you weren't -- weak about it, it was fair to be hurt. That was what Arrowhead had said. "Uh, yeah, sure," A pulse check seemed like a little much, but if it made her feel better, Videogames wasn't opposed. Pulse checks were on the neck, right? He thinks it's at a normal rate, but it's not like Videogames knows what that is, exactly. "I'll do my best!" He chirps to Lemy now, maybe a little belatedly. He tolerates Lemy's pat with all the grace he can muster -- which is a lot more than one would think, considering that the first time Lemy had touched him, Videogames had nipped him. Videogames didn't feel anything, now -- which means it's really his duty to make up for that nip by literally not responding in any way. Mildly suspicious? Yeah. Better than faking a grimacing or making a sign of weakness obvious, even if it was something in the past, just for consistency's sake? Also yes. Category:
