The sun was starting to lower itself, easing down into sweet rest. Over the barren and dead land, burnt trunks and debris were glazed in a golden hue. Long shadows casted far beyond reach.

Usually Kydobi avoided this area as much as he could. It drained him of hope and energy to see so much beauty wasted and unappreciated by bitter strangers. People who had no clue what was truly going on within the Pitt. Yet they felt justified enough to come and destroy their home. The amount of children now finding themselves to these barren lands was alarming. Kydobi wouldn’t turn them down, he would try hard to help them. Because they were not monsters, and he never did this just to prove accusations wrong. He did this because he couldn’t stand to see people turned away and thrown back into the fray.

Too many times in his life had he experienced such indifferent coldness. But now, perhaps he understood it. But he wouldn’t change. Someone had betrayed Kydobi. A newcomer had gone against the wishes or unknowingly had done so. Someone had caused a lot of strife.

But to fix his people he needed to heal the land. Mental healing meant nothing if the body was starving while doing it.

So that was what he was doing out here, looking at the land and trying so hard to conjure up some inkling of an idea. Something. His eyes look at a patch of dirt, focusing on it.

Immediately the small circle began to tremble and roll in. Churning itself. The earth here felt different than the healthier parts... felt dry. Less fulfilling. Not much life for Kydobi to grasp on and harness. The panther would sigh, his paws crunching under crisp twigs.
