Izuku, since arriving here, hadn't exactly been ... around ... much. He found it unlikely that anyone had noticed, in all honesty. Izuku was new, and he was small, and not particularly memorable. ... Probably. .. He was pretty good at hanging around the outskirts, in any case.Izuku didn't need any attention on him. Attention didn't generally work in his favor, and he needed -- he needed to stay here, at least for now. Izuku didn't have anywhere else to go, and he didn't know how to live on his own, and -- and maybe, if he stayed in place long enough, All -- his mentor might be able to find him maybe. It felt like an far-off dream, hoping for such a thing. Nevermind that he wasn't worth -- right. Right. Izuku's going to be brutally honest here. This place is scary. Just not .. in the way he's used to. The inhabitants are large, and and also apparently pirates, but there weren't any -- any cruel grins, or explosions. Not yet. And granted Izuku hasn't ... talked to anyone yet, but --. Anyways. Izuku's been exploring, since he'd turned up. He doesn't have to worry about being -- being found, or anything, cause he's -- he probably won't get in trouble. Exploring was a good portion of the reason he'd ended up here to begin with, after all. And it's not something Izuku would be interested in under normal circumstances, but these aren't normal circumstances, and, for the moment, he's content with it. Wings forced half-spread for balance, poking at this and that. Izuku hops off the ledge, shaking himself out as his paws land on the ground. The whole endeavor is ... a little more aimless than the kitten particularly cares for, but it's comforting in its own way. And that's .. that's good enough for him, he supposes. Re: desert to glass - octane - OCTANE. - 02-21-2020 Green was one of his favorite colors. It just went so well with him, the green stim, the green outfit, Caustic's green outfit, so on. Even his jump pads were green! It was just part of his brand, his personal persona. Even the mohawk on this cheetah was dyed green and black! Just like his hair had been! Of course, Octane had his own mission. He still had to find his far away lover, search this island for him and hopefully, return to their demension together. He didn't really want that, but it was part of his job. If he could just have a little alone time with him, only him, he would call it a success. For now, he needed to set up shop here, meet the locals and collect info. He was on break, though. That meant Octane has taken to the territory, mask pulled over his muzzle and running along. This was endurance training, for the moment. The cheetahs refusal to run at top speed for longer than thirty seconds was fucking annoying, he needed to go faster, harder, stronger, longer-! A little green body of fur stuck out against the ground, and Octane didn't have long enough to ponder what it was until he was running into Izuku at 30mph. If they impacted, Octane would scramble to his feet, metal legs scrapping together in an awful noise. "Ohohoho!! Little dude!! You should watch where you're going!" Izuku couldn't say he'd exactly prepared for somebody to come barreling into him. He was used to keeping an eye on his immediate surroundings, and yes, maybe his ears had pricked when he heard ... something in the distance. No, he had ... not done anything about it. He comes to regret this decision very promptly. It's just sort of .. he looks up, someone's running, and Izuku -- panics. He doesn't move, just braces himself and makes himself small.A pained yelp breaks from Izuku's maw as Octane effectively trips over him. It could, however,.. be better described as Izuku being kicked very hard, and he skids, trying to keep his brain from exploding into a panic at the rush of pain. The pain isn't wholly the fault of the crash, untreated wounds dragging over the soil, but it certainly adds to the mess. 30 mph is, after all, very fast, on top of Octane's legs being metal. It takes him a moment to register Octane's words, less because of the pain and more because of the lingering panic that Izuku was, to dubious success, attempting to quash. The scraping of metal doesn't help, simply adding to the cacophony of noise in Izuku's head. No, no, it wasn't on purpose, yes, Izuku's a little hurt. It's fine. It's fine. "I - I'm sorry!" Izuku yelps, as he always does. It seems all of his recent interactions have started as such. Izuku, wailing. The kitten, with a trash of a bobbed tail, struggles to his paws and shifts his weight in a way that one, if paying attention, might recognize as testing. ... ... Izuku's probably fine. He thinks he's fine. Better not to worry about it. "I, um --" Izuku breaks off from further apologies. There's no point, and -- and All Might isn't here to be affectionately chiding about it, but if Izuku can just --. He diverts. Izuku hasn't talked to anyone in a while, and if Octane is bothered, it's not like Izuku's gonna keep him. "H -- How fast was that, do you know? Why were you running?" His voice shakes, just slightly, but there's genuine curiosity to it. Re: desert to glass - octane - OCTANE. - 02-25-2020 Octane's brown eyes stared down at Izuku, and the cheetah immediately began bouncing on his toes, an idle animation he called it, then looked away to the environment as he waited for the kid to come back to reality. People were always so slow, everyone was so slow. People were boring, only blood and combat had any real entertainment to it. Oh, he was up! Octane pulled his running mask down with a paw, letting himself take in deep breathes of air. He's already laughing. "What are you sorry for 'ese? You were only in my running path!" That... probably came out wrong. He wants to ramble off already, about his day and his life, but- his tail wavered back and forth. "Oh, how fast?" He looked back behind him, as if trying to do the numbers in his head. "I don't know, but it was nowhere near my top speed!" Re: desert to glass - octane - arcy - 02-28-2020 [div style="color:#0f9b3e; font-size: 20pt;"]
Izuku, for his part, seems fairly bewildered by Octane's question. And the fact that he'd stayed at all, considering the way he was bouncing on his pawpads with what .. Izuku assumed to be more energetic impatience than worried impatience."You -- you said I should watch where I'm going," Izuku says blankly, as though he can't comprehend what registers to him as a complete turnaround. He'd honestly been expecting a bit of chewing out, and it was a bit difficult for the kitten to switch tracks, blinking at Octane with a touch of continuing bewilderment, before he shakes his head. He perks up fairly promptly, though. Not his top speed? He can go faster? "What is your top speed, then?" He chirps, bobbed tail giving a thrash. He's probably getting somewhat sidetracked -- Izuku'll hear something interesting and then latch onto it like there's no tomorrow. Izuku is curious by nature, after all, especially when it relates to to unique skills or abilities. Or ... quirks. "Is it faster than the average cheetah's, or about the same?" |
