SUN'S IN THE SKY ☆ birthday - roan ; - 02-06-2020 [align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — The 5th of each month was a very special day for one Roan Ó Faoláin-Roux. Mainly, because it was his birthday. It was his birthday, and the young male was now yet another month older, being 5 moons old and extremely proud of himself. For what, you may ask? Well... he wasn't really sure. He supposed he was proud of himself for just surviving, but in all honesty, he liked to think that this last month – the first month where he had truly been allowed out of his and his mama's small old little hut – was something worth being proud over. After all, he had been interacting with a ton of new and super interesting people over the last month, and he had been learning all sorts of new things. That was something to be proud of, right? He found himself nodding a little bit as he thought about it, sitting inside he and his mother's new home. The young draconic male had been seeing to flattening out and taking care of his own fur, making himself look nice and presentable before he went out for the day. After all, what kind of birthday boy would he be if he went out there with bedhead and bleary eyes? A bad one, obviously. Honestly, the boy didn't have any official plans for how exactly this day was supposed to go in his mind. This was the first birthday where he was allowed to go out on his own and interact with more than just Roxanne, so it was totally new and unexplored territory. Previously, he had just spent his birthday inside with his mama, listening to her tell him stories as he ate little pieces of cake and played with whatever toys she had brought him. To be honest, that probably still would've been just the most perfect birthday ever to him, even now, but he wanted to try something different. He wanted to see what it was like, spending a birthday out of the house and spending time with all of the new people in his life, like Ahab and Salem and Goldie – even though Goldie was technically family, and he'd known of her even before he had ever left the house. The thought of it just filled Roan with excitement, and as he shook himself out after his grooming, he couldn't help the happy smile that lingered on his face. He turned his head to let out a soft and shrill whistle from between his teeth, his voice happy and squeaky still, "Kal! Brunhild! Come on, let's go tell everybody what day it is!" The crocodiles regarded him with their usual neutral expressions and the occasional snap of their fangs together, but that was enough of a confirmation for Roan, and soon enough he was racing outside. Roan felt his chest puffed up with pride as he trotted into the main area of The Typhoon's territory, right near the front of the tavern. People were milling about all around he and the crocs flanking him, most of them getting ready for or already engaging in their usual morning activities. However, this was no usual morning, and Roan found himself reminding everyone of that as he climbed utop a nearby rock, smooth to the touch but covered in sand, "Hey, everybody! Dia dhuit! Guess what today is?" He was practically vibrating with excitement as he let the rhetorical question hang in the air, several heads turned towards the young boy. Eventually the anticipation got to him, and he burst out enthusiastically, "It's my birthday! I'm five months old now, and I'm getting all big! ¿No es genial? (Isn't that great?)" He wasn't sure exactly what sort of reaction he was expecting from the crowd, but hopefully no one was too harsh on him. Roan hadn't quite yet gotten past his crybaby phase, even with another month under his belt. Of course, Roxanne would never forget the day that Roan was born. It was the haze in her life had finally lifted, the day that she had blessed with someone so significant that brought her genuine happiness, and the one she had been making memories with since that day. Most of his birthdays had been within the safety of their old hut where Roxie would bake him a small cake just made for the two of them, tell stories, and just spend time with one another. That's what it meant to be mother and son, Roxie had already spent most of her night within the new kitchen of her home. A smile adorned her features not minding the fact that she was stuck there for the time, she knew that Roan would go outside and present himself to the world with both Kal and Brunhild at his heels. That left her with Lorelei, who was slumped near the oven for the warmth, Roxanne was trying to prepare something special for Roan especially since this would be his first birthday that he would be out of the house. She made him one of his favorite cakes along with some cream cheese filled cupcakes, she would decorate the cake with frosting. Each tier decorated with a few macaroons that she had decided to keep from the potluck event, a tired smile tugged at her lips as she would let out a soft breath. Using a soft green frosting, she had made would she write; Happy Birthday, Roan. Roxanne eventually got the cake placed onto a little red wagon, she couldn't have any of the crocodiles carry it since they seemed preoccupied with keeping Roan safe. It didn't takes long for the draconic feline to bring the wagon over to where her son was standing, she couldn't help but feel pride swell in her chest at the mere sight of him. That was her son and he was going to be an apprentice one day, the thought pulled slightly at her heart strings knowing that one day he was going to outgrow her and possibly the way she coddled up to him all the time. She bit her lip shoving those thoughts away as she would raise her voice speaking with a twinkle in her eyes "What's a birthday boy without a birthday cake? Feliz cumpleaños, mi cielo!" She purred loudly pushing the cake forward, there were already lit candles ready for Roan to make a wish. One. Two. Three. Four. Five. Just to think, one day, he'd be six months old. Her heart ached once more. [glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: SUN'S IN THE SKY ☆ birthday - ROSEMARY - 02-07-2020 [align=center]
Roxie told Rosemary about having a nephew, but the shut-in hadn’t actually seen her nephew. However, she made a damn good effort to show up for the kid’s monthly birthday party. With her emotional support crocodile for assistance, the ocelot wandered through the Typhoon’s territory. The tavern always housed the largest crowds, so she always avoided it, but now she walked with Eri at her heels. The piebald crocodile didn’t give a shit if she needed to stop and pet his head for a few minutes. In fact, he enjoyed the attention, and Rosemary could breath a sigh of relief. Too many people. Always too many people, with their minds closed to her and her mind closed to them. But she kept going, until she reached the tavern’s facade. Just another mutated feline creature with a crocodile. Strange, really, how getting outside and socializing with her proper family made her feel less odd. “Happy Birthday, Roan,” she said, forked tail flicking, Her four eyes didn’t know what to do with themselves – mostly, they looked at Roxie, Roan, and the crocodiles, but they kept darting to the meandering people. She sighed out an exhale. And then breathed again. She pawed a little package off Eri’s back, and pushed it towards the draconic kitten. Inside was a copy of Prince & Knight by Daniel Haack; she hoped the kid liked the adventure novel. She hadn’t been sure of his reading level, so hopefully that wasn’t too low level for him. waded through the spirits like a flood on the floor SHE PUSHED THE WATER INSIDE Re: SUN'S IN THE SKY ☆ birthday - roan ; - 02-09-2020 [align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — The first two other crewmates to arrive to his proud announcement of another month passing were none other than his beloved Mama, and his aunt. It wasn't surprising that they were the first ones who had come over to greet him, the both of them more than likely having been planning their celebrations and gifts for days, if not weeks now. While most other children might've been bored of the sight of their family after so long spending time exclusively with them, Roan instead found himself delighted. The sight of his mother alone was enough to make a grin tug at his muzzle, but when he caught sight of the sweets that she was towing with her as well? The boy was practically over the moon, rushing down from the rock he was on as fast as his legs could carry him without him stumbling face first into the sand. He was tempted to just go straight for the cake, but he didn't want Roxie to feel underappreciated for how much hard work she had definitely put into it. So instead he threw himself at his Mother's chest, hugging her tightly and burying his little face up against her fluff. He allowed his head to rest there for a moment before he spoke, sounding happy and teary all at once, "Gracias, mamá. Te amo! (Thank you, Mama. I love you!)" Once he'd gotten out his slightly choked up words, he stepped back, moving in front of his cake. Hunkering down in front of the mound of sweetness and macaroons, Roan took a deep breath inward, filling up his lungs as much as he could before it hurt. He then blew out the candles, watching as the flames danced around frantically before being effectively snuffed out. He grinned and said to his mother and Rosemary, wiggling a little, "I hope that my wish comes true!" In his mind, his wish came true every month, since he always wished for his family to be happy, and healthy. He'd seen nothing of the hardships that effected his family in the past, so he thought it always just remained, guarding over them all. Once his wish had been made, Roan looked over towards Rosemary, his eyes lighting up at his aunt. When he saw the package being pushed at him, he blinked before moving over, using his tiny claws to carefully peel away the wrapping. When he saw the book inside, he let out a delighted gasp, throwing himself forward to hug Rosemary's leg, "Thank you, aunt Rose! I can't wait to read this... I'm sure it'll be great. Do you wanna have cake with Mama and I?" He didn't know what Rosemary's eating habits were like, and he certainly couldn't eat his cake all on his own, so he figured he should ask. The ocelot’s four eyes blinked independently of each other, but all pulled wide with surprise as the little one hugged her leg. The little draconic feline was so cute! She wondered if this meant he’d stay sweet or turn into a little devil as he grew older… no way to tell, but she enjoyed being his cool aunt. A boy could never have too many queer family members, right? “I’m sure you’ll love it,” she said, in her usual deadpan. Emotional expression never shined through her voice, but she bent her neck to affectionately nuzzle the top of his head. “Aren’t you sweet. I’ll take a small slice, thank you.” waded through the spirits like a flood on the floor SHE PUSHED THE WATER INSIDE Re: SUN'S IN THE SKY ☆ birthday - ROXANNE R. - 02-14-2020 [glow=white,1,400]I LOVE YOU, CANNIBAL QUEEN ! — 。+゚.[/glow]
The smile on her maw grew wider once she had gotten his attention, it made her even happier seeing that Rosemary had come along to gift Roan a book, which was so sweet. She loved seeing her sister appearing a bit more and she was honestly excited to reconnect with the four eyed ocelot, her own mismatched gaze held an affectionate twinkle to them. It didn't take long before her kitten would throw himself at her, a soft squeak escaped her once his head met her chest, yet her gaze full of tender, motherly love didn't cease or so it grew even more like a burning flame. Her heart was racing as she held him there close to her chest, she could already feel her eyes stinging a bit as she could feel the tears starting to form. She promised herself she wouldn't cry but it was so hard to do that because Roan was growing up so quick, it almost worried her and made her think of the day her son would get tired of how clingy she was or over how she would fret over him. Her smile was warm, soft yet her eyes were already getting teary. She sniffled briefly only to let out a choked purr "Te amo también, bebé." As he blew out his candles, Roxie would say with a faint purr "I'm sure it will come true if you don't say it, silly." Her gaze shifted over to her sister with a smile tugging at her lips, she would gently nudge Rosemary before looking over to Roan as he spoke about sharing the cake. She was glad that it was much bigger than the cakes she usually made for herself and Roan back when they celebrated his birthday within the safety of a hut, her whiskers twitched as she would start grabbing the plates she had brought along so they could all have a slice of cake.
