LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ☆ o, mock trial - redvox. - 01-16-2020 REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger The third day of the festival, and this event had sort of been a hard one to set up. After all, how were you supposed to celebrate a goddess of justice and rights? Thankfully, their Elysite visitors had served to give him an idea of exactly how to do so. Naya was the under light goddess of justice and rights, and was known for being a particularly ruthless goddess, who did not particularly take well to those that did others wrong. She was one of the more intimidating gods, with her usual form of a large bear, and her penchant for picking champions to achieve her will. It was even worse when she went to shame a group for committing atrocities, because usually this "shaming" led to at least a couple of the offenders dying. There had been quite a big of debate over whether or not she should be a light god at one point, but Vin was firmly in the corner of thinking that she was one. After all, she only ever punished those that had done others extremely wrong, and what about that would make her one of the dark gods? Then again, however, Vin didn't necessarily think the dark gods were all bad guys, either. Anyways, barring all that debate, Vin had come up with a perfect little event to celebrate Naya's judgemental nature. He had set up a sort of courtroom, similar to the kind that Elysium used in their trials. It was definitely simplified, but it was good enough for him, and he was fairly sure it would be good enough for Elysium and The Pitt... or at least he desperately hoped that it would be. There was a wide cleared out patch of ground for the jury, a spot for the judge, and a spot for a witness, as well as a cleared out spot for the accused. Once all of that had been cleared of snow and any other hazards, Vin once again went through the process of dragging a shrine out, this time the shrine of Naya. The shrine held the carving of a brown bear with a set of balances in her mouth, and even that was enough to make Vin shiver a little. Once he had pushed the statue beside the "judge's space," Vox spoke up, smiling tiredly, "Everybody 'ere for the festival, gather 'round! This particular event is sort of dedicated to our Elysite visitors! Th'goddess we're celebratin' today is an undergoddess of light who presides over justice and rights, Naya. In honor of 'er, and inspired by our visitors, we'll be 'oldin' a little mock trial!" Hopefully this would go well, and the jury could pick out whether the selected "criminal" was innocent or guilty. Re: LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ☆ o, mock trial - gael - 01-21-2020 The game of mock trial belonged to the faerie's youth. A practice meant to fine hone his and his cousin's minds -- diplomacy and leadership came with responsibility to understand judgement. A number of trials, the most vivid through his mind's eye, Gael and Raziel argued opposite sides of a simple debate, rather than for the sentence of an accused. Briefly, he attempted to snatch shifting grains of sand, the memory of one trial they did deliberate over a potentially 'guilty' party. Raziel's parents certainly found that amusing. Sharpened with gold, Gael's hazel eyes locked thoughtfully on Redvox. Paws dipped in shadows trotted forward, ears perked. Slowly, his head slanted as he spoke, "point me where to go." He assumed the harbinger decided the role everyone played after all. A fragment of his heart murmured a careless thought -- grief for the time gone past, thoroughly enjoying himself through the words he traded with Raziel. Quickly, the wheels turned towards Aine instead, who often pounced behind his paws; hopefully she found the mock trial interesting and participated. Fun he worried little for -- she simply needed to be engaged, which fun often followed. "ISN'T IT LOVELY?" —-- gael ó broin / faerie / pittian / lamby Re: LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ☆ o, mock trial - aine. - 01-25-2020 I'll come back when you call me Transfixed by the sheer amount of snow more than the words announced, the petite vixen nearly walked directly into her father. Startled into a more attentive state, Aine's head turned upwards, ears perking up brightly. Quickly her hazel hues began searching for clues around her, attempting to puzzle out the event without asking Redvox to repeat herself. She didn't want him to know she hadn't exactly been... Listening... He'd think she was being rude. And her father taught her better than that. Unfortunately, she had no clue. The bear with the balancing scale looking really interesting. Appealing. Aine enjoyed balance immensely. Order. Fairness. It felt nice when things came out aligned or justified. Still. She had no clue. Simply pleased to be present at all and around Redvox, the fox rocked to and fro on her paws. Her father seemed to be awaiting direction, so she would too. — aine | the pitt | commodore of the crows | fae druid — Re: LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ☆ o, mock trial - redvox. - 01-25-2020 REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger Gael and Aine were the first two to show up to the little event, and while Vinny couldn't say that he was surprised, he also couldn't help the big grin that spread across his face because of it. Both Gael and his daughter were some of his favorite people in the Pitt, and possibly were his favorite people in the Pitt, if he put aside Auggie, whom he had a very... complicated relationship with. He offered both Pittians a very toothy smile as they came up to the little mock trial courtroom, and he clapped his wings together a little bit before he spoke, "Ah, hello Gael, 'n' hello Aine. You two can be part of th'jury, alright? I've already got in mind who's gonna be our criminal 'n' who's gonna be our victim. Plus I've got a list'a information from anonymous witnesses." He was still smiling widely at his own hard work as he gestured towards the cleared out space with several seats in it that was meant for the jury. He was fairly certain that who he had in mind for the criminal would be arriving before too long, so he hoped that they could make themselves comfortable beforehand. larkspurpaw headed in almost at a full charge, behaving much like a bull in a china shop. narrowly he missed knocking down old or more sacred items that had been decorated across the room. the child had eventually found a long clay vase, squirming himself into it and pretending to be a hidden assassin. eventually he began to listen to redvox's explanation of the event, poking his head out and raising himself up at the lip of the vase.

"i wanna be the criminal! i'm good at doing bad stuff." the orange tabby had leaned a bit too much of his weight against the vase, causing it to wobble for a few moments before eventually tipping over. he jumped from the mouth of the vase and onto the ground, flinching as the clay pot shattered. Re: LET THE BODIES HIT THE FLOOR ☆ o, mock trial - redvox. - 01-26-2020 REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger Before too long, rushing after the first two Pittians to arrive, was the first Elysite, Larkspurkit. The child came charging in with energy that Vinny couldn't even imagine, and soon enough his tiny body was squirmed into a vase, his voice full of excitement as he popped up. Redvox blinked in bewilderment at the boy for a moment before he chuckled, amused by the child's antics. He winced a little bit when the priceless vase tipped over, shattering against the hard snowless ground, but quickly spoke up, "It's... that's alright. I know it was just an accident." Yeah, it hurt seeing something like that shattered into little pieces, but he wasn't going to yell at the kid over it. After that, the harbinger processed the child's request. Originally he planned for Aslisk to be the criminal, and he the victim, but... Larskpurkit would work well enough, especially with his enthusiasm. Offering the kit a crooked toothy smile, Vin mumbled, "Very well, if that's really what you want, then y'can be the criminal, which means you're gonna want ta sit right there at that little stage area to be tried. Our victim in this case will be... Aslisk, who should 'opefully be here shortly." His eyes glanced around the area as he looked for the regent, hoping that she would hear him and come over. After all, having a case with only a criminal and two members of the jury would be a bit boring. ASLISK - wyvern - powers - halls of hiraeth - regent - hot shot The Sinotyrannus had a thing for being late. Perhaps she deemed it a good use of her status? Likely it was another thing that was left over from the events that had happened back where she had come from. Showing up late, leaving and arriving when she pleased, battering whomever happened to provoke and still anger within her. Such was certainly not a hard thing to do. The fluffy tyrannosaurid grumbled as she finally did approach, her clubbed tail slowly waving from behind her. Red eyes focused briefly on the destroyed pot. Not a bowl. None of her concern. "What am I the victim of?" Aslisk asked, eyeing the remains of the pot. Maybe she could take them and use her fire to melt it back together. "It better not be something hasking stupid," she then added, "or I'm afraid I'll have to excuse myself." TAGS 11/19/19: |
