HOLD ON LOOSELY ☆ roxanne - roan ; - 01-09-2020 [align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — If there was one person that Roan loved more than anybody in the world, it would be his mama. Now, one could probably try to attribute that to the fact that Roxanne was one of the only people he had really met so far, being cooped up in a little nursery den. Truthfully though, Roan would love his mother more than anyone even if he had only met her once and never again. They were bonded by blood, and more than that, his mother loved him more than anything, a fact that wasn't lost on him even though he couldn't understand the full scope of it. After all, his mama had loved him enough to let him leave the nursery hut when he was old enough and wanted to, and she didn't even hover all around him every moment! Part of that could probably be attributed to the fact that he constantly had a couple of guardian crocodiles following him from a distance at all times, but he was okay with that. It wasn't as if Kal and Brunhild couldn't join in on the fun. During one of his first days outside of his usual little home hut, Roan had decided to go down to the shore of the bay, being especially careful to stay near the edge like mama had told him to. Perhaps one day when he was a bit bigger he could swim in the waters without worry, but for now they represented dangerous riptides that could pull a tiny kitten to sea despite the calm facade. Thankfully for Roan, the task at hand didn't require him going any farther than the very shallowest of waters, since all her was trying to do was collect seashells. After several minutes of sifting through the sands, Roan eventually found a shell that fit his purposes. A large pink intact shell with little ridges. It was pretty and delicate, and the perfect gift for mama. With an enthusiastic grin splitting the child's face, he found himself rushing back to his and his mother's home, gripping the little shell especially carefully in his jaws. Once he arrived back inside of home sweet home, he transitioned the shell into his paws, saying happily as he held it up the light, "Mama! Mama, look what I found for you!" Re: HOLD ON LOOSELY ☆ roxanne - ROXANNE R. - 01-09-2020 Roxanne tried not to worry a lot whenever Roan would go outside to play, she knew that Kalayavan and Brunhild would keep a close eye on the small kitten, they never seemed to stray too far from the young Roux either which made Rox worry a lot less. She was fixing together her new home making it look quite lovely in her opinion with a few crocodile themed accessories, the knitted crocodile rugs being her favorite. She placed one in front of the bed and the smaller one outside of the hut, she had been using her tail to clean away at the dust and well, everything was looking a lot better than when she had first entered the hut. She just hoped that it would do nicely for Roan especially with how small he was, she had set up a big space for him with most of his favorite books, crayons, and coloring books even with a few blocks he could play with. Of course, she had her own essentials in her household if she ever ended up having a date or if someone came over to stay though she doubted she would do any of that since more of her undying attention was concentrated mainly onto Roan and him alone. Sure, she would have loved to bring back a specific guy home and call it a night but, it had been so long since they've seen each other. She knew her feelings for him lingered yet she was uncertain if it was returned, she pushed those thoughts from her head as she looked at most of the books she had found for her son. She set them down for a moment only to go to her cabinet opening it rather hesitantly to find the folded paper bag and what seemed to be scattered ebony beads, Roxanne picked them up delicately only to murmur with a saddened smile "Man, weren't those the days, Roxie? If only. . ." She returned them back into their place casting them one last glance before closing her cabinet completely. She needn't remember something that made her soul ache or try not to bring it up as often.
The sudden voice of Roan had made her snap out of her sudden depressive daze only to find her heart beating once more within her chest, she glanced over towards her child only to see what he had in his paws. A pink shell. She found a warm smile crossing her face as she approached the small kitten, she would wrap her wings around him only to press her nose to his forehead "I absolutely love it, mi cielo." She said with a loud purr taking it gently into her paws to examine it herself, she touched its smooth surface for a moment before she finally said with a soft giggle "This will be perfect for our home, my love. It's so perfect." She placed a kiss on his nose and head before she set it on top of her cabinet making sure the sun shone on the shell. "character's speech." Re: HOLD ON LOOSELY ☆ roxanne - roan ; - 01-09-2020 [align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — Roan knew well of the affinity that his mother possessed for crocodile themed things. It didn't really surprise him, considering she had Kal and Brunhild, but he did wish he was able to contribute a bit more to her collection. He had been attempting to find a shell that was the same color as either Kal or Brunhild that morning, but the pink shell had just been so pretty, and he had gotten a little bit distracted... oh well. He was sure his mama would love it, especially since she loved most things she got from him. He could still remember the warm hug that he had gotten when he had given her one of his fully colored coloring book pages. He had felt a little bad because his shaky paws hadn't been able to stay completely within the lines, but his mother had been overjoyed, just nuzzling him and telling him it was perfect. A smile spread over the child's face at the memory, and it only grew wider when his mother came over, Roxanne's eyes seeming to light up at his offering. The kit found himself squirming excitedly before he was wrapped up in wings and arms, his entire body warmed. He watched with anticipation as she turned it over in her paws, before he let put a bubbly laugh at her words. Watching as his mother put it right where the sun would catch it in its golden rays, Roan said cheerfully, "I'm so glad you like it mama! I was trying to find one that looked like Kal or Brun, but that one was just so pretty I couldn't leave it!" He knew that his mother liked pink as well, so hopefully she would understand why he found it to be so dazzling and picked it over one colored like one of the crocs. The child let his eyes wander behind Roxanne for a moment after he spoke, taking in the different little changes she had made to their new home. All of the crocodile themed little items were, of course, delightful, but his attention was obviously immediately drawn to the corner set up for him. He looked at the various items set up carefully in it before he looked back to his mother, chattering with excitement, "You made things look different while I was gone. It looks so pretty, mama!" He wanted to express just how excited he was about his particular little corner, but Roxanne had also taught him to be polite, so he wanted to make sure his mother knew just how much he loved the whole of the decorated home. Once a moment had passed and he was sure that his little comment had sank in, he let his azure gaze travel back to the corner, "And you put all my favorite stuff in my own little place! It looks so fun..." Glancing back up at his mother, he gave her another soft and happy embrace before he moved away, quickly scampering to the little corner. His eyes darted from place to place around the little area, his tiny body fluffed up in excitement as he took it all in. Re: HOLD ON LOOSELY ☆ roxanne - ROXANNE R. - 01-10-2020 She certainly did have a large adoration for the scaled beasts that were part of her family, she would feel bad if they ever got in harm's way. She respected them to an extent, they were powerful, dangerous, and gorgeous in their own way. Those were traits that she wish that she had for the most part but she had became a bit docile since the world had given her Roan. The thought of him made her feel so happy, she was so fortunate to have a son like him and she could only hope that she would be a good mother for him even if her own "mother" had thrown her out the second she had gotten the chance. She still wished some things were different like her child being conceived from love and not a one nightstand but what she felt the moment she saw how tiny he was. How he mewled and nosed around blindly, she had fallen in love completely. She never understood why her mother hadn't loved her, Roan was just like her when she was just a kitten. Small, vulnerable, and oblivious to the cruel world. He has small nubby horns and small wings, she didn't understand how a mother, no, how Judith could have completely rejected her. She supposed it hadn't mattered at the time to her but this was her turn to begin a new life with her new child.
Hearing his voice made her so happy, she couldn't ever be mad at her son, no, she always felt the opposite whenever he was around her. He always helped her snap out of her small depressive episodes. It was only a matter of time before he would grow and she wouldn't be able to shower him with love like she usually did but she would sure as hell try. No matter how embarrassed he would get, she would never stop from expressing her love for her dearest, Roan. She gave him a few more kisses all over his face unable to contain her purrs "I'm sure they would have loved that, my darling. I'm sure they'll love this shell just as much as I do." She murmured to him in the usual gentle tone she used for him. When he made the comment about the decor, she couldn't help but puff out her chest with pride "Ah, I'm so glad you noticed! I tried making things a lot more comfy for the both of us. It's definitely a lot nicer than what I had before." She released a soft sigh feeling her heart grow warm as Roan ran to his corner of the hut. She followed after him with a big smile on her maw, she couldn't help but laugh for a moment seeing him puff up with excitement. No matter how old Roan got or how much he'd grow, he would always be her baby boy. "Maybe one day you'll get your own little hideout too," She mused already having things sketched out for the most part, she kept her ideas hidden away so Roan wouldn't spoil the surprise for himself. She only wanted what was best for him and she supposed in her way, she would love and spoil him, something her own parents never did. Not even her father. A small pang of hurt touched her heart but eventually it was soothed. She didn't have any reason to be upset now. "character's speech." Re: HOLD ON LOOSELY ☆ roxanne - roan ; - 01-11-2020 [align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: times new roman;"]♡ — Kal and Brunhild had always managed to make Roan feel safe, no matter the circumstances. Although he hadn't been alive for long, the child appreciated the feeling of warmth and safety that the two large beasts brought with them, and had appreciated it ever since he had just been a tiny little ball of fluff, staring up at them with wide newly opened eyes. In fact, Kal and Brunhild were part of the reason that Roan knew how dearly beloved he was by his mother. After all, it was obvious in his eyes just how much Rox loved her two crocodiles, almost as if they were her own children as well, and to let them out of her sight in order to protect him? It took not only a lot of trust in them, but also a lot of love for the subject of their protection. Of course, this was only a small fraction of the ways that Roan knew his mother loved him. It wasn't as if the larger feline ever attempted to hide her love for her child, whether it be the way she woke him up every morning with a soft smile and a warm buenos diaz, or the way that she constantly showered him in small gifts that the child could truly appreciate. Roan, of course, didn't know about his mother's past experiences with poor parenthood, or really anything that had happened to her before he had been around scampering underneath her paws, but if he had he would've been so overjoyed, as well as proud of her. After all, when you grew up with at least one of your parents not really caring about you, it was easy to fall into the same patterns, and could lead to a vicious cycle. Instead, however, Roxanne had gone the complete opposite direction, and had made sure that her child would feel nothing but loved for his entire life. Roan was similarly always glad when his mother was around, not only because she had been practically the only person he had been around for four months, but also because she was just that good of a mama. His heart always soared when he was around her, and it always felt like nothing bad could happen to him as long as he was at her side, which was mostly true, considering the lengths that Roxanne would go to in order to protect him. When his mother puffed up in pride, a small smile coming to her muzzle, Roan felt an identical although slightly larger grin spread across his own face, his voice coming out in a happy squeak as he let his aqua colored eyes rake over the house again, "It looks amazing, mama! I really love all of it... everything looks so nice and comfy!" Sure, to Rox there were parts of this home that would probably never bring anything but pain and sadness hidden away, but to Roan? All his home represented was safety and laughter, along with the gentle loving touches of his mother and the nuzzles to his head. It seemed impossible for Roan to feel any sort of depression within his beloved home, and if it ever did happen, it probably wouldn't be for a very, very long time. Smiling happily, the kit allowed his paws to travel over nearly every surface in his new play area, his curiosity driving him to feel everything and familiarize himself with it as most kids did. Luckily for Roxanne, he was past the phase where he had been biting down or attempting to stuff anything in his mouth that he could in order to understand it – although that had led to some pretty comical moments, considering how small the poor boy's mouth was. In the midst of his exploring, however, he heard his mother's soothing voice again, the older feline telling him about how he might get his own little hideout one day. Looking up, his voice seemed to turn a touch breathless, his eyes grown wide, "My own hideout...? Really? That would be so cool! I could make stuff in it, and play games, and hang out with Kal and Brunhild... or even other kids, if I meet some I wanna play with." He smiled crookedly at this, his eyes faintly glittering. He had no idea that his mother was planning on actually making him such a thing, but that didn't mean that the child couldn't fantasize about it. |
