in the shadows -- Mistrim - Warringkingdoms - 01-04-2020 The cuts that the snake had left on her leg seemed to be healing well enough. The flesh in that area wasn't swelling, and the lacerations had shrunk over time. Rin had seen no sign of infection, or of any side-effects that could be attributed to venom. Perhaps luck had taken her side this time. Wrapping up the wound in fresh bandages, she glanced towards the door. The air was warmer than the previous nights, albeit still chilly. She might not be the only one out on the docks tonight- someone else might decide to take a night walk. Certainly, some company might help her stay awake. If she was alone, though, it would be no skin off her back. With a shrug, she finished re-dressing the wound, then went outside. Glancing up and down the street, she then started walking towards the docks. /ish [member=9408]Mistrim[/member] Re: in the shadows -- Mistrim - Mistrim - 01-06-2020 Mistrim couldn’t sleep. With everything going on it seemed that the current events were bringing up feelings of old events and all that did was give her a headache. All of her memories were still a blur and the ones that weren’t still didn’t make any sense. Vivid emotions from the past would surface without any context and it made her confused. Her best course of decision was to do a walk around. If she tried to ignore her scattered memories then perhaps she could get some sleep. There was other things going on too. Mainly the whole fiasco with gods and whatnot. It was without realization that Mistrim began to walk towards the docks. If not only to see where the first (of many, Mistrim assumed) battle had taken place. It scared her, not the thought of the gods themselves but the thought that she herself would flee from the battle. Again. It was hard to tell if this unsettling fear in her stomach was a memory or her current state but it was overwhelming. She wanted to help fight and be of use to her group...her current group. To be a person short in a battle could be detrimental and she didn’t want to do that to the other Elysites. Her previous group...she had one before Elysium. She can’t remember the name right now but there were others...what happened to them? She gave a quiet growl of frustration, she was delving too deep into her memories and at this rate she wouldn’t sleep tonight. She sat on the docks, looking out into the water and curling her tail around herself. Tucking her scarf closer to her is how Mistrim sat. Trying to get her mind off of her memories and onto anything else. Re: in the shadows -- Mistrim - Warringkingdoms - 01-10-2020 As she approached the docks, Rin could see Mistrim silhouetted by the moon's reflected rays, her tail tucked in. For a moment, she was reminded of how she had been over a year and a half ago- the way she would sit alone in silence, tugging at her scarf, wandering through the fog of her own mind to find any clue as to who she had once been. They had helped her then, taken her in and given her a home, despite not knowing anything about her. They couldn't have known that it would cost them dearly, but she suspected even if they had, they would have let her in anyway. Swallowing back the lump in her throat, Rin walked over to the edge of the dock, until she stood a few feet away from Mistrim. She didn't break the silence right away, choosing instead to peer into the depths. Barring the occasional flash of a fish darting by, there was no sign of suspicious movement. "...Penny for your thoughts?" she said finally, twitching her ears. It was an odd figure of speech, but one she was okay using nonetheless- she didn't have a penny right now, of course, but she could probably find one if Mistrim really wanted one. Turning her head to face Mistrim, she continued, "If you don't want to tell me, that's fine. But depending on what it is, I might be able to help." Inviting others to pour their strife on her was part of her job as a medic, but even if it wasn't, she didn't mind it. Helping others through their struggles proved a worthwhile distraction from her own, when she had the opportunity. |
