Quietly the jaguar would make his way up the steps. Unsure as of what the tigress could possibly want, he went in cautiously.

Him upon his return. He hadn’t been so either. Instead, in his opinion, he felt that there was a formal and unsaid truce. He respected her but they would never like each other. They would never be friends.

No, he confirmed. Things had gone too far for that to ever be a reality. Nor did he ever hope to be. Goldenluxury was once an enemy turned neutral. Perhaps she would see him in a more, noble way.

Or at least no longer one of Jervis’s lackeys. Sighing he would take a moment to clear his head before entering. He hadn’t been on the Leader’s temple in so long. It felt... abandoned. It smelled different.

Eyes looked around before stepping in, checking for traps or danger. While Goldie ended up being right, he still didn’t trust her.

He would sit across from her and look. Eyes flickering to a paper before dismissing it. It would be no use anyways, he couldn’t read.

Apparently the paper was his. But who could possibly write to him? Everyone who knew him, knew he couldn’t read. Kydobi smiled humorously.

He would open his maw to speak but softly closed it as she continued. Your group. Okay, he didn’t pick up on the hint but he did notice how she separated herself from the people of the Pitt.

Kydobi nodded softly, as she continued. He really honestly hadn’t expected it to him him. When she told him she wanted him to be Ardent his breathe caught.

A million thoughts rushed in his mind through the silence. He hadn’t ever really wanted this, never really strives for power... apart from Vicar. But that was only cause he understood he wouldn’t have much of a chance without that title and influence. Of course, he didn’t get it. And it had taken a lot of time to get to Marauder. But in retrospect, Jervis didn’t want to give anyone enough power to check his own.

Which was what Ky had been trying to do from the start. But it seemed he would finally have the power to do so. The formal title to say “this is the way now”. He knew there would be backlash.. not just from the more stubborn Pittians.

He wanted to see how the people felt, “I’m going to be honest, I really wasn’t expecting this. You understand that the Pitt has a enemy? I was and still am willing to talk things out... but Tanglewood? They don’t. I’m sure you choosing me will only aggravate them more.”

But what would he do? He felt bad simply saying yes. If he welcomed the position too easily, wouldn’t it seem like that was all he wanted? And if he seemed hesitant would she take his indecisiveness as weakness?

The jaguar adjusted his paws, he had been trained and raised to rule a kingdom. Granted he never got to be King. His destiny was viciously twisted and turned away from what he had thought was written in stone. So this felt like he has not wasted a childhood of grooming and practicing.

“So how are we going to announce it? Whether they agree or not those are my people regardless.. and i won’t lead them astray no matter my rank. Your terms are Just no slavery?”

She was blunt for sure. Kydobi found himself getting offended, but he would hide it. Perhaps he was just too sensitive. Not that he would admit it, he thought of himself as strong and took pride in his stoic demeanor.

It was all he really had now.

“I think, I’ll announce it to the Pittians. But regarding the rest of the groups? Perhaps you can announce it at.. whenever you get the chance. I’d like to spread the word but I’m sure it would look pretentious.”

Kydobi looked at the ground. He was too willing to follow her rules, maybe set his foot down? But it seemed she couldn’t care less about what they did so long as it didn’t involve the enslavement of others.

Good. Because Kydobi could see trouble on the horizons with Tanglewood and the way she spoke of them? Seemed like they could come as a pair. Thankfully, he bit his tongue to keep from telling her that he planned to handle them one way or another. But that was only if they decided to continue to harbor hate, which was fine unless they decided to act on it.

Kydobi nodded his head, “I’ll see to it tomorrow- the meeting.” He would pause and sigh, it didn’t seem like much but he had just threw the fate of many into his hands.

“You didn’t destroy us.”, he would say in curt agreement, “but regarding the letter... I cannot read. Could you read it to me?”

Curiosity was beginning to swell.
