LITTLE BIT OF SHMUTZ ☆ holiday dance - redvox. - 12-24-2019

REDVOX "VINNY" ABRAMO - cis male - goat-bat hybrid - harbinger

Christ, he was so damn tired right now. He had been pushing himself extremely hard ever since the first speck of an idea about the dance had popped into his mind. Whether it be cleaning the town hall out of rats and decorating it, going from group to group with the invitations, or returning just in time to set up the rest of the stuff for the dance, including food and gifts and games and everything else. Now that the place was finally decorated, the hybrid felt like he was going to collapse before he was actually able to interact with anybody else. The gat took a very deep breath as he put up the last bit of mistletoe, falling back on all fours and stretching out for a long moment before he headed towards the front door. Once he was out, he headed down the steps and turned around, taking in the twinkling colored lights that he had draped over practically the entire building with Aslisk's assistance. The hybrid fumbled around with the switch for the battery powered lights for a moment before they lit up beautifully, and a grin spread across his face. Inside, there was a table set up with tons of different cooked prey and baked goods, and the main room of the town hall was cleared out so that it would be perfect for dancing. The inside of the building was practically coated in holiday cheer, with Garland strung all around, along with mistletoe, bows, stockings, and all sorts of other Christmas decorations, along with the large decorated tree set up in the corner. Vinny made sure that the battery powered radio was blaring out cheerful and bright holiday dancing tunes before he headed back outside, clearing his throat and throwing his wings out to both sides, smiling, "Alright everyone! The official Halls Holiday dance is ready 'n' started! Everybody feel free ta come in and 'ave fun, no matter where you're from!" He chuckled and smiled as people from the Halls began to stream in, and the hybrid stayed near the steps to welcome everyone else in. After all, they needed to make a good impression on the other groups, and what made a better impression than the leader personally welcoming them in? Plus... it gave Vin a chance to just sit and rest, something he very much welcomed.

[OOC: ]

He had been told of this event, part of him wished to show up to simply see what his friend Redvox had managed to create. The other wanted all to know he was back.

Especially should Aurum or any Tanglewooders appear. The giant jaguar would seem to be the first to show up. Flicking his ear he would walk quietly up. Smiling at his old comrade.

“Hello Vox!”, he smiled wider as he flicked his tail, nearing the gat he would sit beside them. Looking down at arriving NPC.

Whether the fact that the invitation was sent out to all was bad.. Kydobi was unsure but he would keep his Pittians in check and most certainly handle any bullies on the outside.

He had faith his people would hold well... besides they had held themselves back during the battle until given command. Much unlike the opposing end. He knew that Goldie would be hard pressed to find utter obedience but perhaps they would listen to Ky.

No doubt there would be drama.

Re: LITTLE BIT OF SHMUTZ ☆ holiday dance - gael - 12-25-2019

Something like a silhouette, the lean vulpine stepped through the doors, knowing behind him a small fox bounced on his heels.  His hazel eyes, gleaming with a sharper green tone, moved around with a discreet alertness and simple curiosity.  Redvox's dedication existed in every inch of the festive town hall.

Among the gathering faces, he knew Redvox himself and Kydobi.  While he bore no aggression towards the other groups, he felt particularly wary of any negativity they may inflect upon his daughter for their allegiance -- a grave offense to the faerie.

The tension bore ill.  Gael understood the event to be a time of celebration and relaxation -- he had every intent of preserving that.  It was not his fellow Pittians that concerned him in the matter.  As long as Aine has fun, he mused, guiding the child up towards the greeting harbinger.  She carried a gift for him, after all.  "Dia dhuit, Redvox."

He offered a small smile, an expression he often reserved for Aine.  Familiar with elaborate and official events, Gael never forgot his courtesies.

It was vaguely surprising, the fact that the first two important guests to arrive at the dance were none other than a couple of Pittians, but it also wasn't at the same time. After all, although the Halls was where Redvox had truly come from, the Pitt had also been his home for several months, and it had been a home that he had loved dearly, even if he didn't agree with all of the decisions made there. Despite the bad blood that the rest of the groups seemed eager to foster with the Pitt, Vinny had no desire to see the Halls become enemies with the desert dwelling group, and he could feel the toothy grin coming to his face when he saw Kydobi, Gael, and Aine, before he knew it. He was vaguely surprised by the appearance of Kydobi, especially since he had heard rumors that the other male was dead, but... he was very glad to see that hadn't been true. Or, at the very least, wasn't anymore. He had been at the raid that had led to the other male's demise, but he had been so caught up in protecting Auggie and avoiding the actual fighting that he hadn't even known what had truly happened. Pushing those unpleasant thoughts from his mind, the hybrid dipped his head to all three of the Pittians, shifting his large wings as he spoke softly, "Hello Kydobi, Gael, Aine. I'm so happy ta see that all've ya came! I'm also really glad ta get th'chance ta really show ya th'Halls... feel free to head inside. We've got music playin', 'n' snacks, and even some gifts, at Aine's suggestion." Smiling broadly as he shifted towards inside, Vox silently hoped desperately that he was making a good enough host for this. He had never done anything like this before, not to mention the fact that he never truly knew how to respond to Gael's strange greeting, since he didn't know the language.

A flurry of bounding paws and a grin, the little fox trotted after her father.  In her jaws a small basket, featuring a small red bow on the handle; nearly her downfall from a few overexcited steps.  Curious, but still shy, she buzzed with an uncertain but happy energy.

Luckily, the first face belonged to someone familiar.  Gleefully, she held up her basket a little higher, to show off the fact she brought her own gift for the gat.  "Salut, Mr. Vinny!" Although friendly and energetic, her words were somewhat muffled by the handle, as expected.  "Ish 'ere a tree-" Her hazel hues locked on target, words overlapping into a halt.

With a sheepish grin at both her father and Redvox, she bounded inside.  Gifts belonged beneath trees, after all.  Gently, the little fae sat it down, critically analyzing the spot she choose to rest it as though the world depended on it's placement.  She'd worked hard on the little basket, wielding a small bundle of fresh herbs, some jungle flowers and a colorful friendship bracelet for Redvox.  Aine had asked her father to help her leave a note stating that the bracelet at least, was just for Mr. Vinny.  Herbs were for those who needed it.

That done, Aine wasn't exactly sure what to do with herself, rocking on her paws lightly as she simply looked all around her.

[align=center][div style="width:70%; text-align: justify; padding: 1px; font-family: helvetica;"]Parties were fun. Marlon...was not.

A natural wallflower, he preferred to sit out high-energy events. He wasn't shy, per se, just...his conversation skills could be messy at times. And Marlon doubted it was fun to talk to someone who looked like they've swallowed something bitter. However, he also knew that he would never get better at conversing if he didn't actually try.

Which was why he was currently hovering near the entrance, azure eyes flickering from animal to animal. They all seemed to belong to the same group, judging from the weak scents he was picking up. They all knew Redvox (he supposed that was a given; who wouldn't know the leader of the group that was hosting you?) and they seemed pleasant enough.

"Hello," Marlon spoke after some time, offering up a weak smile that quickly fell back to a blank expression. Small talk, he could do that. "Thank you for coming, I—A pleasure to meet you all, name's Marlon," he inclined his head in greeting. If his attempt fell flat, he could always...make a cool departure. Say something like 'oh boy. I ought to check the desserts,' and book it.

Actually, that sounded like a smart idea. Good job him. "Hope you all enjoy the party, um. Bye." With that, Marlon shuffled inside, making a bee-line towards the food. Accosting some strangers at the entrance seemed like a mistake. He'd wait until others trickled in and got comfortable before forcing them to converse with him.

The sound of Aine's excited voice in his ears, along with the sight of her bright and childish smile, was enough to make a broad smile curl on Vinny's face as well. He was always glad to see Aine, and the young fox was one of the ones that it had hurt the most to leave behind in the Pitt, even if he knew that she would be well taken care of. Gael knew what he was doing, and Vin was sure of that, but that didn't mean he couldn't miss acting like a fun uncle to the young girl. Vox chuckled when he heard her slightly muffled question of whether or not there was a tree, and he gestured inside with his horns, before realizing she had already spotted it. The hybrid made a soft amused sound as she came rushing back out, and was going to speak to her when one of the members of his own group showed up. Marlon. Vox was glad to see that the other had shown up, even if only because it meant that perhaps the other could interact more with his new clanmates. Upon hearing the other's awkward greeting, Vox bit back soft and happy laughter before turning back to Aine. It was not meant to be unkind or cruel laughter, since Vox definitely knew what it felt like to be awkward and unprepared for a bit social event, but instead was just meant to be a little bit of humor at the ridiculousness of the situation. Once Marlon had moved on, evidently to stuff his face full of food in order to not put his own foot in his mouth, Vox turned back to Aine, saying softly as he grinned with sharp teeth down at her, "I hope y'brought me a nice gift, since I made sure ta get y'somethin' pretty great. In addition t'that... I even cleared out most'a th'area here around the town hall, so if y'wanna play tag, that's totally an option." Sure, clearing out the majority of the space around the town hall had been a massive pain in the ass, especially since Vox had refused to ask for Aslisk's fire powers to help, but it had been worth it. He had figured Aine wouldn't be supremely interested in the dance, since it wasn't as if she was exactly of the age yet where she was dying to take someone along with her.

Re: LITTLE BIT OF SHMUTZ ☆ holiday dance - Kian. - 01-06-2020

The invitation to a holiday party came as a pleasent surprise to the Irishman.  The place his daughter named for him failed to kindle any memories, but the pirate never let that stop him before.  With simple inquiries for directions and listening to the general word on the wind, Kian found himself trotting up to the Halls' town hall.

The only pirate present so far, he waved a spotted tail at the unusual hybrid at the door.  A word of greeting began forming on his maw when he recognized his cousins among the Pittians present.  With a friendly smirk, Kian attempted to lightly bump into Gael, raising his eyebrows in a silent hello.  No doubt they'd never truly be friends again, but he would attempt to make things up to the other.

"Dia dhuit," he jovially chirped, sea-green eyes resting curiously on Redvox.  He had arrived just in time for the mention of games being directed at his cousin's daughter and grinned.  Not forgetting his manners, the small faerie inclined his head towards the harbinger.  "Thank you for invitin' the Typhoon."

Quickly, he glanced back at Aine, already almost bigger than himself.  "I'll play tag with you, lass. Who's it first?"
