you can do this -- market festival START - Straw - 12-22-2019 [font=trebuchet ms]She had invited the Typhoon- that was one hurdle she'd made it over. Now someone had to actually start the festival. Warringkingdoms was... broken. Straw got the feeling that the Magna would drag herself up to the meeting rock and start the festival even if it killed her, but it would be kind of a mess if it did kill her. She'd probably be angry if Straw started it for her, but Straw would rather have her angry than dead. Technically Lemy was the Attorney, the next in line for leadership after Warringkingdoms. Given what she had heard about the incident in the town, however, she got the feeling he might not want to do this either. It had been Warringkingdoms' idea, after all. Really, if Straw thought about it, she couldn't think of anyone who really would want to do this. But they couldn't just turn Tanglewood, the Halls of Hiraeth, and now the Typhoon away with nothing. That could damage relations, which could start conflict, which could start a war, and- ...she was thinking about it too much. The point was, someone needed to start this, and Straw needed to get over herself for long enough to do it. She didn't even need to give a big speech, she just needed to remind everyone that the market festival was supposed to start today. Surely they'd understand that since there were expectations placed on them, they had to deliver. What if they didn't, though? If she stood here pondering all the ways it could go wrong, she'd end up chickening out. She had to just do it. She'd set up signs already, pointing to the various stalls that she already knew existed, and to where the games would eventually start. They were ready, so they just had to make it official. Walking up to the meeting rock, Straw stood beside it, glancing around at the other creatures that walked by. "Um, excuse me," she uttered, standing as tall as she could. When the others turned to look, she cleared her throat. "The winter market festival. It's supposed to start today." Swallowing, she said, "So... I guess... we should start now." Standing there, Straw internally cursed herself for making it awkward, but she didn't walk away. If people showed up, someone ought to be there to assist them.
