courtesy call // open - Cosmic - 12-17-2019 Since being welcomed and sworn in by Rin in a private ceremony, he felt like he owed Elysium. They had shown him kindness and allowed him into their home, and he wanted to return the favor somehow. Even if what he was doing was small, he hoped that it would show his appreciation towards them for not killing him outright when he lost himself, alone in the territory. He slowly dragged a basket filled with baked goods like cookies and even small stuffed toys for whoever wanted them. He baked the cookies himself, unsure exactly what he was doing, but he was surprised at the result. They were well-made, despite his inexperience. He hoped that everyone would like them, even with the lingering doubt in the back of his mind that told him otherwise. There were other small trinkets as well if one dug through the basket long enough. He had taken quite some time to put this all together, having to search through different places and borrowing supplies to make the cookies. But it was time well spent, with his heart in the right place. One paw on the basket, the other to his side, he made no big deal about these gifts, instead wanting others to come to him of their own accord. He didn’t feel right in getting everyone’s attention or announcing it. He just brought it out, looking around to people-watch in the meantime until someone came around to pick something out of the gift basket. Those same sentiments could be applied to everyone else in his acquaintanceship but the male's earlier remarks of 'I don't want to hurt you' put him in the same category as Videogames; people who will end up hurting him in the future. No ifs, no buts. It was inevitable. That same twisted mentality applied to Lemy as well; sooner or later he was going to hurt someone and that was that. (It was easier, to think that.) Despite his uneasiness with the other feline, Lemy was set on playing nice. Picking fights with other groupmates would put him in a bad light. So, when he spotted the guy just sitting around with a gift basket next to him, he approached. "Hey, are ya goin' on a picnic?" Lemy asked playfully, poking at the basket. He eyed the stuffed toys and the craftsmanship for a few lingering moments then resumed making eye contact. Re: courtesy call // open - Cosmic - 12-19-2019 As much as he didn’t have a good feeling about Lemy, he ought to give him a chance. Maybe his brain was doing some dumb shit and Lemy was actually a decent person. He didn’t want to be rude to him, and he felt that the other deserved something from the basket. Whatever he wanted, just like anyone else that may show up wondering what was going on. The small feline gave a bright smile, rare for him, and laughed a little before shaking his head. “Nah, it’s too cold out for that. But they are filled with presents. You can pick any of them you like. Just a thank you gift for Elysium for allowing me to stay, and being really kind to me.” He offered, meeting his gaze to show the genuine appreciation he had before resting them on the ground or the basket. He wasn’t one for eye contact, as it made him uncomfortable, but he did so whenever he felt the need to. Re: courtesy call // open - Warringkingdoms - 12-19-2019 [font=trebuchet ms]/retro to injuries Valerian had been adjusting well, as far as Rin could tell. She had been keeping an eye on him, and hadn't seen any more signs of whatever it was that caused him to attack the rabbit so savagely. If there was a possessor involved, they hadn't shown themselves. She had to admit part of her was waiting for the other shoe to drop; she had known possessed creatures who had remained "normal" for months before suffering a sudden takeover. Still, as long as he was calm and adjusting well, she could appreciate that much. She'd be on standby if something happened out of nowhere, and with her telekinesis and Valerian's size- a decent size for a domestic feline, but nonetheless a domestic feline- she could probably handle the situation without anyone getting hurt. Of course, if he or his possible possessor could shapeshift, that might change things... she'd have to put some serious thought into her plan so that she had contingencies for such cases. As it was now, though, he seemed fine- and he had cookies. Spying a snickerdoodle in the basket, Rin approached quietly, her gaze flickering between Valerian and Lemy. Apparently they were "thank you" gifts; she'd given such gifts to the Typhoon before, after they helped her recover from her injuries. Off-task, part of her wondered how Idyllfields was doing. They'd appeared to be fine after the Pitt raid, but it had been a while since then. Shaking her head, Rin walked over to the basket and took the snickerdoodle. "Thank you for the cookies," she said, twitching her ears. "Adjusting well, I assume?" Re: courtesy call // open - Mistrim - 12-19-2019 A very curious soul Mistrim is. To see someone with gifts peeked her interest. She slowly padded her way over, head down careful not to really cause notice to herself. She buried her snout into her scarf as she neared the small group forming. Her steps were quiet until she was settled next to Lemy and Rin. Peering into the basket slightly, she wondered if she could have one of the plushies, or if there was anything shiny in it...or if there was a plushie with something shiny on it! She didn’t really announce her presence until she spoke. ”Are there any plushies with something shiny on it?...” There was a slight head tilt but she didn’t really look up at Valerian, not really being comfortable enough to do so yet. Even her voice was hard to hear, obviously she wasn’t getting used to talking to people just yet. Re: courtesy call // open - candorosa - 12-23-2019 [align=center][div style="width:70%; text-align: justify; padding: 1px; font-family: helvetica;"]Lemy answered with a quiet hum at Valerian's reply, noting the avoidance of eye contact. He glanced over to Rin and Mistrim as they approached then turned back to the gift basket. "Wooow, really? That's real nice of ya, thanks!" He said, as he pawed through the basket until he found a stuffed toy he found to his liking. He wasn't going to put anything Valerian made into his mouth but not accepting the gifts would look suspicious. "Yeah, how's it going so far for ya? Too cold? Too quiet?" Lemy asked, keeping an ear out for Valerian's reply. He suppressed a snort at Mistrim's question. He hadn't pegged her as someone who'd like flashy things. "Ya like shiny things, Misty?" He asked absentmindedly, tugging at his cloak. |
