UP TO THE TEST // joiner - charactercemetary. - 10-29-2019

[align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 12pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]❆ — Blue eyes hold no emotion. No lingering, lost hope for groups that once were, no sorrow for the past, no wishes for the future. Just... nothing. Soft, white paws go above rocks and clamber onto them. No words at first, instead merely looking around. Her wakizashi clanked against her side and the rocks below. That was the only time she betrayed expression, offering an apologetic look... to the sword.

She takes a deep breath of tranquil air. It was a mixture of the soft air of the mountain, and the cool air that encompasses the night. Stars sparkled in the sky - and, like the frost and the stars, her blue markings mirrored such a thing. She stops. A border.

She sits down, multiple tails wrapping around paws. Heer voice is deadpan, not soothing yet not angry. "I am Winterwish. I am here to join."

[font=trebuchet ms]If Rin hadn't already been paranoid about the recent fluctuations of fate, she would have counted herself incredibly lucky to encounter eight joiners in the span of two days. She'd lived in clans where they had five or even fewer actual members, so a leader with less to worry about would have seen this as an overwhelming blessing. Of course, she wasn't that naive. There had to be some sort of catch to the influx of new faces. Maybe it was the wakizashi that this individual carried- sword-wielders were rare in this region- or maybe it was the cool manner in which this barely-apprentice-aged creature spoke, but Rin had to wonder if there was something deeper behind her facade.

Dismissing this pondering as paranoia, Rin approached Winterwish with a stoic expression on her scarred features. She was to-the-point, having immediately offered her name and reason for being there. They were similar in that regard, seemingly. "I am Warringkingdoms Kepler-Langley, but you may call me Rin," she responded, twitching the tip of her tail. "If you want to become an official member, I'll need to swear you in at the next meeting- but if not, you can stay as long as you like."

[align=center][div style="width: 45%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]❆ — One person. A domestic cat. She made remarks to herself, though she did not say anything and her emotions did not betray it. Instead, she takes time to study the elader. Black and white, some green markings that made her stand out. Three under the eye. She saves this mental snapshot. A soft paw flicks a bit of fur out her eyes, and she stays silent for a long time.

The blunt kitsune gets up, stretching slightly. "Thanks," she remarks, already walking past the leader. "Sounds like I got an oath to do. Mind showing me to camp?"

[font=trebuchet ms]In the few moments before Winterwish spoke again, Rin took in the kitsune's appearance. She had seen several winged mammals in the past, one of them being the Typhoon captain with which she was plotting to neutralize the Pitt. The snowflake and petal markings were curious, but perfectly-shaped markings were also not an impossibility in this odd, irradiated world.

Then Winterwish was up and already walking past, without waiting for Rin to take the lead. She still wanted to be shown to camp, though. Not a problem. "It's that way," Rin answered, stepping forward and jerking her head in the direction of the main cave. There was also the sea town, of course, but she suspected Winterwish's interest in that would be limited at the moment, given that she had just gotten here.

Padding in that direction, she briefly glanced back to keep an eye on the newcomer. How much would Winterwish already know about Elysium? Rin had a limited idea of how word spread outside of the main groups, but Winterwish had expressed an intent to join as soon as she got here, so likely she had some knowledge of what kind of group she was joining. "How much have you heard about Elysium before this, out of curiosity?" she asked, twitching her ears.
