It's too cliche // blind date #5 // I won't say I'm in love - jacob w.c. - 05-02-2018

WHAT A PRIVILEGE IT IS TO LOVE — [member=452]lilyspoise[/member] and [member=66]PINCHER[/member]

Jacob wasn't sure what little caverns would be used for platonic or romantic dates so he just did his best to make them all look cozy. Of course, fire was out of the question so there wouldn't be any romantic, candlelit dinners tonight. Each room had a variety of board games and cards in case the occupants wanted to stay past their meal. There was a large spread of food in each room as well, with a variety of dishes including some that had meat and some that didn't. He wasn't sure what kind of dietary needs each of his guests would have so he tried to offer everything he could think of without making the options too overwhelming. Of course, there were a variety of types of pasta noodles and sauce along with various kinds of meat as the main course, then there was a fruit salad and regular caesar salad, and then there were a variety of deserts including the pastries that'd been out in the lobby and different types of cookies. He then put in a variety of soft pillows and blankets to lay on along with a low table in the middle containing all the dishes. There was hot chocolate, wine, and water in each room (although he removed the wine later in the evening when he knew where children, particularly his son, would be). With everything set, all that was left to do was remove the wine from rooms with children and wait for the guests to arrive.

This room was special now, though. Now that he knew who was going to be in here, he couldn't help himself from rushing back. He just needed to add one more detail. He still hadn't worked up the courage to give Pincher a duck in person. He'd meant to give it to him earlier at the party but he'd been so excited to see him, he'd forgotten all about it. So, he put a little, yellow, rubber duck in the center of the table. He let out a soft sigh as he looked at it. Soon Pinch would be in here with a Lilyspoise, who Jacob already knew was rather nice and warm. He was sure they'd get along well. He wasn't sure why that thought made him upset. He shook his head and turned, exiting the little space to make sure everything was set in all the other rooms. —A GREAT HONOR TO HOLD YOU UP

When Lilyspoise signed up for the blind dating event, she had thought that she'd be paired off with someone from Snowbound. Someone she could meet, chat with, maybe get along with, and she didn't then she could simply not talk to again. Harsh, maybe, but it was the truth. However, despite that "plan," she had not only been paired up with someone she knew, but the leader of her clan. For a brief while she had been a touch worried, but she knew that Pincher was a relatively chill person, so the date wouldn't go past today unless both parties wanted it to. Honestly, though, even though she signed up for a romantic blind date, Lil simply wasn't interested in pursuing that kind of relationship with Pincher. It wasn't anything against the doberman, but he really wasn't her type. One date, though, was perfectly fine.

As Lil entered the room she let out a small sigh of relief, glad that she was the first one there. It gave her a chance to look around and assess the situation, or at least part of it, because Pincher was a pretty big factor in this equation that she couldn't predict exactly. But that was okay, because from what she could tell he wasn't going to do anything if she told him not to; he was a bit rough around the edges, but he was not that kind of person. Pincher was better, undoubtedly.

Noticing the duck left for Pincher, Lil smiled softly. She didn't understand the duck exchange between the two, but she had helped out with it before. The two seemed to be rather close, and perhaps she was reading too into it, but it seemed like Jacob was really fond of Pincher. She could imagine he was jealous of her current predicament, and she wished she knew where he was so that she could assure him nothing would truly come of tonight. The tabby was not particularly close with a lot of people, but she liked Jacob quite a bit, and could see them becoming close in the future. Even if she did like Pincher, she doubted she would pursue him while knowing that Jacob liked him so.

The sound of the curtain shifting caught Lil's attention, and she looked over to the source.
"Hello!" She chimed, fighting the urge to be overtly professional. Pincher was her leader, yes, but he was also her friend (and she supposed that tonight he was her date, too). "Are you enjoying the night so far?"
