TOO DULL OF A KNIFE / p, hushsound - MERGED - 10-03-2019

caesar couldn't help but feel bad hushsound had to speak to get his point across when caesar and blue had joined. the poor guy had sounded pretty terrible, and after a bit of chatting with npcs, he found that it was a shock he had actually spoken to him in the first place, as he communicated mostly through writing. he had figured he had just been writingin the dirt so he could see when he was so high up..

so caesar, being the people-pleasure he was, had decided to do two things. one was make a nice cup of tea for poor hushsound- for his throat and the whole allergy thing that had gone down recently- and two, caesar was learning to read. once blue could comprehend all of it, he would teach blue too, not wanting the boy to make hush talk anymore then he already had to. he knew the abc's- the song, at least- and the letters were simple enough to learn, but the words were what really got him. at least he was trying.. right?

since blue was napping, the little ape was clutched onto his back, oddly enough, instead of in the sash that the baby chimp normally slept in. in the sash was a jar of honey that he had found while out exploring, incase hush liked honey in his tea. stopping on the little porch of hush's hut, he gently knocked on the door with the side of his fist, hoping that hush wasn't asleep at the moment, setting the mug of tea down in front him as he sat to wait.

Even though Hushsound had been forced to speak in actual words to Caesar and Blue, he hadn't exactly felt angry at them about it. After all, it wasn't as if every animal in the wild had to be required to read, and very few people knew how to communicate in sign language, so he wasn't bitter about it. He was a little upset, since it meant that he had to have use his rough and hoarse voice and have yet another poor soul hear it. It didn't really surprise him that apparently Caesar felt that he needed to bring the young feline some tea, since inevitably his words always sounded like they were coming out of some sort of broken robot rather than another member of the Typhoon. Still, he would've preferred if somebody else had just come along and made it so that Caesar and Blue didn't have to hear his voice at all. Honestly he preferred his voice just being a grand mystery to the entirety of the group around him, since he hated the sound of it, and couldn't imagine that anybody else would like it... plus his social anxiety made it so that he wasn't very comfortable speaking at all, even if his voice had been absolutely angelic.

Looking up from the book he was reading when Caesar knocked on his door, he blinked in confusion at who it could be, and slowly got to his paws, moving to open it with one of his paws. When he saw that it was Caesar and Blue, and saw the tea thar was set in front of the male, he blinked in confusion before hesitating and looking back at Caesar, a small frown on his muzzle. His sword clattered loudly against his hip as he hesitated before awkwardly waving a paw, not really wanting to speak up. He tiltied his head to one side and lifted the ridges of his eyebrows is a silent question of "why are you here?" He didn't mean to be rude by not speaking at all, but he didn't usually force himself to speak unless it was a very urgent situation, and while Caesar's joining had been considered "urgent", Hush didn't even know what this was, so he stayed silent, glancing up at Blue.

when the door finally opened, caesar gave a little dip of his head, shifting so he was able to walk if he needed. “i thought you might like some tea, especially after the whole incident earlier.” he offered , lifting the mug to set it closer to hushsound, taking out the honey from the sling and reaching back to replace the honey with the sleeping baby on his back, settling the young boy in the sash. the boy showed no signs of waking up any time soon, so thatlusted some weight off of caesar’s shoulder.

im sure you’ll be happy to hear that i’m trying to learn how to read, as well! i figures it would be a good skill, especially considering that’s how you seem to communicate.

Tea. Caesar had been kind enough to bring him tea, and here Hushsound found himself feeling just... confused. He stared down at the cup for a long moment before Caesar continued on with his eyes, talking about how he was trying to Iran how to read. Blinking in surprise, Hush hesitated for a long moment before speaking weakly, his voice still sounding ripped and shredded as he mumbled so softly one would have to strain to hear, "Oh... thank you for doing such a thing, I suppose... you don't need to do that though. I'm really not worth all of the trouble..." Despite the fact that Hushsound liked interacting with others pretty often, he still found it... fascinating that others insisted on trying to be friends with him. After all, he couldn't even talk right without a huge amount of effort, so why was it worth bringing him tea, or learning to read for him? It just didn't make any sense, and Hush found himself looking at Blue rather than Caesar, a soft sigh leaving him.

nonsense! i don’t want you to have to speak. you should want to if you do speak.” the chimp stated, ealing blue start squirming around in the sash before a barbie doll was chucked in hush’s general direction- right over his head and into the hut. blue was awake again, his nap having not lasted long, and he was smiling broadly at hush. caesar’s eyes widened and he grabbed his son’s hand and pulled him up and out of the sash to let him swing and climb on an arm. “blue, we do no throw your doll at our friend!” he scolded the little chimp, who only shrieked happily, too busy swinging on his father’s arm to pay attention. he heaved a sigh. “im sorry, he’s still a wild boy. he’s learning.

Hushsound couldn't help the soft smile that came to his face as Caesar spoke up, and he was about to respond, when suddenly a small doll went flying over his head and clattering to the floor of his little temporary home. He looked back with wide eyes for a moment before his attention was drawn in by Blue, who was awake and already proving himself to be a bundle of trouble for his Father. The Hero of the Wild couldn't help the soft laugh that left him when Caesar scolded the child, shaking g his head a bit to communicate that it was alright. When Caesar turned directly to address him he blinked in surprise before just meowing softly, a bit of a smile on his golden muzzle as he explained, "Don't... don't worry about it, I understand. I know how rambunctious young children could be." He could still remember the stories that the Hero of Twilight would tell him when he was still Link, about all of the different things that the girls who were like siblings to him would do. Link had never had any siblings of his own – and he doubted he ever would, given his repeating cycle of reincarnation – but he still came to find that he enjoyed the presence of children, even if they were as loud and excitable as Blue currently was.

he heaved a soft sigh, watching his son swing on his arm, shaking his arm slightly and watching the boy shriek and squeal. "i don't understand why he keeps throwing it it you or trying to hit you with it, he seems to like you well enough." he grabbed the little monkey by the side, his hand big enough to fit around the little baby's entire waist, pulling him off his arm adn putting him over his shoulder to climb there so he wouldn't have to hold up his arm. "i love him, but he tires me out." caesar chuckled softly, feeling the boy use his head to stand on his shoulder.

Shrugging his shoulders a bit, Hush mumbled in his soft and warn out voice, the roughness of disuse gradually beginning to fade as he continued to speak, although he shifted uncomfortably every time he did so, "Perhaps he just isn't sure how to show that he likes me, so he's trying to share things with me. Just in a very... violent way, granted." It was the only thing he could really think of as he glanced back inside of his house, where the doll was sitting abused in the middle of his floor. When he turned back to Caesar, who was sighing as he glanced at his son, Hush smiled softly and said, watching Blue as he curiously climbed all over his Father, more enthusiastic than Hushsound was sure he could ever be, "Well, you could always find somebody else to take care of him for a bit when you needed a break, like a babysitter. I could always attempt to assist, although I've never really taken care of a little one before..."
