TALK ABOUT SPACE && dovedeparture - idyllfields - 08-16-2019 idyllfields stars did fall their plans were finally being pushed in motion. shelving them months before, idyll had decided at the time it was best to pace themselves lightly as they traveled. first, they had mismanaged their destination and landed in the typhoon. the journey, while not entirely perilous, was dreadful when they had a whirl winding fear of any body of water larger than their own. a month of a journey it had take was spent clinging to a bedpost and eating or drinking barely anything until they hit land. only days later did they once again set sail to complete the crew's initiation to complete their alliance to them. that in itself had been... an experience. least to say, idyll needed a break from traveling by water. when they had become to feel around for any whereabouts for ships heading in the direction of crete, a merchant ship and contacted them with a contract attached. multiple answers to fill out about what they were bringing and how long they planned on staying in crete. if they were bringing any passengers with them or baggage. it had been put away for a couple of weeks while they mulled it over. idyll had yet to tell the captain of what they were planning to do, unsure of how she would respond. it would only be... a quick trip. just to see and visit their father. catch up. maybe even return with him if it came to. idyll was very aware of their loyalty to the typhoon and the oath they had taken as a healer, but there was still slight uncertainty. would she request to wait until their war was over? or maybe even... maybe even not go at all, lest they be harmed? idyll had taken it upon themselves to approach vandal's cluster of treehouses. still encased in vines and overgrowth for the most part, they kept themselves in the more sturdier side of what was left. they opened their satchel and carefully pulled out the contract, reading it over and over. this was their chance to see their father. actually see him now as an adult and not as the child he visited once, twice a year. the coyote released a deep, dragging sigh and they pressed their forehead into their paws, head hurt in confusion. Even so, the best-laid plans of mice and men often go awry. Dovedeparture was beginning to believe her plan - her plan that she had so meticulously worked out - was crumbling. It had been so simple in the beginning; she had found purpose after her fall, and her job as guardian was going swimmingly. But things were more... difficult here. She was becoming too attached to things, and it seemed her wings burned more with each day that passed. And what of her confession after her entrance ritual? The lynx frowned, drawing her wings closer to her body as if to protect them. In her heart of hearts, she knew there was no protecting them with the path she was strolling down. She knew she had to make subtle adjustments to her scheme, and so she would. The cogs in her mind turned and turned and turned. Oh, how she cursed this vessel's way of thinking. It was too slow. Perhaps she were too impatience. Frustration bubbled up inside of her. And that was another thing that was dismantling her plan - the emotions. The crewmate hummed lightly to herself as she moved through the territory, trying to find somewhere to lose these overbearing thoughts so that she might focus on proving herself instead. For reasons unknown to her, she marched towards the tree houses. Her eyes trailed the foliage, and she admired how the flora was succeeding in reclaiming what once had been its own. There was beauty in it, of things being cut down and coming back stronger. Absentmindedly, the fae spread her clipped wings. Would they return to their original state as well? The sound of a troubled sigh reached her, and white ears perked. Dovedeparture moved toward the noise, strung along by curiosity and a desire to aid whomever seemed upset. "Hello there. What's got you down, sweet pea?" she inquired, craning her neck to get a good look at Idyllfields. She moved then, to join them in the tree house. "Sorry if I'm interrupting your reading," she added, motioning to the contract with a paw. She made no move to try to read the thing, for prying into the business of others wasn't exactly her cup of tea. Re: TALK ABOUT SPACE && dovedeparture - idyllfields - 08-28-2019 idyllfields stars did fall too often did idyll's planning derail out of control in some odd ways. they were so meticulous in all the minor details that the major ones seem to be overlooked accidentally. the poor irony. often times their emotions also got in the way of their decision-making, just as this one had. like dove, they had gotten attached unexpectedly. not to a specific person, but the entire typhoon. their purpose, once just an ordinary off-the-street crewmate, now up and coming to be responsible for their friends and family's health. it had completely changed their sense of surroundings. growing up they had all they had really needed. food. shelter. toys to keep them entertained and mentally active. when all of that had left them, they were unsure of where to go next. they had to grow up on their own and... wait. life seemed to pull in so many unexpected different directions and turns. this. this was the one thing idyll hoped dearly went to plan. their head turned up when dove came to them, a soft smile on their face in greeting. "hello, miss dove. you're not interrupting... i think i need one, in all honesty. i am trying to make a hard decision but... well, it's hard." idyll giggled. they pulled the contract back and presented it to her. "i originally came to the typhoon on accident. it was a misguided landing when i initially intended to go to crete. i have been looking for my father for almost two years now and... i finally have the chance to find him. i am just not sure what will happen." they paused for a moment, their gaze dropping to the signature of the merchant captain at the bottom. "i plan on coming back to the typhoon, with or without him. i just... i do not know if i will have the courage to leave when appropriate. i have always idolized my father, but he is also someone i barely know. only through short letters sent every harvest and through notes he left in the books he gave me." soft honeyed eyes returned to the angel. "would you happen to have any advice?" Re: TALK ABOUT SPACE && dovedeparture - dovedeparture - 09-02-2019 [align=center]
Dove returned the smile easily, a pleasant feeling blossoming in her chest. Though she had really just met Idyllfields, she felt strongly about them. She could sense they possessed a heart of gold and a will to do good things. The healer was everything Dovedeparture hoped to be. Selfless. Kind. Gentle. Angelic.
The last factor was an odd thing to crave considering she was, by technicality, an angel. However, that was one thing she was beginning to doubt. She had fallen, and her status rested on unsteady ground. The title of angel was only half-true, wasn't it? The lynx was pulled easily from the swirling thoughts by Idyll's voice. "Oh, hard choices sound like no fun," the girl chuckled, maintaining her porcelain smile. Difficult decisions produced torrents of emotions - most of them draining. Or so she had been told. The creature glanced through the contract swiftly, absorbing the words with heightened curiosity. She made sure to listen carefully to Idyllfields's words. They had once called another place home? That thought sat strangely with Dove, for she assumed they had always called this place home. She simply added that to the list of reasons she felt connected to the coyote. "Two years," she echoed, a tiny frown tugging at the corner of her lips, "that is... a long time to be estranged." Dovedeparture listened and watched as Idyll's emotion and event speech shifted. A somberness washed over them, and the guardian felt strange pangs of (what she guessed to be) empathetic sadness rushing through her. At the mention of needing advice, the lynx drew her wings nearer. She was so used to only counseling Celestialrobbery that it surprised her. "Of course," she breathed at last. Another emotion formed inside of her. She could not articulate what it was, but she felt... glad that someone needed her. "Two years is a lot of time to be separated, as I said," she began, "which poses the question: do you believe your father to be the same man you've always looked up too - even if you only know so much?" Her words were soft and gentle. She hated to insinuate that their father's feelings had changed drastically, but time could alter even the sturdiest of emotions. She wanted them to be prepared in case things were different than they initially believed. "Also, do you have plans in place for who might heal in your absence? If we get that squared away, it would be easier for you to take up your journey." She offered them another smile. "As for your fears on returning in a timely manner, I don't think you should worry. When you need to return to us, you'll know. Home calls to us very loudly." tags & [url=https://beastsofbeyond.com/index.php?topic=12065.msg68767#msg68767][b][color=#3d3332]plot Re: TALK ABOUT SPACE && dovedeparture - idyllfields - 09-10-2019 idyllfields stars did fall idyll felt likewise toward the angelic guardian, feeling comfortable and a sense of warmth when around her. almost in a similar way that goldie's presence experienced; an air-light feeling of serenity. calmness. even in such a stressful, tough moment, dove's voice was like a wind chime in the storming thoughts in their head. they nodded their head slowly. two years had felt like forever to them, especially without anyone around them. they were glad to see the lynx now, when they began to start dipping into that lonely feeling again. seeing how helpful she was to celeste and how kind she was to everyone around her made them feel confident in what she had to say in response. the question they asked bad been answered with a few more, but ones that were just the slightest bit more eye opening. the coyote had taken into the fact that their father may not be who he said or was described as. especially when those details came from their mother, and a nanny being paid to care for them. it was in their naïve nature they wished only the greatest things their father was or could be. they practically ate up every bit of information their mother could provide. a replacement healer was... a decision they had not thought of. especially with their captain being recently injured and having to take care of her, idyll made sure to think more on this later. or now? maybe it would be smart to hash out ideas at that moment. "i don't know if he will be who i was always told. i can only hope, but i have come to accept that it may be different. but i do firmly believe a father cannot just abandon their child so frivolously. not when they've come so far to seek them out." "as far as replacements go, i admittedly did not think anything of it. i didn't imagine goldenluxury would be harmed to such an extreme. i suppose that will really push for me to speak to her soon about this, then." they let out a deep sigh. "i appreciate you taking the time to help clear my thoughts, miss dove. you're a godsend." they smiled, their shoulders at ease and free of tension. |
