I GOT PROBLEMS && Selby - trojan g. - 08-16-2019
[align=center][div style="bgcolor= black; width: 500px; font-family: georgia;font-size:12px;text-align:justify"]It had been a while since Moth had been promoted to chaser, though she had remembered when she had been promoted that Crow had mentioned medicine as a path that she could go down, and it clicked with her. Moth was curious about medicine, and had been since she had found out that it was actually a thing that the members of different groups practiced in sometimes. She wasn't the best at fighting due to her being scared of so much, but she was sure that she could eventually get used to things when it came to medicine, so, although it had taken a while to get up the courage to ask - especially with everything going on in the group right now - Moth had decided that she was going to try and find Selby and ask him for help.
Padding over to the garden that she knew he liked to be in - it was also a place Moth was curious about, if she was being honest, considering so many of the different plants were things she had no idea about - the female would look around for a while, trying not to get lost. " Selby?" She would call out, ears pricked as soon as she had done so before she called out once more. "A-are you here?"

[align=center][div style="width: 51%; text-align: justify; font-size: 10pt; letter-spacing: -1px; font-family: georgia;"]Recent events left Selby without a proper garden; what was left of the old one was shriveled and beyond salvation, killed by the humongous plant that had made him ill. The sawbone has taken to calling it 'Magnum Purpura', Latin for 'big purple'. Perhaps not the most creative choice, but creativity was not among the traits one might accuse him of having.
This was the reason Selby found himself in the communal garden today. He was looking for some plants he didn’t have seeds for to take cuttings of, but so far he hadn’t had much luck. He supposed he could go to Delilah, but recent events made that option unappealing.
A sudden voice calling his name caused him to shoot up, his dark head peeking up over rows of plants to find the source of the noise. He found it without much difficulty, spotting the little island fox. "Moth?" he called out, alerting her to his position. "I didn’t expect to see you here."
And then he remembered that he was supposed to be teaching her, and he was kicking himself mentally. Of course she would come looking for him, Selby hadn’t even made an attempt to reach out to her. "Oh, I’m so sorry! I was supposed to be teaching you already... I’ve been so busy lately, I’d forgotten. Is that what you’re here for? I have some time now, if that’s the case," he rambled, mentally scrambling to scratch a lesson plan together. Truth be told, he didn’t feel ready to teach Moth. Though he knew a lot, he was lacking in experience and was afraid he’d say something wrong. Still, this was his job, and he’d be damned if he didn’t at least attempt to rise to the occasion.

Listening to his words, she would nod her head in reply to his question. "It's okay, I meant to come to you earlier, but with everything going on it was kinda hard." She would offer in reply, a smile on her maw as she did so. The raid, the rescue, members getting hurt or killed... it was a lot, and Moth could barely handle it herself, so she could only imagine how others were handling it.
"Any time you have is good! I don't really know, well, anything, about medicine stuff, so anything at this point would be helpful."

"It’s been hard, especially since I’ve been sick. I still need to look at that plant... it always seems that there’s too much stuff to do and not enough time to do it in." Truth be told, Selby did not usually mind being busy, but now he needed to make sure that he was accessible, both as a medic and a mentor. It would be difficult to strike a balance.
"I have a little time now. Come over here, I’ll tell you about some of these plants," he said, waving her over. When she approached, he would prod gently at the herb in front of him. "This is thyme. I remember it be it’s sort of springiness, plus it has a rather distinctive smell." Selby paused for a moment to let her examine it herself. "It’s good for congestion and sinus problems. Works well in teas, usually."

[align=center][div style="bgcolor= black; width: 500px; font-family: georgia;font-size:12px;text-align:justify"]Moth would make her way around the plants that were blocking her path, coming to a stop at Selby's side, looking over the plant that he pointed out - thyme - her face moving forward as he mentioned the distinct smell in order for her to get a whiff. The sound of him speaking reached her ears once more, and she would look over to him, head tilting back once more at it's natural place before nodding her head in understanding. She could tell by the smell that it would help with congestion - it was sharp, and smelled similar to something of heat that would usually help clear noses. "Does it have any other uses outside of that, besides being eaten or drank?" She would ask, curious. "I know there are some things that work inside and outside the body, but I don't remember what they are."

"That’s a good question," he said slowly, picking his words carefully. "I don’t think it does any good when used externally but I’d have to double check." He wondered if she could read. If she could read, that would make it much easier. He could lend her his reference books, that way she could learn even when Selby didn’t have the time.
He decided not to ask yet, not wishing to throw off the conversation. Instead, he moved onto the next plant. Selby gestured to the rosemary next to the thyme, inviting her to study it. "This is rosemary. It looks a bit like pine needles, and it’s good for a lot of pain and general uses. It can be ingested or used on the skin."
