didn't mother warn you?
Celeste was a curious individual, always, and right off the bat a couple people in this seaside group had piqued her interest. She couldn't seem to find the shy starkid -- Starlightbrigade, if memory served correctly -- but she did happen upon the Latin speaking demimortal, which was equally as good. Initially she'd been a touch wary of the other, but after seeing his wing, her nerves were eased some.

Still, she was a curious one, and she couldn't just leave it at that, so of course she padded over to the other with a grin on her face. Perhaps it was a bit blunt to just ask, but it was also the most effective way to get answers, and since that Dee wasn't around to stop her it couldn't be that bad of an idea.

"Hey, kid, are you a fallen angel or something? I'm just curious 'cause my best friend's one too, and you got the whole wings and horns and whatnot." She asked, cocking her head as if she was asking a simple question.
now she's gonna mourn you!

[div style="margin: 0 auto; border-width:0; width: 70%; text-align: justify; font-family: arial; line-height: 1.5; font-size: 9pt;"]He never thought of himself as an angel to begin with. He was born like this, wings and no horns. The only thing he ever really seemed to have inherited from his demonic father - at first - was his colour and strange, glittery blood. He thought himself to take more after the Soothsayer but that had changed when one of his wings had been taken by him and his horns begun growing. "Fallen... angel?" He assumed that by 'best friend' that the bright fem was speaking of the one dubbed Dovedeparture. It certainly aroused his interest towards the pair, intrigued by he nature of their relationship. That being said, it didn't lesson the feelings that gave way when Celestialrobbery asked him for his origin, his heritage. It was like someone was forcibly digging up the wrong man's grave - disrespectful and unaware, clearly intruding on untouched territory. The simple question was salt to his wound and, while the boy's glasslike eyes were often unreadable, there was sliver of an untamed cry within his icy hues. "...no, no I'm not," he instantly debunks, "I've never been close to the Heavens.... but I believe my father was....once." Or maybe Elijah was making things up. Trying to remember his parents was as difficult as reciting the numbers in pi. He had spent all this time trying to forget his family. They never came back for him after all.

"I, uh, was born here. I didn't always have horns but I don't think it's because of any 'demonic' deed that I've done. They just started growing some months after I was born - I had my wings first though. I had them before I... -" his gaze turns distant again, tail brushing against sand as his wing stiffens slightly. His feathers puff out, fizzed and unruly. "-... I was, um, captured once. Tried to run - uh, well, fly - away but to show their message, they took away one of my wings. They left the other as a... reminder. That's why I only have one wing. I was never an angel to begin with."

Elijah twinkles his interest towards Celeste, swallowing uncomfortably before returning to his nonchalant demeanor. Now was his turn to ask questions. That was how the rules of socialising worked, no? Even then, he thought it was only fair for him to continue the conversation...but this time Elijah wanted to be the conductor. "If you don't mind me asking, how did you and Dovedeparture become friends?"

didn't mother warn you?
Celestialrobbery listened closely as Eli spoke, nodding every once in a while to assure that she was still listening. She didn't want to interrupt the other, because she did have some sense of manners, but didn't want him to think she'd just asked a question and immediately spaced out. So she found her happy medium in occasional nods.

"I guess I'm technically close to the Heavens, but not as much as Dee once was." Celeste pondered aloud, shrugging as she spoke. "I'm kinda like... a half fallen star, half embodiment of a sun? Not like, the sun, but a sun from somewhere." She shrugged once again, not sure what to make of her own predicament, but clearly not terribly worried about it. It seemed her calm demeanor wasn't a mask, but rather just how casual she naturally was.

She quieted down and listened to Elijah explain how he grew his horns after birth, and how someone stole his wing. Immediately her fur began to glow, expression hardening, and eyes shifting from lilac to red as she grew angered at the world-- more specifically, the ones who did that to Elijah. "Those bastards. They got no right stealing your wing like that. I swear if I ever see them, I'll make sure they regret it." She said, flexing her claws into the ground before shaking her head.

"Sorry-- I probably came off as a lil' strong there. I just can't help it-- when people are so needlessly cruel it just... it angers me so, so much." Taking a deep breath, her fur dimmed and eyes returned to lilac hues. "I know we just met but you're cool, and deserved better than that. So I'll fight for you if you ever need, okay?"

After that affirmation, Celestialrobbery moved onto his next question, one that brought the signature bright smile back to her face. "Well, I traveled around a lot, and one day I stumbled across this lynx, right? She's a worried mess, trying to fly with clipped wings and talking up a storm about all sorts of celestial stuff. And by now I knew I was essentially a sun reborn, so I was like, 'Oh hey, are you a traveling celestial too? Because I am!' and all of a sudden she was like, 'Oh sunshine, this must be fate' because she totally fell for all my wits and charm in that moment." Celeste recounted the tale, using all sorts of funny voices and laughing as she shared the story. "So then we decided to travel together because it turns out she's my guardian angel, and so she's traveling with me now! Eventually we decided that, after a couple too many close calls, that we'd have a better chance of surviving if we joined some sort of group. So now we're here!"
