Starlight's footsteps are soft on well worn and wet earth as he slowly trudges onward toward the island in the distance. His eyes have a faint and almost distressed glow to him, as if his spirit was yelling out for help through his pearly white and grey gaze. He continues on only because, quite frankly, he has nowhere else to go. His mind prior to the last hour seems like a newly washed set of laundry, with no signs of the scuffs of history that seem to come from living. The only thing that resides in his brain and on his tongue is his name – Starlightbrigade. the name is like a tether, yanking him forward on slim and fluffy legs towards the glistening light of the island in front of him. He wonders vaguely if anyone actually lives on this island, or if he is ultimately being guided to nothing but his death. He supposes nothing would really be lost if he died. After all, in this state he seems to be nothing more than an elaborate vessel, like the prettiest vase being used to store your grandmother's ashes. Ultimately, he's nothing but a blank slate, and if he's just wiped out, there's nothing to mourn over. You can't mourn over someone who doesn't exist yet. The oddly colored maine coon is forced to stop contemplating his own existence when he finally comes to the edge of the land bridge, a pungent and new smell curling around his face and assaulting his nose. Waves are lapping weakly at the sandy shore, similarly to the ones that roll steadily off of his back, reflecting the light off of him and dripping down into nothingness before they reach the ground, like one of those everlasting water fountains. He blinks in quiet thought at the waves before stepping into them, curious as to whether or not his colors would fade from his body, torn away by the waves like paint. When he remains his strange blue and purple gradient color, he wrinkles his nose at the failed experiment before stepping back out and flicking his paws to dispose of the moisture. He seems to carry no real worry about the group that resides here seeing or attacking him, his thoughts focused entirely on the matter of the water at hand. He was finally startled out of his pouting by a strong gust of wind that made the tall jungle trees around him sway almost violently, and the sound of steps reaching his ears. He tried to look around for this new intrusion, but whoever had been approaching him seemed to who have paused, evidently stunned by his unusual appearance. From the lilac goat horns on his head, to the blue and purple gradient that made up his fur, to the water aesthetic pelt that made him look like a constantly shifting sky full of stars. Despite the fact that he felt no shame in his strange appearance, he could imagine that it would probably be stunning or even upsetting to a lesser creature. The maine coon sat there in the sand for a moment before finally opening his muzzle, meowing in a soft and raspy tone that held no warmth but also no hostility, "Is someone there...?" [b]TAGS • STARLIGHTBRIGADE OF THE TYPHOON Re: CAPTAIN OF THE PIKE ☆ joining - Splitvisage - 08-05-2019 Darksouls had once believed himself to be a blank slate, but now that he knew for sure he was not, he couldn't fathom what it would be like to actually be one. To not have memories, hopes, or fears... he had far too much of all three to imagine being devoid of them. He remembered his home, he cared for his siblings, and he feared ever going back- a strange combination, some might think. The horned creature with stars in his pelt was not the strangest sight Darksouls had ever witnessed, but he halted in his tracks nonetheless, briefly entranced by the gradient in the stranger's fur. Blue and purple were calming colors to him, far removed from the heat of danger, and that combined with the waving pattern was... oddly soothing. When the newcomer finally spoke, though, Darksouls stepped out from under the foliage to reveal himself. "You are on Typhoon territory," he answered, twitching his ears. He could hear Inkquill offer a low quack of curiosity from atop his head. Clearing his throat, he continued, "Who are you?" /ishpost Re: CAPTAIN OF THE PIKE ☆ joining - starlightbrigade. - 08-05-2019

The maine coon's eyes flicked up curiously at the reindeer as he finally emerged from the trees in front of him. Although his eyes only lingered on the actual reindeer for a moment, before they moved all the way up to Inkquill. He had never seen a creature like that before. Although, he supposed that he had never seen a reindeer before either. Still, the duck seemed more different to him, and thus more interesting. He spent several seconds just staring curiously at the duck before padding forward and mumbling very absentmindedly as he stood up slowly on his hind legs, holding his paws up towards Inkquill despite the fact that Darksouls was far taller than him, and he didn't even come close to reaching the duck, "I... I don't know who I am, really. My name is Starlightbrigade, though. I think..." Truthfully he wasn't sure, but the name felt closest to his heart, and he could only imagine that it was his own. He then mumbled softly, continuing his little swipes in the air at Inkquill, "What is that thing...? I wanna touch it..." [b]TAGS • STARLIGHTBRIGADE OF THE TYPHOON Re: CAPTAIN OF THE PIKE ☆ joining - Splitvisage - 08-06-2019 Darksouls watched silently as the stranger approached, began to stand up on his hind legs, and reached his paws for what Darksouls assumed were his antlers. He didn't know who he was, he said, but he knew his name at least: Starlightbrigade. That was a fitting name to be sure, given his fur color. Once Starlight clarified that he wanted to touch Inkquill, Darksouls furrowed his brows. Inkquill was about as hardy as you could expect from a bird, but that still wasn't very hardy at all. Before he could say anything, though, Inkquill had already hopped off his head and landed on the sand. The duck quacked at Starlight again, as if in greeting. Someday he was going to get himself killed, Darksouls thought to himself grimly. "Just be careful with him," he asked, his ears flattening back. "His name is Inkquill." After a moment, he added, "My name is Darksouls. If you want to stay here, you can." The youth might have sauntered right by the gate had the sun not caught the most unusual pelt he'd ever seen. Ikaia's thoughts happened to have been lingering elsewhere, on a little fox he'd spent a previous day with. He knew better to go looking for her too often, least stirring up trouble but he missed his new friend and felt inclined to surprise her at some point. His deep chocolate eyes grew wide with wonder as he faltered, a fire of curiosity lit and burning. The strange cat seemed more than enthralled by Darksouls' companion, but he spoke anyway. "How come your fur looks like the sky?" Like stars. "It's cool," he added hastily, ears flicking back. "I'm Ikaia, by the way. Are you joining?" ( you are the dawn of a new day that's waking, a masterpiece still in the making )

Starlight's eyes lit up as the duck hopped down from Darkspuls's head, and he slowly nodded and mumbled softly as he moved closer to the bird, "I'll be careful, don't worry..." He sounded like he wasn't truly paying attention to what had been said as he inched closer to the duck, gently placing his paw on top of Inkquill's head before purring softly, "Hello there, soft tiny creature. I like your name.... Inkquill is an interesting name." His paw was still on top of the small pet's head when he finally acknowledged everything else that was going on around him. He blinked slowly at Darksouls and Ikaia, evidently in thought, before he meowed softly, his eyes drifting off towards the trees behind them, "You said this place is The Typhoon, right? I will stay here, if you all will have me here without issue.." It wasn't as if the feline had anywhere else to go right now, and he still didn't know what kind of person he truly was, so he might as well stay here and see if he could figure things out while he had protection. His thoughts then drifted to Ikaia's curious question, and Starlight finally removed his paw from Inkquill's head to twist around and gently touch at his own tail and lower back. He watched the dizzying pattern of stars and sky colors run steadily downwards for a moment before turning back to Ikaia and shrugging his shoulders, "I'm not sure why I look like this... I just assumed that most pelts looked like this..." His eyes scanned over both Ikaia and Darksoul's colors, and he was disappointed to find that neither of them had colors nearly as bright and intricate as he did. He supposed that maybe he was the odd one out here then. Looking back at Ikaia's face, he mumbled softly, "I'm glad you think it's... cool." He didn't remember anybody calling him cool before. It made his heart feel kinda... weird. [b]TAGS • STARLIGHTBRIGADE OF THE TYPHOON Re: CAPTAIN OF THE PIKE ☆ joining - bubblegum - 08-06-2019 GOLDENLUXURY ROUX
I HEARD, I HEARD ACROSS A MOONLIT SEA
THE OLD VOICE WARNING ME BEWARE, BEWARE THE DAUGHTER OF THE SEA
information — plottingBEWARE, BEWARE OF ME. An unfamiliar voice seeking the attention of others had entered the captain's feathered ears, though it was far off, and she would need to navigate where exactly it had come from in the first place. Luckily, more voices arrived before her own, and continued to speak up towards whoever had called out on their island, making it easier for the female to make her way from the shoreline along the bay to the jungles a bit farther from the gate. The tigress' powerful legs carried her quietly towards the small group, her glowing heterochromatic eyes glancing to both of her crewmates before focusing on the stranger. She'd linger on the male's pelt for a moment, feathered ear tips twitching slightly as Ikaia comments on it, as well. Her own fur is not so unnatural - though it is feathered, softer, and shinier than a true golden tiger, but she is still not too phased by the different appearance. It was certainly unique - she found it to be quite pretty, personally. However, they'd always been surrounded by unnatural looking individuals. Hell, Lucifer was the God of the void or some shit and was fucking ginormous. (And they weren't even irradiated like their swampy allies!) Because of this, she did not feel a need to comment on the appearance for now. Her slit pupils observe the scene before her silently at first, tail gently twitching as she notes the fact the stranger, apparently named Starlightbrigade, was looking to stay here. She allows him to finish speaking before saying anything herself, the large female holding a curious expression on her features as she stands beside her crewmates. "We're happy t' have anybody so long as they ain't gonna drag anyone down," the captain would state simply, giving a nod to the male. The pirates could be a wild bunch, and she liked it that way. Their care for freedom is their most important aspect and she wouldn't turn anyone away that didn't deserve to be. "Overheard ya say you don' know who ya are. Whoever it is, I know 'll be glad t' help ya figure it out." What exactly the male had meant by not knowing who he was, she didn't know, and she wouldn't pretend to. Though, she could relate to the feeling. When the female's memories had been locked away from her young mind, she had tried so hard to be this Goldenluxury Roux everyone had claimed she was, but inevitably became her own Goldenluxury Roux in the end, even after discovering those memories once again. She didn't like the idea of anyone wasting so much energy into being someone they did not know, so she offers this vague help for now. Perhaps she can learn more of his situation some other time. "M' name's Goldenluxury Roux, 'm the captain o' the Typhoon." Re: CAPTAIN OF THE PIKE ☆ joining - starlightbrigade. - 08-07-2019

Starlight looked up when Goldie approached, and the cat blinked slowly at her, his eyes trailing over her bright pelt. She wasn't quite as bright and unusual as him, but she did make him feel a little less out of place, thankfully. His ears perked forward when she began to speak, and he gave a faint nod before speaking after her first remark, "I don't think I will drag anybody down... I don't have any intention to, anyways." He didn't really know what his morals had been before he ended up here, but he doubted that he would be intruding on anybody's fun here or trying to stop them in any way. When she mentioned that she would help him figure things out about who he really was, his little pin-prick white grey eyes lit up in faint excitement. Once she had introduced herself, Starlight slowly nodded his head to her before meowing, his heart going much faster than it had been when he had first arrived, "It's nice to meet you, miss Goldenluxury. You'll really help me figure out who I was before all of this? Because that would be very appreciated. I don't know where I come from, or how I ended up here." His eyes drifted back towards the island they were on, and he faintly pressed his paw into the sand he was sitting on, watching the blue and purple appendage slip down into the beach before he pulled it back up. He wondered if he had ever lived somewhere like here. He couldn't recall anything like that, but it wouldn't be out of the realm of possibility. I HEARD, I HEARD ACROSS A MOONLIT SEA
THE OLD VOICE WARNING ME BEWARE, BEWARE THE DAUGHTER OF THE SEA
information — plottingBEWARE, BEWARE OF ME. The female would nod towards his response, never really assuming he would. Most folks joining pirates seemed to know better than to be lazy assholes, and even if they didn't, they'd find out why they cannot go that route soon enough. It was not really her main concern with joiners, but she figured the little warning certainly would not hurt to give. The tigress watched the male quietly, twitching her feathered ear tip as he seemed to grow excited by her offer of assistance, though it seems he may have missed her point. She takes a moment to think of her response, unsure of how to explain what she means exactly at first. It was hard to explain the complicated lessons she'd learned from her own loss of memories in the past. Still, she'd need to try if she wanted to help at all. The things she did learn were very important. That way, he may not make the same mistakes as she had. It was too hard pretending to be somebody you didn't know, and it stagnated your own growth. "Now, I dunno if I can promise all that." She'd say gently at first, looking to the male with earnest eyes. After all, there were basically no hints of who this guy was before or where he was, or if he would even have anything to trace back. "But wha's important is that ya learn who ya are right now. It'd be nice t' know who you were before, but is' also key ya let yourself be who you are in the present, whoever that ends up bein'." Perhaps it's cheesy, but the pirate captain did not ever mind being cheesy. If something was the truth, she was happy to spout it. Lessons from life were important and she was eager to teach anyone her own if that meant keeping them from the trouble she'd gotten herself into before. "If we're lucky, hints will come in time." Even with her memories locked away, she had vague feelings, and then sometimes things would trigger her mind to remember something - anything. Her papa's death, her mama, her horrors as she was threatened, nearly killed by one she thought she could trust, those feelings that the sand in the Pitt were familiar, but not the same as ones she called home. They were steps towards her sharing something with that Goldenluxury Roux everyone said she had been. |
