the task had been pretty simple in benny's perspective for the little guy to do. steal some shit and head on out. vague enough for him to take anything he could carry, specific enough for him to know what the hell was going on. when word that essie had returned came back came to him, the fox decided to turn up and congratulate him.


"I gave him a job and he did it, relax bucko." benny grumbled as he came up beside cosette, looking at the bundles of herbs. "ya got somethin', so good job on completing your task." if essie wanted another he knew where to go. for now though it'd probably be best that some weird old guy stopped harassing a child... for some reason unknown to him.

"don't you gotta job t' do, chief? kiddo did his, go find somethin' to do. go steal more food or somethin'." he suggested with a simple shrug of his shoulders before looking to cos with a smirk. "get a load of this guy, yeah?"

Jeez a person had to be a special kind of asshole to be mean to a kid.  That was exactly what Dante was, a special kind of asshole. The wolf pup still felt insulted by the hybrid, when it really came down to it weapons were hard to come by from a clan that didn't really have weapons to start with since it was against the code of the clan itself, or unless a member carried them themselves as much mentioned by Tsuyu.  Seeing that he was probably not going to make headway with the hybrid, the pup sat on his haunches, lifting a leg to scratch his ear as he did so, only because it felt itchy. " Since you suggested it how 'bout you go a steal weapons? Since it seems to so important to you?" he prompted. " Should be a walk in the park as they say?"  he added a touch smug.

Okay his ego was returning, mostly egged on by everyone else who was clearly defending him well sort of from Dante.

Okay it was hard to keep from feeling giddy, after all Dante was rude towards him, so throwing that challenge down without much thought would have went well.  The pup for the life of him tried to stifle the delighted giggle mostly from the now following relief that kicked in right after his ego boost.  He was delirious from it, going from pride, to hurt, to smugness to relief, and now joy in less than twenty minutes so anyone would assume that yes the pup needed that.

Even the additonal advice to keep his hubris down, since pride could easily destroy anything or anyone for that matter. " I'll try... But it felt good to get him to do something else.. I didn't expect him to go and do it."
