Re: Cleanup - beach cleanup event A - Morgan - 08-17-2018
(A little bit of time has passed by now, but feel free to keep posting retroactively if you want!)
Morgan took a look around the darknening beach, admiring the work his fellow Tanglers had done already. He had just finished putting a strange little bottle into one of his bracers; with that, the area he and Vigenere were working on was completely clean. The samoyed walked around the area, sniffing around for any trace of trash or driftwood, and was delighted to find none. "Thank you all for your help! We've made so much progress, everyone!" The canine looked up into the sky, only to see a starry night sky that had replaced the pinkish hue from before. "It's pretty late now, so you may all go home if you want. We've got even more things coming up soon, so make sure to come to our next meeting." "Besides those small announcements, I don't really have anything else to say. I'll be leaving in a bit after taking one last look around the place." In truth, he also wanted to go fishing; he hadn't stayed at Vigenere's house in a while, so bringing some food for the two of them would be nice. malphas was panting. opening his bag, he checked- he had a lot of trash, but he wasn't sure if it was more than anybody else. he gazed up- wow, with everyone working... the beach looked really nice. morgan was leading them to greatness, he knew it. he carried his bag to the side, then turned to morgan. "oh, come on, you're just gonna send us all home? i'm really hot, i'm gonna go swimming!" he told his leader enthusiastically. he had changed so much since he joined. from asshole social-anxiety ridden drunkard to one of tanglewood's respected medics, and not afraid of what people thought of him. he turned swiftly, running along the now-clean sand, and plunged into the water. it felt good, melting away his heat, and he resurfaced. "come on, let's go swimming!" Re: Cleanup - beach cleanup event A - aya - 08-18-2018 [div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 55%; font-family: arial; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;"]Aya was all set to go back to her lab and keep working after a day's physical labour, but Malphas' idea of swimming wasn't... an unpleasant concept. Sighing begrudgingly, the tortoiseshell took a running start and cannonballed off the beach, soon re-emerging near Malphas. "Come on, Tanglewood, this is a bonding exercise." She said encouragingly. Re: Cleanup - beach cleanup event A - Morgan - 08-19-2018
Morgan almost laughed out loud when Malphas dove into the water. Seeing the Medic in an actual good mood was quite unusual, though definitely appreciated. "Alright, why not..." He waited for Aya to enter next before running and hopping in. The water was nice and cool; the canine cooled it even further with his powers, getting it chill enough to sap the irritating heat from himself and the other Tanglers.
"Not a bad idea, Malphas." He smiled and dove down into the water, looking around the sandy floor. He pushed himself to the bottom and pulled a seashell forward, bringing it up to the surface after securing it in his maw. "Maybe this'll be a good gift," he whispered, looking in the general direction of his boyfriend. He dropped the shell into the water and directed it into one of his bracers for safekeeping. Re: Cleanup - beach cleanup event A - HAMMOND - 08-19-2018 [align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]The sands seeping between his toes was more nostalgic than the Heeler would've liked. Drawn to action by a call that signified he had a duty to perform, Axle had been rather quick to approach the scene. At first, he had not cared for the heat scraping against his paw pads, but as the group grew closer and closer to him his head began to pang with insignificant pain. Gaze growing distant, the sight of various different species grew blurred as worse sights and sounds tickled his senses. "You let us die, it's all your fault..." he swore he heard his former owner say, he swore she was building castles of sand on these very beaches as well. Slowly a paw moved to rest on his muzzle, a habitual coping mechanism for Axle when he wasn't sure of the reality of his memories. The sand felt like it was creeping up his legs, and eventually a flinch appeared on the Heeler's face when it felt a bit too real. A squint of his eyes seemed to be enough to quell his horrors, and when the dog dropped his paw again he had a look at his legs. It'd just been a spider. Shaking his appendage, the arachnid would fall to the ground and scuttle off, leaving the blue specked creature to focus on the present. Grabbing one of the bags, honey coloured eyes would widen in surprise when he realised that the beach had already been cleared. Shit, how long had he been out for? He turned his attention to those splashing about in the water, refusing to lighten up and join them in their fun. Too many deadly creatures in the ocean, Axle wasn't going to be shark bait for another. Jaw tense, the canine would just sit down observing, letting the bag drift lazily between parted teeth as he began to pant. Re: Cleanup - beach cleanup event A - aya - 08-19-2018 [div style="margin: 0 auto; width: 55%; font-family: arial; font-size: 11pt; text-align: justify;"]Aya was perfectly content to splash around with Malphas and Morgan for a minute, but when she spotted Axle pointedly not joining in, she made her way over to him. "Hey, Axle, right? Why don't you join us? As a more recent member of Tanglewood, it's important to form bonds." Obviously she had just made up some bullshit, but she did want the dog to join in. Her yellow eyes fixated hopefully, but she knew better than to try and physically encourage him. tags | updated 19/8: Re: Cleanup - beach cleanup event A - HAMMOND - 08-19-2018 [align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]Brought away from his gazing by another voice, Axle would blink hard as he fixated on the female's form. It was a familiar pitch that almost sent his stomach churning once more, but she was very much real and very much alive - and that was good. Being asked to join in caused his head to tilt just slightly, though he did his best to masquerade his confusion at such a question with a frown. Could he not just hang around and watch? Bonds surely wouldn't matter for long, whilst his reality his future with the group was up in arms, the canine didn't think he'd be sticking around long enough to care for such things. "No,". It was an answer as blunt as anything, Aya's age at least making his tone a little softer than if someone deeper into adulthood had asked him. They'd die before him, and he'd only have himself to blame if he formed platonic bonds with them - for something as trivial as a little swim in potentially infested waters, it was a risk that Axle refused to take. |
