Re: SUPERSTITION / july lunar festival - beck. - 07-16-2018

It required a lot of willpower to keep himself from flinching away at the arriving rogues, suddenly wanting to retreat back to the shadows and spend the rest of the night as a wallflower. What was he thinking? He didn't know how to hold parties; he had only been reintroduced to society three months ago. Beck bit down on his bloodless tongue quite visibly as he recoiled from where he laid out the food, bumping into the fluffy form of Morgan in the process. A subtle whimper slipped out of his lungs, but the boy forced himself to recover -- he couldn't be vulnerable in front of creatures who looked up to him, after all. Ignoring the fact his bothersome stump of a tail was tucking between his legs, he glanced back at Morgan and muttered back in response to the deputy's comment, "It should, right?" Doubt was plain on his freckled features before his expression returned to the stoic scowl it usually was locked in, yet a notched ear continued twitching in worry.

Scarred lips curled up into a crooked smile at both Malphas' and Arrow's respective actions, albeit impaired by the salt burn that had torn away most of his left cheek. The small gesture was promptly shut down when Arrow pointed it out, to which Beck jabbed his nose up at the smoke-filled sky and gave a ragged scoff in defense, "I ain't smilin'." He was quickly distracted again by Morgan and Vigenere's discussion, swiveling his head around similar to an owl's to interject, "Ya gotta keep it a surprise, 'member?" It would be more anticipated that way, and then unwilling clanmates couldn't back out once their plans were underway. Then the festival might actually prove to be successful.

During the awkward lull of conversation, the mangy little feline shuffled his paws until he couldn't bare the white noise of crackling flame and distant crickets anymore, stammering out with an embarrassing voice crack that caused him to falter back into his native accent, "So do any of y'all have any -- any stories?" A cold flush rising to his face, Beck proceeded to cough and wheeze in hopes of covering up his mistake while still glancing from face to face. Ghost stories were always amusing to mock, in his opinion, and perhaps animals had their versions of campfire tales, too.

But Heed this lesson well,
When the weak court death, They find it -

"what was that about warming food?" a slightly resigned voice asked - since when was he clan heater/oven? and idly he wondered if father had become clan 'cooler' in the blistering heat lately, the thought made him feel a little amused if anything.

the regent paded up to sit beside morgan with an inclined brow and a soft snort as he idly loked about the place - a brief nod to Iota - still blue he saw - and Vigenere "antics is our usual state if anything - maybe more along the line of 'shenanigans' perhaps" was the amused retort, War tipping his head to beck.

[div style="background-color:#F0B1DB;width:90%; overflow: stretch;text-align: justify; font-size: 8pt;"]"Ah? Moon.." Delilah uttered softly, the pastel tabby slowly making her way over to the group to sit down, magenta eyes warm and welcoming to her clanmates, or were they groupmates? She stared up at the sky, before shifting over to settle down beside Vigenere, the only one she was completely comfortable with at this point. She hadn't made any true effort to communicate with people, which was terrible of her, but socializing was terribly hard for her. She was much too kind, much too fragile. It was easy to hurt someone like her, to get under her skin. She needed to fix that.

She laid her soft pink head onto her fluffy paws, ears twitching curiously as she listened to the conversation being spoken of.
