Re: THE DISTANT SHORE ♡ typhoon visitors - RHINESTONE. - 01-22-2021
RHINESTONESTAR ❝ RHINE ❞ LEGATE
"TALKING" || "TELEPATHY"
A lot was going on at once, and Rhinestone had to admit that he found himself a bit overwhelmed. For just a moment, he allowed his eyes to close, ears pressing down against his head and a deep breath entering his lungs. When he let the breath back out again, he seemed to have relaxed slightly, able to more easily focus on the large group around him. Granted, they were mostly his own members, but that didn't make their various clashing voices and questions any less rattling – thankfully, Sorbet seemed to have a bit of mercy, considering the other had remained silent. The legate's attention flicked down to the boy who was like his son, first, asking about one of The Typhoon's own. He knew exactly why Foam was asking about the other, but he couldn't help reaching a paw out, pulling the child a bit closer before he spoke, "Sorry about that. He and... Lovefool... got along quite well while the other was here, so he's probably just missing him a bit." He did have to admit that the name change had him a bit stumped. It had been a while since Lovekit was present in the Glades, but it didn't seem like it had been long enough for him to be an adult yet. Not only that, but his full name didn't seem all that glamorous... still, Rhine decided not to ask, figuring that was the safest option.

While the legate had no idea of Caesar's former crimes, the other was never all that good at greeting those on the border, and his greeting towards Roxanne only made things even worse. He knew her? How? Silently, he thanked whatever gods were up above for the fact that Caesar didn't say anything more, not wanting the demon to ruin their chances of... well, whatever Roxie was offering. Diya was the next to speak, and Rhinestone had to admit that her words gave him pause. His dark gaze briefly narrowed in confusion as she spoke of Elysium, as well as someone named Cooper. He began to speak, a bit of a frown curling on his muzzle, "Elysium? I think you might have me confused with someone el– ngh." A soft grunt left the serval as he took a step back, a throb of pain suddenly gripping the side of his head. Various images danced in his head momentarily, of stumbling through the snow accompanied by a rather large and oddly hued canine – Murdoc. Not only that, but he saw a vision of an older looking canine, telling him that he had managed to get the rank of decurion. It was fragmented and odd, with none of the memories actually seeming as though they were his own. Was something wrong? Was it an Elysite who had inhabited this body, before him? Unfortunately, he didn't exactly have much time to dwell on that, knowing he must've looked odd just standing there, holding his own head. Shaking it from side to side, Rhinestone then muttered, a heavy sigh leaving him, "It's... a complicated story, honestly. I think I remember Cooper, though... I might need to talk to you more, at some point." Maybe Diya would know about his past – or this body's past, rather. Although he was still reeling from his previous revelation, Rhinestone was quick to turn his attention back to Roxie, listening intently to what she had to say. The news about Caesar's past caused his ears to flatten, but not because he was displeased with her. Rather, he was just aggravated he hadn't known about it sooner – he should've known something was up, considering the other's general attitude towards outsiders. Of course, Quasar's questioning didn't help either, but the centurion wasn't wrong. The legate liked to get specifics before he ran someone out of town. So, once the pounding in his head subsided, Rhine muttered, "Quasar put it a bit more bluntly than I would have, but that is a decent question. I don't doubt what you say, and I don't exactly have an issue with kicking him out, but what exactly got him exiled from The Typhoon? More out of... morbid curiosity, rather than anything else." It didn't seem all that farfetched that Caesar could've done some fucked up shit, and as Rhinestone said, he wasn't exactly clinging onto the other for dear life. Rather, he just wanted to know what to watch out for, and what could potentially happen once Caesar was out. When Roxanne finally got to her actual proposition... well, Rhine had to admit that it caught him off guard. An alliance between The Typhoon and the Palm Glades? It certainly didn't sound bad, but he was surprised that Roxie was the one suggesting it, rather than the other way around. He would've figured their wrongdoings were too great for the other group to consider. However, Rhinestone was hardly the type to turn down such an offer, and he found himself soon nodding, "An alliance? I... that sounds great. We're certainly not the kind to turn down such an offer... we can essentially offer the same benefits. Events, supplies, support in battle... everything that comes with an ally, really." A bit of a smile then came to his muzzle as he added on, "And I must say... you're certainly more agreeable than certain others I've worked with in the past. So yes, I'd be open to an alliance." In the case of their alliance with the Coalition, Rhine had only agreed to it as a matter of survival. He had felt no loyalty to the Coalition itself, and he had, quite frankly, hated Stryker's attitude. Still, it had been necessary to keep his group alive. By comparison, Roxie was a far more attractive prospect, and he wouldn't essentially despise her at every turn. Caesar's expression changed to a more angry one whenever Roxanne mentioned his deeds and his exilement from, well... everywhere. The demon's tail tapped the ground, his eyes narrowing, as he spoke to defend himself, "It was just an overreaction from them." He lied, knowing full well it was him who had the overreaction. "So I attacked my clanmates, so what? It's not like I have a bone to pick with anyone here." Yet.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] |
