Re: are we born this way? [o] power mishap - number nine. - 11-16-2020

Frustration filled Number Nine as Quasar thrashed about, the canine snapping wildly at the empty air around him and making the jaguar's jaws ache. While the bounty hunter could certainly understand why Quasar was frustrated and angry with being touched, he was still reluctant to actually let go, claws briefly digging into the earth. However, Dovah"# words and Vaas's approach caused the old warrior to pause, his covered eyes briefly flicking over them both. Dovah couldn't see? Nine had known many blind people in his years of life, and most of them were happy and able to adapt to their disability, but none of them would wish it upon anyone else. It was something that you learned to live with and embrace, not something that you ever wished would happen to yourself, or others. This was what caused Nine's ears to flatten back against his skull, his jaws opening to drop Quasar down onto his hind legs. The male's voice was as calm as he could manage as he addressed Dovah, "Don't panic... Vaas is here. We're going to do everything we can for you, alright?" Much like Rhine, Nine was just desperately hoping that this was only temporary.

As Rhinestonestar worked on calming Quasar down, Number Nine moved away from the pair, well aware of the fact that Vaas probably didn't actually need him. After all, the jaguar knew very little about actually tending to wounds, and it wasn't as if he had any powers that could just snap Dovah back into sight. Despite this, he still made his way over, coming to settle down into a sitting position beside the smaller feline, mainly for comfort. He stretched out one of his paws, keeping the same reassuring tone that he had used before as he tried to essentially hold Dovah's hand, "Dovah, can you do what Vaas said? Close your eyes, and focus... if you're hurting, just squeeze or bite on my paw. Don't worry about hurting me, I've definitely dealt with worse." He didn't know how Dovah was feeling at the moment, or whether the other was even cognizant of those around him, but he wanted to offer support. He didn't have healing abilities, nor was he particularly great with emotional support, so being able to offer a high pain tolerance seemed good enough. Just something to give Dovah a point to hone in on so that he could calm down.
