  [font=trebuchet ms]All of this was about a necklace? The necklace was well-crafted to be sure, but how important could it have been? As Starrynight explained, however, Rin nodded, examining the pendant more closely. Shards of meteorite having survived the impact, and all buried within the Starpool... it was certainly strange, but not completely out-of-this-world. It was only natural that the objects would catch the seraph's eye.

  Their job, then, was to locate a shard for each of them- that would be no problem, even with the roughness of the lake bed. Rin tucked the loose end of her scarf inside the folds to keep it out of the water, then cautiously stepped out into the lake, proceeding slowly to avoid disturbing the soil below. Noticing a small spot of black a few feet away, she carefully approached it. It seemed to be buried underneath a few other rocks, so she cleared the rocks away, then tugged at the black shard. It didn't budge.

  Narrowing her eyes, she pulled with her full force on the shard. The rock finally came loose, flying into the air, as Rin stumbled backwards and fell into the water from the sudden release. The shard landed on her forehead and bounced off, landing in the water as well.

  With a sigh, she retrieved the fallen shard from the water and held it up. "I got mine." The cost was probably worth it, but she suspected that the others would remember this for a while.

A new tradition, perhaps? That sounded nice, as the group hadn't had any traditions before, or that's what she thought. The Starstruck Guardian would peer into the depths of the Starpool and a small glow of pink could be seen.

Luna would dig around in the water for the shard before she successfully pulled it out. Rose quartz. How pretty. "I found my shard." She said.

Bastille was aware of his plan, so he didn't look any more interested than he had when originally joining them. Sure, he thought the tradition was cool, and was willing to play along in finding his shard -- but he couldn't claim to be shocked, nor was he the type to fake it. Was anyone even monitoring his reactions, anyway? Nope. After watching a few others crowd into the pool, he waded after them, letting his paws shift slowly through the sand below. He wondered if he should be feel some particular draw, but dismissed that thought; they were meteorites, sure, but they weren't magic or aura-bound.

After a few minutes, he brushed something smooth. The general scooped it up, confirmed that it was meteorite and not some other gem, and headed after Suite with it. He settled beside her with a brief yawn, and added, "Same here."

//OOC

Starrynight sat grinning, tail swaying gently behind him as everyone began wading out and staring at the water. While they hunted for their shards, he began to empty out the contents of the other burlap sacks he had brought with him, laying them all out straight on a white sheet. The Astral Seraph took care to organize them all by type - chains, string, lace... - which, in turn, were organized into subcategories. There were small, fine silver chains, some larger, some gold, some black. There were simple strings and beautiful laces, all in different colors. Some were clipped magnetically, others by hooks, and others by clip. He had made absolutely positively sure to have as many kinds as he could find.

By the time he was finished, most members had finished their search, proudly brandishing their own black, lumpy rocks. Lunafreya caught his attention. It looked like she had a shard of a pink stone in her jaws. The feline grinned at her apologetically. "Sorry, Luna, but you're supposed to find one of these!" He tapped the shard at his paws. "But hang onto that! It's funny that you found that one. Keep it, okay?" Then he turned back to the crowd that watched him. "Okay everyone! As you can see, I've got a whole bunch of laces here. Don't be shy- pick the one you like the most! The one that speaks to you, would be another way of saying it. I'll wait until you're all done."
