Commotion drew his attention from whatever he was doing and he sauntered over, a lazy smile on his maw as he studied the other. "Why hello there." The Italian-accented male would murmur, his gaze scanning the other as if to assess vale. "Who are you? I don't believe I've caught your name."

Re: not quite grace, not quite beauty // joiner - VALE - 09-02-2020

Steam coiled out of the spaces between Vale’s teeth, until the flesh began to grow anew over the jaguar’s exposed skull. The shapeshifter shed flesh and discarded mutations quicker than crocodiles replaced their teeth. When ze turned to the panther, one of zir red eyes finished forming.

“Your voice sounds funny,” Vale said. It reminded zir of a time before all of this animalistic shit—when ze had been in a shithole world dominated by humans. The memories pressed behind zir eyes, itching for zir to remember the brother ze’d tried to save from the dead. Asking zir once again to look for the innocent ze’d dragged into this world for zir selfishness; Clarence couldn’t adapt, not like ze could, didn’t adapt as easily as—

Vale’s bone tail flicked, vertebrae separating and flexing. “I’m Vale.” Zir head tilted, the muscle and skin reformed. As though the puddle of blood and flesh between zir paws was a piece of meat and not a pound of flesh. “Well. I just joined. I’ll be staying until I get bored, I suppose.”

He lifted the corner of his maw. "My voice is weird? No no no, it's yours that is strange, my... interesting-looking friend." He didn't find anything weird with his accent, the girls loved it, but oh well. Who cared about another person's opinion? If ya got a problem, say it to his face. Vale did, and he liked how direct zir was. "You still haven't told me your name, if my memory nudges me a bit." A figurative brow would raise and he would sit down, calmly watching the transformation come to an end.

The jaguar shrugged, the leathery wings stretching on zir back. “I am strange. I suppose I could walk around like a normal animal, but where is the fun in that?” The freshly formed facial features smirked. Vale raised a paw to zir jaw and popped it with a touch of pressure. “What, are you flirting with me? While my face melted on and off again? Wow, dude, I thought I went for monsters, but you’re something else.”

Ze chuckled. The fur over zir body shivering as though in a strong wind. Sections blackened, the melanistic pattern spreading over zir pelt. Not unlike a fire starting in multiple locations and quickly consuming an entire area.

“The name’s Vale,” ze said, smirking again. Vale’s white teeth and red eyes popped against the melanistic coat—the mimic on the other's pelt. “And yours, my odd fellow?”

He cast an uninterested glance at the wings, not really thinking much about it. What was there to? He'd seen so much strange in his life another set of wings didn't really matter. So ze was called Vale. "I'm Jormungand, but you can call me Jor." A purr rumbled deep in his throat. "And I might bt flirting with you, I might not. You can decide that for yourself." It wasn't like he was intentionally doing it, it literally was his being.  He flicked his tail, watching his pelt shift and change in front of him with a strange smile on his maw.

Re: not quite grace, not quite beauty // joiner - VALE - 09-04-2020

“Jormungand? Does that mean you can become a giant serpent?” Vale said, grinning. “I joke, I joke. But. Seriously. Can you?”

At his comment on the flirting, Vale barked out a short laugh. “Oh, that’s such a cop out. So, you’re saying, you only match well with assertive people who’ll make the first move. Lucky for you, I have zero filter.”

The corner of his maw tilted up in amusement. Vale was funny. "Well, no, I can, in fact not turn into a giant serpent, but wouldn't it be wonderful if I could?" He teased. "I bet you can, though, with your shapeshifting stuff and all." He waved a paw in  the air in description of shapeshifting stuff. He shrugged at the zero filter remark and quipped back, "Then I guess you could count this as flirting." Then, as if to add the effect, he winked at Vale.
