Re: WORLD IS STIRRING SICKLY / meeting - Lawlocked - 08-15-2020 [w]isker everyone felt the weight of momma's loss; and as a clan they all mourned with her. it was a distant short of way, the newcommers would see it and only feel sympathy, some would even s n e a r in quiet pleasure to see their brilliant leader like this- his momma looked so alone and law similarly has yet to break his own silence. how could he feel safe when one of his pillars were gone? A sign that he had been doing well. That alone was enough to make Michael smile slightly, the coyote's tail thumping rhythmically against the ground. Despite this, it was difficult to be too happy about anything that was said, considering the state that Goldie was currently in. In an effort to try and let the captain retain some level of respect, he found himself dipping his head before he spoke in a soft bark, "Thank you, Goldie. And congratulations, Roan." He was glad to see his nephew progressing further in the world, even if it sometimes seemed as though the weight of everything weighed heavily on his shoulders. Nonetheless, he had been doing so much work lately that it seemed ridiculous not to promote him, and the thief was glad that Goldie could see that as well – not that he doubted her, even in her current state. Roan, meanwhile, felt very differently about the proceedings. The medic remained silent for most of it, nodding his head and muttering out a soft congrats to both his mother and uncle when their names were spoken. However, when his name was brought up, his blue eyes shot up in confusion. Soothsayer? Goldie thought that he was ready for such a position? Despite it being a no brainer to most others, the siamese himself found it slightly hard to believe. Still, he held his tongue, not wanting to reject the offer. After all, what would Ahab think if he rejected such a chance? All that work, and all that studying, for what? With that in mind, the new soothsayer called out simply, "Thank you, cousin Goldie." He allowed the rest of the meeting to go as – very loosely – planned, until it came time for the captain to speak of her wife's funeral. Roan found himself scowling, worry filling his relatively small form. Sighing, he raised his voice above the murmurs of the crowd, so that Goldie would be able to hear him clearly, "As soothsayer, I think that you should get some rest, Goldie. Hell, you're swaying on your feet up there. Pushing yourself won't do anything good for any of us, so... please." He then fell silent, digging his claws against the earth beneath him. If everyone else was too cowardly to tell her to rest, he'd do it himself. To say Aphra wasn't excited for this meeting was an understatement. The oriental longhair was dreading this meeting, having a feeling it would somehow involve her getting punished publicly. Despite that, the succubus came over, though hung more towards the back of the group. Fortunately for her though, none of the announcements had anything to do with her. Aphra let out a little sigh of relief, relaxing for the time being. She said nothing to congratulate the others, however, and simply decided to go ahead and leave - because obviously, this meeting was over with.[glow=COLOR,1,400] ━ ✧*:・゚[/glow] Re: WORLD IS STIRRING SICKLY / meeting - devland - 08-20-2020 [div style=" background-color: transparent; border: 0px solid black; width: 60%; min-height: 8px; font-family: arial; line-height: 110%; text-align: justify; padding: 25px"]Devland tried focusing intently on Goldie's words but the expression on her face filled him with unease. Though he usually found it easy to pay attention to things, this was different. He felt too uncomfortable to listen, too stifled by the unspoken sadness that burned around him. His eyes lifted to land on Goldie momentarily as his name fell from her lips. Just as quickly, his eyes shifted. When she called Roan's name for a promotion, he fought the urge to find his friend. He made a mental note to congratulate him at a later time. Goldie's words about the issues with the Pitt barely reached him, but the bit about Sam's funeral caused him to lift his head to appraise their Captain with half-lidded eyes. He hummed quietly, wondering what would happen next, wondering if the meeting had concluded with the awkward final word from Goldenluxury. When others slowly began to move out, Devland had half a mind to join them. However, Roan spoke up, demanding Goldie take care of herself, and the boy found himself stuck. A scowl formed on his features, eyes moving from the newly promoted Soothsayer to their leader. |
