HUNG PICTURES OF PATRON SAINTS UP ON MY WALL TO REMIND ME THAT I AM A FOOL. TELL ME WHERE I CAME FROM, WHAT I WILL ALWAYS BE: JUST A SPOILED LITTLE KID WHO WENT TO CATHOLIC SCHOOL
The proxy was often a very overwhelmingly friendly figure. It wasn't often an issue, since his warmth and naturally loving nature was usually a comfort to his fellow Tanglers. However, there was a prime difference between most tanglers and the new children spawned from Selby and Moth, and that was the fact that they were so small. They were so small and inexperienced when it came to the world, and it was easy for their uncle to be a frightening presence when he first met them. Ivan seemed to be the first to address him, and thankfully the boy didn't seem to be too startled, just curious. The angel offered him a warm little smile before he responded, shifting his newly thinned out shoulders, still unused to the lack of weight there, "Ah, that would be because your mother and I are adopted siblings. We chose to be family, rather than just being born together. And yes, I know your name. I saw you when you were very little, Ivan." He could still remember all of Moth's kits squirming together at her side after their birth, most healthy and enthused, while Moth worried endlessly over the status of the one girl of the litter.

Unfortunately, the next child forced to face him was Heathcliff. The boy was naturally nervous to begin with, it seemed, and Aurum's large and enthusiastic personality was enough to overwhelm him, along with the presence of everyone else. Aurum felt a frown come to his muzzle briefly when Heath hid within Alice's fur. However, he held back his disappointment, not wanting Heathcliff to feel guilty for the emotions that he couldn't control – although somehow the angel doubted that he would even if he saw his uncle's face. Alice said nothing directly to him, clearly overwhelmed as well by the presence of so many others, but Aurum said nothing about it, just waving a paw at her in a friendly way. He hoped that would be comforting, but he knew that there was a chance it wouldn't be. As a result of this, he stepped back a little bit, allowing all of the children to have a bit of space between them and he. He was hardly the only large figure here, but he wasn't going to force everyone else to step back as well. Glancing towards Selby, Aurum decided to address the father, figuring there was very little – or hopefully very little – chance of him spooking the sawbone, "I'll participate in the game as well, if more players are wanted, but I'm fine with giving the little ones some space too." He didn't want to scare Heathcliff or Alice any further, and Quentin didn't seem much interested in a game at all.
