He didn't come all this way to bring a basket of lukewarm muffins, trekking here and there for his own niece since he was informed that she would be here.
"Although they would have been better hot, with a glass of milk, they are lukewarm, provided by the cloth that are over them, with extra sugar onto top." Rene murmured with thought and with additional information, to bribe the young girl into taking the muffins, they were for her after all. He wasn't about to not let them go to waste when he knew that she enjoyed them, as in the past.

quiet tears at what kindness her family showed her, she smiled and nodded, gently nosing aside the covering on the basket, nose twitching at the wonderful scent. whining gently in delight, she wagged her tail, "no auntie, not in vain. sorry, i'm still unaccustomed to happy things being given directly to me. especially bkueberry treats." she laughed lightly, gently pulling out a muffin with a watering mouth. chewing slowly and enjoying it, her tail wagging and thudding against her hips as the taste flooded her mouth and childhood memories filled her mind.
she could remember running around rene or her mother's kitchen, snatching sweets and snacks, knowing neither would scold her too much. she remembered her papa or her uncle sweeping her up into the air and stealing a bite from her sweet and touching noses with her before sending her to play.

If Ramona remembered happier memories, that she deserved those things coming from what she had been through, and Rene even himself deserved the happiness that came with all the memories even they were now remotely bittersweet and caused a lot of ache in his chest now. The hybrid was pleased to see that the muffin brought back memories, and he shook his head slightly. "I disagree, you deserve all the happiness in the world, no one, and I mean no one of your age deserves what has happened to you, nor do you deserve to live in here in constant fear."

looking up at rene with big green eyes, her mouth going dry as she swallowed the sweet treat, "i dont deserve this?" she asked quietly, mind flicking back to the loneliness and misery berore flicking an ear, and taking the next sweet and setting about devouring it, mulling over her thoughts.

You do not deserve this, and it's not your fault." he murmured softly brushing his muzzle once more onto the teen's head and sighed. He was going to remain the same reassuring person that Ramona knew, even if she probably described him has a sweet-tempered person, which wasn't that far from the truth, after all, she never heard him sass someone directly and without an ounce of remorse.

Not even the adults are to be blamed for the wrong that occurs, we are all a part of the long session game of life and death. No matter how many times we are chipped, or cracked, we move on. We must, that is the only way to strive on in life." he nuzzled the girl, enjoying the moment with direct peace, and a burning ember in gut refusing to die down.

Rene chuckled softly and agreed with her on that, nuzzling her still, and pretty much happy.
