watch the chick fall out the tree [visitor] - Honey - 04-26-2019 [align=center] And so I tell myself that I'll be strong -
❁ tags-powers❁ [ooc: i'm unsure if I want her to join Elysium or Tanglewood. Whoever is more active :/] It could be alarming for some to see such a young child be wandering alone. Perhaps the most alarming thing was her totally emaciated figure. So where was she going to? Nowhere and everywhere. Just wandering till she found mama or her siblings again. Slowly she would walk with the carefulness of one who was sore. Her paw pads were swollen from over use. The little puppy didn't pay too much attention. But wow it was getting awfully cold, a violent shiver swept over her as she took another step towards wherever. A small whine escaped her but she kept going. Maybe they would be around here? Cold easily chilled her to the bone, there was no fat or muscle to provide an extra layer of warmth. The little painted dog wasn't even made for such weather. a woman watched the young pup, her eyes saddened for the youth. "sweetheart." the tigress called out, her above-average height made her stand out compared to the surroundings of trees and whatever else lay within the terrain.
"are you lost? you look so tired, little one. why don't you sit down for a little and have some water? there's a river nearby." she murmurs as she approaches, attempting to give off calmness and a motherly presence. she was concerned about the youngster. space

[member=1077]kade .[/member] [sub][W]isker[/sub]she was big. Very big. But her words were kind and soft as she looked and she was the only person she had seen in ages. The little puppies tail wagged despite her pain. For the first time in a while she stopped walking for a reason other than to sleep. "Uh yes, I'm very very thirsty." Eyes were wide and full of trust. The idea of someone with malicious and evil intent was beyond her. Sometimes people weren't in a nice mood. That was all. As the figure edged closer her tail stopped to wag, she sure was big. The striped tigress with her exotic pelt. Nothing like the lions and leopards and meerkats and all the other animals. And certainly nothing like mama. But where was she? "Oh..", her ears pinned back, she really was tired but she couldn't wait, "well.. Not really." She was young and lying was not in her and so it was really unconvincing. But it was a white lie. "I have to find my mama, me and my siblings went looking for her. But we- I lost them too. I don't know where they went either." Her stomach no longer grumbled, instead there was a hollow yet heavy pain in it. Constant and dull. Every once in a while it would jab deep and sharp. A wave of that pain started in a small concentrated area and quickly filled her tummy. She winced and her ears pinned back. Looking up once more she sat down and huffed, "But I've been looking for a long time now. First I ran. Then I couldn't do that anymore no matter how hard I tried. Then I walked and walked and walked. But I have to keep looking. They'll miss me. They do miss me. And I miss them." Determination was in her every word and while her body said different her spirit was strong as ever. She wasn't asking for help either. Simply telling her mission and speaking in that overbearing and too much information way that children often have. a soft and easy breath left the woman as she took in the sight of the tired girl coming her way and her eagerly wagging tail. "sweetheart. let's get you some water before you keep going, okay? it has been and will be a hard journery to take on alone without some friendly resource along the way. you can call me ari, okay?"
the tigress then nods her head back behind her, "come, let's give you some water and something to eat. you said that you lost your siblings, love? well, if you want, i can help you track your siblings and mom down? i'm what some people call a mercenary, or someone who sells their protection. you don't have to be scared of me, love." she tells her as she turns to lead the way into the territory to at least let the girl get some rest and to treat any sores on her paws. space

The petite Demdji had to marvel at Kade's motherly actions. Always soft and kind spoken. Even the occasional anger she saw from the other was oft protective or from reasonable cause. The little sand cat shook her head quietly in wonder as she bounded over, the slightest frown dusting her maw as concern creased her brow. She had been young, very young, when she had been separated from her mother. Not an accident. Families could mean trouble for the masters, afterall. She'd been lucky to live with her elder brother. Even so, she'd gotten into a mess when she'd ran away, found herself all alone in the world. But Ebra found me, eventually. And she was no longer alone. Not really. Even if she kept everyone at arm's length. The Magna decided to go for a smile as she fell into step with the tigress. "I'm sure your siblings would have more luck tracking you down if you stayed in one place for a lil while, yeah?" That's how Ebra found her the first time, in a place she'd been staying for a some time. "And you'll be able to work even harder if you take care of yourself." [align=right]— I tell you this story, save your life, set you free Re: watch the chick fall out the tree [visitor] - Straw - 05-02-2019 People of all kinds showed up at the border, but this was the first time she'd seen a lost pup. A lost pup on a mission, at that, searching for her mother and siblings. If her words were to be believed, she felt like her entire family's safety was her responsibility, to the point of continuing on even when utterly spent... and at such a young age, too. Taking on burdens like that even when they weren't directly placed on your shoulders was a path Straw knew very well, but not a path she wanted others to have to follow. As she approached, Straw was cautious not to get too close- she didn't want to crowd the kid, or make her feel claustrophobic. Upon reaching the group, she reached a paw up to adjust her mask. "I can help too," she offered, with a small nod. She had a decent sense of smell and some experience with exploring rough terrain, so maybe she'd be of some use. ❁ tags-powers❁ Funny how she had no mother and suddenly had three strong women before her extending their hand in help. But such humor was beyond her. Honey was just grateful to be in the presence of others who wanted to be by her. Being the social creature she was the pup had seeked interaction with others, often being met with less than favorable acquaintances. [sub][W]isker[/sub]"Oh ok. Hi Ari, I'm H-Honey. I am hungry, I think. But we have to start looking right after! I haven't smelled their scent in a long while but maybe I'll find it if I keep looking I just know they're out there." But then the smaller lady spoke, her words made Honey's large ears flatten back in contemplation, "I've never thought about that before..." Truth be told the pup had never considered they may be actively looking for her too. She always pictured them just waiting for her. In one place. But the lady didn't know how hard it was to hunt by herself! A pack pup didn't bring down prey alone! The dog is as good as the pack and the pack is as good as the dog. And she had none. So what did that make her? Nothing? A spotted tail would tuck under a little at the thought. But another lady show up and Honey's eyes couldn't help but linger on the mask. What was wrong with her face? Why did she have to cover it up? She really wanted to ask now but got sidetracked. All these ladies wanted to help her! "Okay! Excitement coursed through her. Now she wouldn't be alone! Wobbly did she arise and look at the tigress and the rest with a smile and a hopeful glint. a softness warmed her gaze further, leave it to the women to get it done. looking at her groupmates gratefully, kade dipped her head with a smile, ears twitching.
"alright, honey, let's get you some food and some water and you can tell us about what your family smells like so we can keep our noses out. it is best if you sit here for a while and let them come find you, big'. space

❁ tags-powers❁ Honey frowned, everything seemed fine and promising. However she couldn't quite recall just exactly what they smelled like. [sub][W]isker[/sub]"W-w-well it has been so long. I forgot really but I know when I smell them I'll know it's them, I'll just know!" but now once again Honey had to submit to fate and that was a scary thing. She hated not being able to do anything. It made her feel small and weak and even when it wasn't her fault it was somehow. So what would she do? Just wait? "It's mighty cold around here.", she said as she pressed into the plush tigress for some warmth. putting her tail around honey's shoulders, the tigress would purr warmly, "it is cold. let's get you to my den at first, alright? there, you can find some furs to curl up in and I will bring you some food, alright? I'm sure everyone will be happy to help keep you warm, okay?"
she was used to colder climes, always on the move, always hunting, ensnared in battles that she was sure she was growing too old for. the cold rarely bothered her anymore, not until her whiskers froze and her ears stung. but looking at the youth pressed into her side, she couldn't help but feel the slightest chill, perhaps for an old memory of the girl that she had raised and trained before this little one found her way here. space
