NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - MOONMADE - 10-07-2018

[size=9pt]"Gooood morning, Vietnam!" Comes a tinny, harsh voice, echoing through the observatory and bouncing violently off the walls. In Moon's paw is a megaphone; Lord knows where he'd gotten his paws on it, but word on the grapevine was Satan himself supplied him with it. "Rise and shine, folks. It's that time of the week again."

The Meeting started early. The sun was just barely raising its hedonistic head over the treeline, and there really was no reason for anyone to be awake this early. But, see, Moon hadn't slept. With the electricity of unexplained anxiety running itself up and down his spine all night, he hadn't caught a wink of shuteye. He'd thought some stuff over. There was shit he had to say.

"Starting with the easy stuff; Welcome, Ren, Syndicate, Vanillafrost, Azazel, Titan, Syndicate and Abraxas. Hope you don't get sick of us too soon. If you've got any questions, we've got a crew of Starstruck Guardians ready to help you out. Don't go to Thea, though. She bites.

Oh, also-- Snowbound's got a Mass Gathering going on right now. Pop in. Build a snowman.

"But, back to Thea biting-- There's an elephant in the room I gotta' address. Or, a snake-eyed merchant not in the room." Pause for laughs. "You've likely heard by now that Sunhaven paid us a visit yesterday. If you haven't, you're probably as deaf as Bub is blind. Either way, I'm here to give you the lowdown; Somehow, some way, we managed to rub Marina and Buckingham up the wrong way. Personally, I thought our rugged nonchalance was pretty fuckin' charming, but they weren't feeling it-- They dropped the alliance." He runs his tongue over his lips, because, as slightly hilarious as this whole situation was, Moon understood Bast might not be so proud of the-- What was it they'd called it? Lack of diplomacy. "Now, this probably just means we have a sense of humor and they've yet to find theirs, but this whole thing stinks of bad shit to come, so there's some stuff I gotta' go through.

"Firstly, Thea-- Stay the fuck away from the border if there's official shit going down. Unless there's some obvious joiner hanging around looking like a lost puppy, I don't want to see you within a mile of the boundaries. Not until you learn how to bite your tongue. Secondly, from here on out, I want weekly training sessions. I know we're all content shoving our noses up the asses of Astrology Maps and leaving out muscles to rot, but we gotta' be able to protect ourselves. Higher Ups should take it upon themselves to set this up, but, for now--" A pregnant pause, where Moon glances to the most hulking figure on the outskirts of the crowd, and his lips tilt up. Mirthful. "Bub. I know you don't have any high position yet, and, honestly, I don't feel like you want one-- but as repayment for how much of an asshole you are, I want you to set up this week's training session. I know you got some freaky shit under your belt. Just-- don't eat anyone.

"On to Promotions and Demotions,"
Under the lion's paw is a crinkled piece of paper, complete with various leaderly notes, and he looks down and seems to falter for a moment. He runs his paw over it, smooths it out, and reads the words over and over until he grows the balls to speak them. "Peri, demoted." Says Moon, finally, and, for a moment, he looks into the crowd in hopes of finding her until he realizes the chances are about zero to none. He clears his voice, promptly hops on to the next announcement, though his tone has dimmed. "This means Cleric tryouts are open. If you're interested in giving it a go, tell me now, and I'll set one up. As for promotions-- Gabe, congrats. You pulled through. Step back up to Starstruck Guardian." Says the Astral Seraph, and then, in a bizarre moment of what he'll soon realize was painful foreshadowing, says, "Just don't go ratting us out to any fish-breathed fuckers, okay? Hope that traitor shit was just a phase. The Alzheimer’s setting in, or something."

"Alright," Sighs Moon, and finally employs the key phrase he's learned since last week; "Meeting dismissed."

Re: NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - FUBUKI - 10-07-2018

[align=center][div style="text-align: justify; width: 60%; font-family: georgial; font-size: 11pt;"]For someone who hadn't been keen on having an otherworldly being wake them up, they sure were keen to be dynamic when it was too early to even think straight. It was a hypocrisy noticed by the feline as he emerged from his home, barely having time for a morning stretch as he shuffled over towards the meeting place. His limbs begged for the sweet release of death, his brain gave him messages to just give up and no-show for his own sake, but Ren was practically on auto-pilot for too long before he considered listening to his body. Meetings, no matter how vexing the timing may've been, were a melting pot of intellect that could've taken him months to gather otherwise. It wasn't exactly like it was simple to go up to a stranger and ask for the week's news after all, most likely they'd reject his offer or give him a half-assed response. This motivation pushing him through the final corridor, the bicoloured feline found a seat by himself among the growing crowd, lounging casually as he awaited aforementioned information.

A welcome for him, a mass gathering in a foreign power, Sunhaven business and the wise decision to keep a hothead under control, training sessions, cleric position open, a promotion. All easy to remember, though some of the announcements would've made him groan with disapproval had it not been for his quiet disposition. If someone in Sunhaven was blamed for murder, he could understand why they wouldn't treat a life-changing accusation like a joke regardless of whether or not they were guilty. Training sessions as well... hopefully they wouldn't be as early as this meeting was, Ren regretted yawning through several of the announcements and to do so when he was supposed to be doing physical activities would certainly make him butt heads with whoever was hosting the event. It was a confrontation he wouldn't have minded, but rather avoid. Lifting a hind paw to scratch behind his ear, Ren gave a clear nod of understanding mid-itching, slowly blinking as the meeting was dismissed.

His head slowly started to droop as they were dismissed, yet something told him he wouldn't have fun trying to get back to sleep. Cats were rather lazy by nature, but it didn't mean it was easy to get some shut-eye again after someone blasted a megaphone so close to his home. With all of the talking and shuffling of paws that was bound to happen down the corridor as well... yeah, Ren was cynical. Standing up, the feliade turned on alabaster heels and started to wander off back home, keeping his cranium down as to avoid conversation at that current moment in time.

Re: NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - BUBONICPLAGUE - 10-07-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; padding: 10px; height: auto; overflow: auto;"][div style="width: 400px; padding: 0px; line-height: 14px; text-align: justify; font-family: helvetica;"]ah, finally, a reference he could tolerate. and, quite frankly, the only reason he didn't bust out of his room and go down to immediately throw moon off the nearest cliff for making his ears bleed. the dire wolf was reluctant to actually pull himself out of bed, but he supposed he'd might as well attend. as always, he had nothing better to do.

bubonicplague's ears twitched as he padded down the hall, listening to moon ramble on as he finally joined the small crowd, just in time for the comparison of their deafness to him being blind. a quiet grunt escaped him. he wasn't fond of the boy using him as an example, but with how utterly dead the place had been recently, he supposed moon had no one else to pick on. jaws stretched in a yawn as he began to tune him out, dropping to his haunches and scratching near aggressively at a spot behind his ear.

bub.

his head lifted at his name once more being uttered by the lion, going on about him not having a position and probably not wanting one—true—until the dreadful job assignment came. the demon's lip curled in annoyance. moon was getting quite a kick out of this, wasn't he? maybe he'd just up and leave right now so he could avoid the task. a big ol' fuck you to the flea on his shoulder. "no promises," bubonicplague drawled lowly, heaving himself up and turning to lumber off back to his room. there were already a few people he'd been considering eating in this place; perhaps if they pissed him off enough during the training session he simply wouldn't be able to help himself.

Gatherings were not unfamiliar to Titan. His pride gathered once every week or every other week, or perhaps in a time of urgency. It was reassuring to know that the Ascendants held them as well; what good was a commune when uninformed? Ignorant on current events?

The lion took his place somewhere near the back, where he wasn't necessarily sitting close to anybody. He gazed up at Moonmade, taking note of the informaton that he conveyed to the crowd. His own name had been mentioned, which didn't garner a reaction from the stony lion. Most of this was new to him, however, seeing as he still needed to educate himself on the politics around here. "Snowbound" was holding a gathering, which Titan would attend if his leader so wished. They had been dropped as allies? That certainly wasn't good news. Allies were always vital to have, especially if you had enemies. Hopefully the Ascendants could hold their own against this "Sunhaven" in a raid ( which wasn't looking so great at the moment, considering that half of this place was children ).

Weekly training sessions... now that was his forte. It was sure a step back from the daily training sessions that he had endured all throughout his cubhood, but it was still training nonetheless. This was good; Titan didn't want to grow rusty.

That was all pretty much it, until the meeting came to a conclusion. That was relatively brief, though still chock-full of information that he'd surely need for future reference. Titan then proceeded to turn his attention from Moonmade and follow the crowd as it dispersed.

Re: NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - MirrorEdge - 10-08-2018

Thea had been doing a bit better, enough to mumble a few protests about how she didn't bite, much, anyways. If it was Oni, the case would likely be different. "I'm honestly surprised he didn't ban me from the training sessions, as well." She muttered under her breath, tails whipping back and forth in frustration. Considering the last 'sparring' session she had ended up with Oni losing his eye, and her with more scars than she cared to count on her chest and shoulder, she supposed it would've been fair, even if she had been under the influence of the darker essences during that time. There was really no way to tell how much control she had over it, even if she did have any now, unlike before.

Re: NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - azazel. - 10-08-2018

Azazel, in all honesty, shouldn´t have been out and about so early. He was still hurt, and weak, but the agony that had gone through him when he had first fallen was fading. His right wing still tugged along awkwardly, broken and painful as it brushed along the ground, but he was doing better. He could walk, even if he had to hold up his leg as to avoid putting weight, and by extension, hurting it more than it was. It was just a matter of getting used to this new place. As it was, his ears perked up at the mention of tryouts for something. Even if he was young, maybe he would have a chance. It helps that he could do something, at the very least. "How old do I have to be for Cleric tryouts?" He wasn't exactly sure what it meant, stumbling over the word, but if it meant he could do more besides sit around, he´d take the chance.

"Never too old to learn, kid." Onision spoke up from behind Azazel, the Lieutenant's voice calm but still holding his usual tightness. He didn't want to open up to those he didn't know personally, maybe that was his biggest flaw. He was stubborn, meeting new people made him want to punch stuff. And- and- How did people even fucking move on from losing their parents? How could someone leave their only family behind? Why were the Gods so fucking satisfied with screwing Onision over?

The chocolate feline soon bumped into Thea's side, a cocky grin on his face as his single blue eye watched Moonmade with caution. Fish breath? "Are we ever going to launch a raid on the fish fuckers? We've been sitting around talking shit about the Typhoon, but have done nothing to back our asses up." Oni blurted out shamelessly, a bored expression on his face. If Moon wanted to sit around and do nothing, Oni could just organize a patrol himself. He wanted to fuck around, though.

But if it was a reaction Moon so desired then such was what he may have. Words rose about him, tinny and drawn out, given a crackling edge, jaws parting with a sharp intake. Rather than the depths of sleep it was the web of thought Har was caught within, broken as familiar call reached him all at once, blurry eyes gazing about in confusing. Strange was it still, voice familiar though not the one he had come to expect, guilt worming into his heart as the thought formed. Unsteady movements drew the child up upon limbs that held a slight tremble, steps drawing him into the small group that passed him by, muttered between themselves in tones of agitation.

The want was there, almost a need, to close the distance and stand with his fath – leader. As close as he could the Guardian settled near the front, hidden behind the first few rows, listening with only half an ear.

Re: NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - MOONMADE - 10-09-2018

[size=9pt]"You can try for Halo." Says Moon, stepping down from where he'd stood above the rest and towards the small child that had appeared at the border only a few days prior. His brashness is forgotten, replaced instead with mellowness that always takes hold of the lion around kids. "The old leader retired that position, but I can bring it back for you, if you want it." He distinctly remembers his own Halo tryouts, how he'd felt when he'd got the position. It felt like it'd been centuries since. "Basically, you'll be the Apprentice of the Cleric. We don't have none of those, at the moment, but I can show you the ropes. Think your up for it, pup?"

Oni's cutting voice interrupts the moment, and Moon glances up with a slightly disgruntled look. His sour expression only grows the more the Lieutenant talks. "Yeah, sure," says Moon, in a voice that means anything but yeah, sure. Who the fuck did Oni think he could take? They had about three functioning warriors, at the moment. Them against a ship of ruthless Pirates was a suicide mission. "Be my guest. Just make sure your army of Dwarf Stars and Thea have their diapers packed before you take off, yeah?"

Re: NO PLACE FOR A PRIEST : meeting, 10.07 - GABRIEL - 10-09-2018

[align=center][div style="width: 500px; text-align: justify; font-size: 9.4pt; line-height: 1.4;"]"If it's Alzheimer's, I'm forgetting you first." At least Moon no longer wanted to poke him with thirty foot pole- he was just doing it upfront now, and even though his headache was enough to make him want to tear out his fur, some of the tension he'd been carrying loosened. As acerbic as they could be with each other, Gabe liked the kid, he did. Finding him in the cell back in The Typhoon had been a risk he was willing to take, even as he'd known it'd take a lot more than that to earn his trust. Hell, he doubted even now that he had it fully. Enough to give him the old position back, sure, but more than that? He couldn't say. He wouldn't blame him for the hesitation, all things considered. On top of that, though, was Peri. Gabriel missed most of their dance around each other, but he could fill in the blanks, and the way Moon darkened demoting her said more than anything else could. They would've been cute.

God knew Moon needed the impulse control.

His gaze rolled over to Onision, and he exhaled. Moon pretty much summed that up. They didn't have enough to throw at The Typhoon, and Gabriel had a bad feeling that if he showed his face there again on The Ascendants' side, he'd have somebody else with a grudge on his back. It was nothing new, he just needed...something. A break from the headache at the very least.
