hello and welcome to the character development challenge for october! this challenge is meant as a fun event to help flesh out your character and explore new concepts with them. there are two prompts; you are not required to do both each day, but you can if you so wish. you can choose from either prompt to write about on any given day. one is a singular word prompt, the other is a sentence prompt. feel free to explore these prompts in any way you so choose. it can be as vague or as specific as you wish, as long as it connects to the prompt in some way.

feel free to set your cdc up however you like. for example, putting your prompts into a single ooc thread to keep track of them, and linking them to here. after i see that you've completed each prompt, i'll add it to the tally.

the minimum requirement for each prompt is 250 words. if you miss a day or two or however many of the cdc challenge, you are allowed to catch up within any odd number of days.

Day 2: Longing +  y/c learns something about themselves that they didn’t know previously
Day 3: Family + y/c stumbles upon something that brings up their past
Day 4: Loss + how does y/c react to death?
Day 5: Music + how does y/c deal with jealousy? how do they react to this revelation?
Day 6: Trust + has y/c ever gone through tragedy? how have they dealt with it?
Day 7: Laughter + acceptance. does y/c struggle with facing the difficult truth?
Day 8: Forgiveness + how does y/c react to not being loved by somebody they love?
Day 9: Rage + y/c hears a rumor about them; is it true? how do they react?
Day 10: Addiction +  how does y/c deal with pain? emotional or physical?
Day 11: Smoke + how does y/c feel about otherworldly, unnatural powers? of deities and demons and spirits? are they one themselves?
Day 12: Dread + someone closest to y/c turns on them. what is the result, and the aftermath?
Day 13: Hallucination + what is y/c's perceptions on beauty? beauty of the mind, the body, the soul, the environment around them?
Day 14: Sounds + how does y/c feel about the world around them?
Day 15: War + is y/c a leader or a follower?
Day 16: Peace + has y/c ever bottled their emotions before, or concealed how they have felt in the past?
Day 17: Sunrise + how does y/c often spend their time?
Day 18: Failure + what are the simple joys in life for y/c?
Day 19: Greed + y/c is offered a sum of money to kill somebody; how do they react?
Day 20: Panic + y/c finds something good and fortuitous. what is it?
Day 21: Insecurity + how does y/c react to having someone else's life within their hands?
Day 22: Gold + what entertains y/c the most?
Day 23: Dreams + y/c falls ill. do they recover well?
Day 24: Freedom + someone y/c cares about deeply is in trouble. what do they do in response?
Day 25: Uncertainty + write about how y/c best shows their affection
Day 26: Victory + love. how does y/c feel about it, and has it hurt them before?
Day 27: Duty + how does y/c feel about captivity? have they been held captive before?
Day 28: Beginnings + what does y/c do in the face of despair and hoplessness?
Day 29: Lies + does y/c have inner demons? do they face them, or turn away?
Day 30: Revenge + y/c finds themselves under the realization that the expense of their life come's at someone else's mercy. do they cope, and how?
Day 31: Fear + y/c has a nightmare; how do they deal with it?
