Well ain't this just a ding dang darn mess! - Joining Attempt - RB Graveyard - 01-05-2020 EULOGY - Female - Bengal Tigeress - Tag - [member=8943]Eulogy[/member] Her paws were muddy, her coat was matted, and her whiskers where painted brown with muck and gunk. Yet she quite liked it here, though she had only been on Tanglewood lands for a few minutes but she did have to go from the hard lands of a weird forest that had trees that were leaning slightly to the left. A crooked forest.. The tigress trekked on through the mud, but a smile seemed to rest upon her face. Eulogy didn't mind the mud; didn't mind getting her paws dirty. The stripped woman leaped onto one of the many fallen logs that fell victim to a strong storm. Eulogy shrugged, that's just how it was; the strong prevailed and the weak fell. It was a creepy thought, one of which she did not want to stick around within her mind so she shook her head ever so slightly to rid it, but in doing so the weight of her own body deceived her and shook her around instead of the thought. Eulogy slipped from her savior from the mud, the log, and fell into the thick mud below. The woman's right side struck the mud and her left limbs were sent deep into the brown mush. Panic set it and she swung her right arm over to try to reach the log. No luck, she got only but a paw full of mud. With a nervous huff, she called out. "Uh, hello! Anybody?" Re: Well ain't this a ding dang darn mess! - Joining Attempt - Vathmos - 01-05-2020 Wasn't often something got stuck in the mud, and if it did, the crocodiles normally got to it before she did. The deer were too smart and too spry, while the boars used their noses to dig and shove their way out. Some of the crocodiles likes to lounge in the mud, and hid themselves, so Vathmos was careful to avoid it if she could. That being said, she often covered herself in mud to hide her deathly, rotten scent. As much as she didn't care about her smell, it made hunting harder. Vathmos heard the call for help, and turned that way, rushing over. She leaped into the underbrush, hiding herself in the tree roots and carefully crawling over, translucent eyes hidden among the undergrowth. It was a tiger- she had not seen one since Dreakon (what had happened to him?), and know the dangers of one. It was one of the only creatures Vathmos felt posed a threat to her, but this one was stuck and to some degree, helpless. She could wait it out, wait for it to die, but she imagined Aurum would be here eventually and he would scold her for doing nothing. She tried reasoning in her head if she could kill the beast, blame it on a crocodile and eat it, but that was at the risk of getting herself stuck too. Migehhayte asyah welele tehayreohw hayere a beohne. She came out the bushes, her throat already producing her customary chortling laughter. All that tasty predator meat, going to waste. Ugh. She paced in front of the beast for a moment, as if deciding how to approach it, continuing her hyena laughter, rounded ears focused on the beast and eyes following through. Vathmos looked over the scene, saw the log, and moved, pushing it out with her jaws, mud tainting her tongue, and pushing it out so the tiger could try to grab it. ━ [b]MY SKIN IS A STORY┆LONELY. As if the very simple thought of his name from Vathmos had summoned him, Aurum appeared on the scene not too long after the hyena, his heavy pawsteps signaling his approach before he actually came into view. The winged lion was moving slowly from log to log in a similar manner to what Eulogy had been doing, although the proxy had the added advantage of the large golden and red wings that sat upon his back. These were what enabled him to leap over larger distances than the tigress had been able to, and also pretty much entirely negated the threat of getting stuck in the mud, since he could always just thrash his wings in order to pull himself upward. The male had been patrolling through the territory when two different scents entered his nose, one familiar and one foreign. As he had headed towards the combination of different smells, he had heard Eulogy's soft and mildly panicked voice, although she sounded more embarrassed than anything. Aurum sped up his pace a little bit, the big cat eventually finding himself situated beside Vathmos, whom he was very glad to see was actually attempting to help the poor trapped female, rather than try and eat her – even if the hyena had very much considered doing so. Hunkering down beside Vathmos, Aurum tried not to wince as the sound of her sharp and loud chortling went off right beside his ear. There were many parts of Vathmos he loved very dearly, but any hyena's laughter was not exactly the most pleasant sound in the world. As he waited for Eulogy to grip the log that was being held out in offering to her, the proxy rumbled softly, "Hello there, Miss... are you alright? I mean, obviously you fell in the mud, but besides that. You're not injured, are you...?" If she was, it would be most convenient for the male to just hop up now and get someone, like Selby or Abathur, or even Moth if he could find her, although he hadn't seen her in many days. template by orion

The petite vixen popped out from the marsh shortly after Vathmos and Aurum, having heard the call for help. In the meantime, the medic shifted on her snow white paws. Focused and ready to offer assistance should it turn out the tigress was injured in some way. © MADI Re: Well ain't this a ding dang darn mess! - Joining Attempt - ABATHUR . - 01-06-2020 Border patrol was a bit gloomier for the newly-crowned chaser. Not because of his newfound position, no, that didn't bring his spirits down, just confused them - in reality, the true culprit to his foul mood was his faulty eyesight. A downer for anyone in his position, for sure, but he disliked dwelling on that thought, even if it did put him square in the middle of a metaphorical sinkhole full of mud that he couldn't climb out of no matter how hard he tried. Speaking of that incredibly specific metaphor, he happened upon such a scene - a large tiger, sunk down in the muddy landscape of Tanglewood's signature swamp. His first instinct was to help, but such help was already being doled out by one of their resident hyenas, Vathmos, with Aurum uncharacteristically sitting on the sidelines, along with the small Kiira, whom he didn't really know that well. The spider came to sit alongside Aurum's form, gazing down at the tiger with as much force as he could muster, doing his best to focus the image to no avail. He was quite used to that process, trying to see, then, subsequently, failing to. It only got worse as the days went on, unfortunately.
"Greetings," he said, to the subterranean tiger, trying to think up something to talk about. "How is mud?" Nobody said he was good at small talk, but he did his best, even if it sort of... failed. He realized it, after saying it, but decided to abide by his question, imagining that the situation would get more awkward if he backpedaled. Hopefully she could just laugh about it. tags - "speech"

Only when the lion creature had appeared did the uncomfort cease, the log she had slipped off of was now being offered to her by strong jaws and a spotted face. Eulogy reached to grab it, claws gripping the wood and pulling herself closer to it. The mud made a sloshing sound as her foot slapped on top of it, her paw still moving upward in the mud. Eulogy adjusted her claws for a better grip, but in doing so, her paw and foot sank back in slightly. The lion spoke; his voice almost equivalent to the distant rumble of a coming storm. Eulogy pulled her paw out of the, now slightly warm from her body heat, mud. As she spoke she continued her pull. "Yes, yes. Im alright. I dont think anything is injured or broken though i do think my shoulder is going to be a little sore from swinging it out towards the log.." With another big hull she got her foot out an managed to prop it up on on of the roots that somewhat stuck out of the mud. Besides the fact the the hyena had offered to help her and not eat her, the root helped her to make the final pull to get her stomach out. She couldn't image what she looked like right now, probably a little ridiculous. Eulogy pushed herself through the mud while she still clung to the mud, she would sink if she wasnt. The tigress reached a not so muddy spot where this time all four paws were on the ground and not two feet down in the mush, she thanked the hyena kindly. The spider spoke, and she chuckled. "Mud is.." she tilted her head slightly and laughed a little. "Muddy." Wow... sentence of the year. This newcomer certainly seemed... interesting. It was far from the first time that someone had fallen victim to Tanglewood's swampiness, and the proxy very highly doubted it would be the last time, but normally not so many people showed up to help out. Aurum watched carefully as Vathmos assisted Eulogy back up onto somewhat solid land, and the female shook herself out, clearly a bit embarrassed by the predicament that show had found herself in. Aurum couldn't say he blamed her, although his own reaction to the mud and muck of Tanglewood had been one more of anger, rather than embarrassment. Putting that aside, Aurum knew that there was more to be said to this newcomer than there already had been, and he found himself sitting up upon Abathur's arrival, stretching out his tired limbs and shaking off the last bits of drowsiness before focusing on Eulogy. Offering the newly freed female a calm and warm smile to welcome her into the group, Aurum tilted his head to one side before speaking, "I am glad that you're alright... I'm sorry you ended up trapped in there in the first place. But now that that's resolved, would you mind telling me your name? As well as why you might be here? Because even if you're just passing through, this is Tanglewood territory." He tried his best to be a mixture of calm and helpful while also maintaining a sort of intimidating and commanding air, considering the fact that Tanglewood needed to make sure their borders were firmly protected and enforced. Couldn't have people thinking they could just wander through without a reason and without consequences. That's how they ended up with scenarios like the fight with Kydobi and Astiar. Just the thought of that whole damn incident made a scowl want to curl its way onto Aurum's face, although the proxy held back from doing so, not wanting Eulogy to think that she had done something horribly wrong to anger him. He could always just fume silently about that later, as if he hadn't done enough of that. template by orion

This added some ease to her embarrassment; she didn't have to continue to sit awkwardly waiting for someone to speak. She blinked a bit as he spoke, taking in his words. "Oh dont be sorry! It wasn't your fault," she then added with a chuckle. "Unless you pushed me in." Eulogy didn't think she was funny... she wasn't at all actually. Every once in a while she'll try to crack a good joke. But there were more important things at hand right now, like her standing sitting on Tangle wood ground. "My name is Eulogy. Please forgive me for my," she huffed. "Ridiculous intrusion.." The tigress gave a small smile, as if she were trying to play off the fact that she didn't get stuck in the mud and three creatures along with a giant spider came to help. "Im here to see if Tanglwood would be accepting of me," she added onto the sentence as if it weren't self explanatory. "Im here to see if i would be allowed to join Tanglewood." The lion's expression seemed to dim, as if he were thinking of something he didnt quite like. Eulogy tilted her head and made a 'hm' sound.
Re: Well ain't this just a ding dang darn mess! - Joining Attempt - THEM - 01-07-2020 [align=center][div style="text-align:justify;width:55%;font-family:verdana;"]The melting snow had turned the forest floor into a slurry of mud and rotten leaves, trickling down into the marshes where the mud only accumulated into an impassable, viscous soup. Rookie mistake, not checking the depth of a puddle. He'd learned the same lesson the hard way - but thankfully nobody had been around to see him soaked with muddy water on the humiliating trek home. "...I don't see any reason to deny you." The last time he'd heard commotion near the border, it had been a blood bath. Kaz is cautious as the memory lingers, taking the higher ground, surveying the landscape just in case Eulogy is not the only one intruding on Tanglewood grounds. He only eases once he's certain the group stands alone. "You can clean yourself up once we get to town. Do you need help finding your way?" Of course she would, she hardly knew there was a border in place, he considers with a huff - but it didn't hurt to extend the offer all the same. Thankfully for both Eulogy and the currently quite tired proxy of Tanglewood, ot didn't seem as though this would be one of those events at the border that would end with some sort of trouble. Rather, Eulogy seemed to recover her confidence before she smiled at him, laying out why she had crossed over into the muddy mess of a territory in the first place. An instant smile came to Aurum's muzzle when he heard her words, always glad to welcome in a new joiner. They had been getting more and more of them lately, and it was never a bad thing to Aurum, who was always eager to have new friends within Tanglewood's lush town. Before he was able to confirm that Eulogy could join without issue, however, Miller beat him to the punch, a fact that only slightly aggravated the lion. It wasn't really that big of a deal, but part of him wondered if while he was healing from his wounds, he could just leave Miller and the other's in charge of welcoming people in and taking care of the more mundane things. He swiftly quashed that thought, resisting the urge to shake his head. No... making sure people knew the smiling faces that would be around them at all times now was important too. So, instead, Aurum dipped his head in a nod, smile lingering on his face as he spoke, "As Miller said, I don't see any reason why you can't join. Welcome to Tanglewood, I'm Aurum, and I'm the proxy around here... I'd offer to fly you back to our town so you could entirely avoid any possible mud pits, but I'm afraid I'm not supposed to do much physical lifting right now..." Aurum couldn't even begin to imagine the absolute conniption Abathur and Selby would have if he flew into town with a whole tiger on his back with his current wounded condition. template by orion
