His plan: outwit everyone. Find Pandora. Find Oyaji. That was it. He stayed here merely for what it offered him, the new ways to play everyone like a cheap kazoo, the gems. Pandora. Pandora. Destro- He cuts his own thoughts off. No, now wasn't the time. Even so, if he were to become obsessed with destroying Pandora, far past the point he already was, he would become worse off. Despite his self-proclaimed apathy; there was one person he got attached to- because he was like Oyaji? Or Jii-chan? - and that was Aurum. The one who welcome him back, welcomed him in the first place, despite being wounded. Pandora can fix his- No, no. Pandora could wait a few seconds, to keep up appearances. At least, that's what Kaito told himself. That he wasn't attached to the lion, not even in a slight way, because he couldn't be if he was meant to be successful. he shakes his head, exiting his house and taking a few deep breaths. Kaitou Kid was not needed today, it could wait longer. The advance notice he sent out stated a week, he would need to stop thinking about such awful things until then. Light paws trek through slush, some snow, and mud. He sighs, wiping them off with every chance he gets. After a while, it gets annoying. But, then, he makes it. To where Aurum lived. A small, quaint little house with a porch. How cute, he hums to himself. He wipes his paws off on the step, hopping upward to the porch. After a little while, knocks on the door. "Aurum? It's Kuroba. Can I come in?" His voice is somewhat quiet, but loud enough to hear, and not holding emotion. Just to check on him. His wounds. What happened to him. Because that's what a good clan mate does. Kuroba. At first, the name doesn't sound familiar to his ears, his head lifting as a look of confusion passed over the proxy's face. He's grown so used to addressing the male as Kaito that he had nearly forgotten the other name that he went by, not to mention the fact that exhaustion pulled at his every limb, trying to lull him back into darkness. Ever since he got a lance firmly through the chest, he's been lapsing in and out of sleep, his body desperately attempting to catch up and mend the damage that had been done to him by Uriel. Obviously that had been pretty distracting for the lion, but that didn't mean that he had just forgotten about Kaito. No, he definitely remembered the other, he just hadn't really had a chance to interact with the other much since he had welcomed him back into the group. Once the gears in Aurum's head were spinning, the male shaking off the cobwebs of sleep from his mind, he seemed to remember who was asking to come in. Stretching out a wing, Aurum rumbled from the bed he was in, wanting to get up but knowing full well that probably wouldn't end well, "Yeah, you can come in... the door's open. I'd let you in myself, but I can't really get off the bed right now." It felt lazy, making Kaito let himself into the house, but... Aurum really couldn't help it. Even as he just put his chin back down on the cushioned surface of his bed, sleep was calling to him seductively, although he held fast, flattening his ears to his head and letting out a soft huff of air in frustration. Aurum had always absolutely hated being injured, not only because of the pain and annoyances it brought with it, but because of the fact that it meant he couldn't really go out freely and enjoy himself. He was already beginning to feel isolated and trapped, the urge to pace around the room fighting it out with the urge to just collapse into a deep sleep again. He also didn't want to make people come to see him for companionship, so he supposed that he was very lucky that Kaito had decided to come on his own, like a very sweet saving grace about the whole unpleasant situation. template by orion

The teen doesn't really know what to say, just awkwardly standing there, waiting for a yes or no answer. When he does, he breathes a sigh of relief, mist crystallizing into icy water vapor in front of oceanic eyes. The sinner in white moves forward, opening the door. He drops his bag by the door, looking at the lion's awful condition. He sighs, though not from relief, but from pity and hope that the angelic lion would become better. Blue eyes scan his entire body. Jeez, he had it rough. "Hope I'm not bothering you," came the smooth voice of Kuroba, getting some games out from the bag. He drops them on a nearby table, sitting near Aurum. "Brought some boardgames. Wanna play?" Re: golden sea // aurum - wormwood. - 01-04-2020 i was born, on the highway, in a train wreck

Aurum really didn't enjoy people pitying him. Never had, and never would. Even as he saw the look in Kaito's eyes when he stepped inside, Aurum winced a little bit, a sigh leaving him. He knew the wound looked pretty bad right now, all messily bandaged up and still very much in the process of healing while he slept, but he still never enjoyed worrying others. Wings shifting upon his back, Aurum quickly shook his head, eager to change the subject as he rumbled, "No, no, don't worry, you're not bothering me. Things get pretty boring around here when I can't do much more than just sit and read, you know?" It wasn't that he didn't enjoy reading – it was, in fact, one of his favorite pastimes – but when you were injured and it was one of the only things you could do constantly? It got the slightest bit old pretty quickly. Upon seeing the board games that Kaito had brought with him, Aurum perked up a little in interest, curiosity filling the proxy. Slowly but surely the male moved down from his bed, speaking slowly as he moved to inspect the games, "Huh. I wouldn't mind playing something... I've never really played any board games before though, so I'd have to learn the rules." template by orion

Kaito adjusted the way he looked, humming slightly - an old Japanese lullaby - from Oyaji. Not like he could ever forget what his father taught him, as he unboxed the games. He notes the messy bandages. "You know, if you ever need help with your wounds, let me know. I have a lot of experience." Because despite not hurting others, everyone went after me. Ugh, the life of KID, he adds on in his mind, sarcasm flowing like a waterfall. His gaze flickers through the games. Apples to Apples? No good with two people. Would he even like that game, anyway? They could do card games, but Kuroba specifically said that he was doing a board game. Oh, ahah! Battleship. He begins to hum once more, setting it up, and bringing it in front of the lion. After all, why make the injured man move, right? He puts the pieces in order and starts to explain this. "Alrighty, then. Guess there's a time for everything, Oya- Aurum. This is called Battleship. You put each of your ships on tiles, making sure they don't intersect or interlock with each other. Then, once we've both done that, we flip a coin to see who goes first. The objective is simple: try to destroy the other person's fleet. You do this by calling out a letter-number sequence you think one of the ships may be on, for example: A3. If it isn't correct, the turn goes to the other person. If it does have a ship, then you keep going until you have guessed incorrectly." When Kaito's eyes flicked across the slightly messy bandages that covered his chest... well, Aurum tried his best not to wince. He was fone, really. It wasn't that bad of a wound, and it didn't need that much fussing over. Sure, it ached a bit, and the whole scene after it had first happened had been pretty fucking scary, but he was doing better now... he didn't need help. Forcing a smile onto his muzzle, the lion shook his head before rumbling softly, his voice warm even through the grogginess that pulled at his fur, "Ah... I'm alright. This is far from the first time I've been injured... not to mention everyone I've already got fussing over me. Roy is a mess after everything that happened, not to mention Selby's visits..." He looked down at the ground thoughtfully for a moment before shaking his head, a soft chuckle leaving him. He looked up again when a game was placed in front of him, blinking at the name of it. Battleship. As he listened to the rules Kaito laid out Aurum noted that it sounded like a war game, albeit quite the simple one. Reaching out with large paws, the proxy pulled his pieces towards him, saying as he surveyed the board full of possible places to put them, "I see... I'm assuming this is supposed to be some kind of psychological game, to not let your opponent figure out where your ships are?" He had played games similar to this back when he had been a cub and he and Poet needed something to do together, but they were hardly this advanced, and usually just involved sketching lines and symbols in the dirt. template by orion

He looks uncomfortable at the mention of Roy - perhaps because that young had a father that lived past the point he was two months of age - or something else going on beneath the surface. Then, he's right back at it, smiling as if his mind was empty. "I can see why. It's nice to have those kind of people." He purrs, soft and gentle. At the older lion's questions, Kuroba nods. His tail flicking behind him. "You are correct, sir. Therefore, you also have to guess where they are. When you're ready, go ahead and have the first turn." Uncomfortable and then right back to smiling. Not exactly an uncommon occurence for Aurum, who always tended to put other's comfort before his own. In this case, however, he just didn't want to dwell on the unpleasant emotions, having had far more than enough of that in recent times. Just lying on the ground nearly dying while listening to his son sobbing for him to survive was enough to meet his "suffering" meter for a lifetime. Taking a deep breath, the proxy looked over the board of ships for a long moment before he finally spoke, "Hmm... B5, then?" Despite having been around Kaito for a little while now, and having gotten to like the kid well enough, it wasn't as if Aurum knew how the other thought when it came to war games like this. So, for now he was going in blindly, trying to tell where ships might be strategically hidden away. template by orion

He stares down at his ship, remembering how the one in Singapore almost ended badly. It destroyed some of the city, and he had to help stop it. Once again, the life of a phantom thief. He shakes his head, grinning once more. He stares up at the lion, happy to have someone to play such menial games with. He looks up upon hearing the call and shakes his head. "Sorry, but no. A3?" Aurum's tail flicked absently behind him as he focused on the game, a faint smile appearing on his face when he heard Kaito. Shaking his head, ths lion rumbled softly to the other, "I'm afraid not. E5?" As he awaited the other's answer, he allowed his eyes to rake slowly over the board in front of him, his head tilting thoughtfully to one side, "Hmm... have you played games like these often?" He found himself curious, considering he didn't know that much about Kaito yet. He seemed like a good kid at heart, but Aurim knew very little about the male's past, or who he really was. template by orion
